That has nothing to do with federal government authority and whether or not federal pro-abortion or anti-abortion laws could be passed.

you take us down this path, then don't remember how we got here

because if you ban all elective surgery effecting the breasts or genital area... it includes those cases

leave it up to the child, doctors and parents... keep the government out of it unless the parents try to force it on a child

Sure, but question: who the hell has talked about banning all elective surgery effecting the breasts or genital area?

sure it does, if the government forces rape victims to have their rapists babies... that is the government deciding

Just like I'm sure you would say keep the government out of the sex life of a child, unless the parents try to force the sex on a child.

So why not include consent for sex in that standard too?

yes, a child can choose to have sex for themselves when they reach the age of consent, that doesn't mean the parents can force a child to have sex

can't believe that even has to be said, that is common sense in my Country

As previously stated, consenting to sex is a contract with another.
Dealing with transexuality is addressing a conflict within the self. It's a totally different thing.

kinda like a 16-year-old that learns to have sex with themselves is not committing a crime, even if the age of consent is 18

It also doesn't mean that the post-pubescent child can't really want to have sex before the age of consent. I know I did. But the consent law is designed to prevent adults from taking advantage of those urges. That genuinely protects kids.

From what I understand, just telling trans kids not to be trans does absolutely nothing to protect them, it tortures them.

What is the point in that?

We are not going to change the age of consent law.

    That is clear.
Remember you are talking about parents and hospitals.

And, you conclusions about these parents and hospitals is total BS.

Irrelevant. Changing the age of consent law was not what was being discussed. Again, I was asking @FreshAir for their opinion on what the age of consent should be for sex and gender affirming care. That should have been clear.

Yes, I am fully aware that I am talking about abusive parents and hospitals who are involved in pumping kids full of cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers and chopping off their penises and breasts.

    What conclusion did I make?

My goodness. It really should not be this difficult to follow. Your standard of: when a child can consent to gender affirming care, quote: "depends on when the child is capable of making the choice themselves." So why not include consent for sex in that standard too?

You really do have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Go ahead, surprise me - STUN me frozen solid
by quoting a Republican saying that all elective surgery effecting breasts or genitals should be banned. :roflol:

Consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes isn't. Can kids consent to consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes?

4 out of 5 children who identify as being transgender, lose those feelings of being transgender. Were 80% of kids who identify as being transgender, mistaken? Or were they temporarily transgender?

Adults should not start to confirm or restrain the identity experiments of young people, says the professor of youth psychiatry - Science | HS.fi (www-hs-fi.translate.goog)

So then parents and doctors can do whatever they want to a child, unless the parents try to force it on them. Got it.

Yes, and no such federal law exists.

Which includes allowing men into women's bathroom and changing rooms. NOPE! Not on board with that. Neither is the Pope. Neither should any SANE person.
