That's cool. I haven't been able to use the family 10/22 since I gave it to my youngest, she's busy shooting it whenever we go to the range. I'm watching some of my Dad's guns for a bit and one of them is a Mossberg 46M ( @1945 ) in .22 S-L-LR. Look really interesting, can't wait to shoot it. Even has an old scope on it.

The board owner's might not be willing to host a trade section, but what do you say about trying to get some of these "on-the-fence" folks to go shooting with some of us, try to turn them into "shooting enthusiasts"? That's always fun.

Any trading we do will probably be relagated to PM-Land.

The left already knows only well regulated Militias of the People may not be Infringed when keeping and bearing Arms for their State or the Union.

Did you miss the reason why else the North had to win over the South?

Dude, rights in private property are secured in State Constitutions with the terms, inalienable or indefeasible.

Isn't it astonishing how ignorant banners are about the term "well regulated militia". Its as if they dont realize the founders of teh nation were gun lovers.

The intent and purpose is well documented, the founders were very clear about their opinion of gun rights. Maybe banners have a filter on their computer that prevents them from searching on historical documents.

You clearly do not understand how private property rights work. It also appears that you do not know of the existence of wills and ability for someone to transfer their property to family or another designated party after they pass away.

I believe we should hold the commanders in chief of that which is declared necessary to the security of a free State, more accountable to the People than to their parties.

so you can legally buy a handgun from a gun show or a private sale, without any background check.

you could be an escaped convict, or wanted by the police for murder or child rape.

    that's just fabulous.

I hear you on that one.

Unfortunately my job has moved me to NY recently. I'm currently going through the process of getting a shotgun for home defense, doing the whole mandatory registration and all that fun NY law stuff. I left my plethora of unregistered firearms back in my home state in the South where logic and reason prevail. So yeah the government has got me now. I now officially have 1 firearm in my name that I will enthusiastically giving right back to the gun store the second I move from this place.

You must have a REALLY good job to move there. I was talking about working for a few days in NY. I travel a lot for work and have worked in 33 states. NY is not on that list and I think I would call in sick before having to work there.

I can shoot an escaped convict or someone wanted by the police for murder or child rape with a much better chance of not being sued or thrown in jail or becoming their victim in some way. That is more fabulous.

First, a state or municipality cannot make laws that violate the Bill of Rights, and just because nobody has yet filed a lawsuit to challenge such laws does not make such laws correct. Before the Heller vs D.C and McDonald vs Chicago decisions, the Draconian laws banning handguns of those two cities were upheld for many years.

It was also legal to intern Japanese Americans against their will: The Supreme Court in Korematsu v. United States even sided with the government's decision to allow for the internment of people against their will, and this decision has not been officially overturned to this very day. Do you agree with their decision? I would hope not.

Rather than taking your advice to "change [the laws] or stay out," I would rather the government simply not make laws that trample civil rights, private property rights, and the right to keep and bear arms.

let me know when SCOTUS deems NY's handgun laws to be unConstitutional.

    then we can talk.

Yeah Im in the military, we don't get to say "no" lol. But if I had a choice I would leave this place tomorrow and never come back. I have absolutely no desire to live in this state. The running gag at work is that when troops get stationed here we consider it an overseas assignment. We don't even consider this place as part of the actual United States lol.

Yet you and the gun-control crowd seem to be perfectly fine with private sellers of automobiles being able to sell their car to just about anyone, regardless of their history of alcohol abuse or horrible driving record. I just sold my car, and their is no background check involved, and seeing that automobile collisions kill 4 TIMES as many as gun-related homicides, it baffles me that you anti-gun folk could care less about car-related fatalities and closing the "loophole" regarding private car sales.

comparing guns to cars, is one of the more comical strawman arguments gun extremists make.
