Nobody in Europe, INCLUDING UKRAINE'S OWN HIGH-RANKING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS think that a Russian 'attack' is imminent.

It's beginning to look like this is all just a big, hysterical bunch of drama that the BIDEN regime has dreamed up to get America's attention off JOE'S colossal, fugged-up mess on OUR border with Mexico!

And even if Russia were to invade, what's it to us? They're both 'cousins' having a family squabble that goes back to 1991. No vital concern for us....

Note: Looking throughout my house, I do not see one (ONE) thing that was made in either Ukraine or Russia. And, we've got much more pressing problems right here, right now!

Or it could be to distract from our economic situation. The Russian troop movements began in April last year, but didn't become a "crisis" until November when the Fed admitted that inflation wasn't transitory and started teasing the idea of tapering its QE and raising interest rates.

For whatever reason, it does look like a huge distraction, but it's playing with fire.

Budapest memorandum. The US participated in disarming a nuclear state that is being harassed by another nuclear state now. This sets a precedent for future agreements.

Then I guess the same could be said about Poland, Finland, and even Alaska. Would you call a russian-American war a family squabble?

A huge portion (if not half) of the flour that was used to make your pizza, noodles, or bread came from Ukrainian wheat.
I picked up an apple juice at my local Walmart the other day and the packaging said 90% of the juice concentrate came from Ukraine and 10% from China.

Many ingredients in our everyday food come from Ukraine.

:roflol: You make me laugh. Ukrainian wheat in half of US products? LMAO. The US exports more wheat than Ukraine. And Russia exports twice as much as the US.

I don’t remember the exact percentage, but here, the article talks about Ukraine punching way above its weight in terms of food production. In USSR it was called the bread basket for a reason.

It shouldn't be any surprise Russians are being told NATO is about the attack them.

...nor should it be any surprise Europeans are being told Russia is about to attack them.

Putin own Russian media, and Western media is owned by the corporations that will get richer off a war with Russia. The common folk put up with it because we be all believe the sweet lies of our horrible govts.

The Biden administration would put people in prison for the wrong social media posts in a minute, if they thought they could get away with it, so don't put on airs.

What I don't understand Is why are the NATO countries not leading this charge? That tells me either they don't think this Is that big of a deal, or they don't think it wise. This fight could come to their doorstep sooner than ours, so why not let them lead?

History? You mean like 'Ukraine' was created by Lenin out of thin air when he carved it out of Russian territory??

Chernobyl was built in the Soviet Socialist State of Ukraine, I'll give you that.

There is no need again. This one state has been demanding in recent years: "Aggressor, give us gas! Close Nord Stream 2, you are an aggressor and must pump gas through us! It's so hard for us without aggressor gas!" No one is following Uraina, except for his own paranoia.

The crooks in Ukraine are really mad they can't keep stealing gas and taxing the gas that goes on to other countries. They are the reason Nord Stream 2 was built. What they didn't steal, they didn't want to pay for.

Why Ukraine is playing down Russia threat as U.S. sounds the alarm

As Russian President Vladimir Putin amasses troops near the border of Ukraine and the United States and its allies sound the alarm, Ukraine's leaders — including its own president — are downplaying the possibility of invasion. While one expert insists Ukraine's government and military are "paying a lot of attention" to Russian movements, another says a lack of "evident intensive defense preparations" could mean there's "some substance to Kyiv's belief that the threat is not as imminent as Washington would have us believe."

In Russia they don't talk about the war. There is no preparation for it. There are no rumors of an invasion of Ukraine. Everything that I, as a layman, know about the attack on Ukraine, sounds in English. I don't know if this is propaganda. And if propaganda, then whose. All that Putin says: "We will protect people." All Biden says: "We will impose new shares." And Ukraine says: "Putin is ready to invade, but he will not attack." China says: "Shut up everyone - we have the Olympics" :)

I think there is not enough political will and they really are quite dependent on Russia now. This is not the first time many European countries are paralyzed during the emergence of a real threat.

Yep, there are many parallels out there between Russians and progressives. Twisting meanings of words, media ignoring some damaging events - that’s how Russian mass media rolls.
