The Kurds have a right to their historical homelands, which are in Turkey, Iran and Iraq - and a small part of Syria. But they have no legitimate right to the oil and gas rich lands that Washington wants them to have.

That is a trash. The map shows the Kurds live in it does not mean they are the majority all region. Such cities Adana, Maraş or Sivas have more than 80% Turkish population. And you are so funny

More than 18 million Shiite Turks (Azerbaijanis) live in Northern Iran, I can speak almost every one in Turkish if I go Tabriz.

Or more than 2 millon Turks live in Germany.

So according to your logic Iran is Turkey too and that will be ridiculous

Have good time with your Kurdish boy friend, Jiji. Since you devoted all of your life for the Kurds in sake of your love. I respect that.

But Kurdish historical homeland is Zagros Mountainous areas of Iran. They were nomadic people till beginning of 20. century.

Read some history and enlighten yourself you will not lose anything
They never created an empire during history.

Do you mean the TURKISH CITIZENS of Kurdish origin??

It won't do no good to that base of your already weak argument dude. Why?

Let me teach you a little about what our constitution says:

ARTICLE 10- Everyone is equal before the law without distinction as to language, race, colour, sex, political opinion, philosophical belief, religion and sect, or any such grounds. (Paragraph added on May 7, 2004; Act No. 5170) Men and women have equal rights. The State has the obligation to ensure that this equality exists in practice. (Sentence added on September 12, 2010; Act No. 5982) Measures taken for this purpose shall not be interpreted as contrary to the principle of equality.

Mr First, what you'd see on that map would be TURKISH CITIZENS ONLY who are protected by the CONSTITUTION of the REPUBLIC !

Syria on the other hand is a country that has been under military invasions of other countries like Iran, Russia, US, Israel, and many terror organizations tied to them as to be used as their proxies when it comes to paramilitary engagements against each other. There's no Syria left, because it has NO constitution functioning as normal states have, therefore its "de facto government" has got no legitimacy over Syrian lands other than Damascus and its perimeter. That small controversial legitimacy area is too becoming vague by the recent Israeli attacks. Even if Syria had a functioning constitution, your base would still be weak as hell as Assad has never given no state ID to neither Kurds nor Turks of Syria because it was an ARAB state. He was that kind of a stupid coward... Period...!

I'm not sure you know what you are talking about my Russian friend:

    upload_2018-2-10_11-2-40.png

    Source: Wikipedia.

Even ISIS got more aircraft loss... Lol...

19 is a shame considering that sort of overseas force deployed to Syria including huge naval base, many air bases, and numerous army bases all around western Syria... And still having some seriously bad casualties : (

We know we will be sorry making our Russian friends understand the fact that Syria is OUR BACKYARD constituting a security problem when we are NOT there but I'm afraid by then Russia will be suffered tons of more incidents like that if they keep ignoring and BACKSTABBING TURKS... We have called when Americans raised and got all-in against the most powerful military in the world a while ago now, because we just felt "threatened"... You can compare us to Israel in taking geopolitical measures but I'd still say we're a little more dangerous as we are a little stronger...

Looks like you forgot to mention one more invader - some coutry northward to Syria. Which used to buy the stolen Syrian oil from ISIS.

So what, goody? Constitution is just a piece of paper. Have no idea how a piece of paper can protect you in case of war? Not so long time ago Turkey used army divisions to fight against Kurds in Diyarbakir and in that area, and this war lasts for several decades. Just a couple of years ago. So, was it something wrong with your beautiful constitution? And I would like to see what would be Turkey's legitimacy over its terrirtory - or any other country - after 7 years of civil war and foreign interventions.

Posting maps of Turkmen settlements in Syria keep in mind it's a two way road. Kurds, Arabs and other people live in Turkey too. Setting on fire a neighbour's house is not the best idea if your own house is too close to a neigbours's one.
Actually, numerous Russian airbases are pretty far from Syria, much further than Turkish bases. "Huge naval base" is just a one dock in a small Syrian port. Russian air wing in Syria at its higher points didn't exeed 40-50 aircrafts.
As for your one Turkish lost aircraft, so one may say your achievements in Syria are apparently equal to your losses - somewhere around the zero.

We are there to secure our 911km long border to a hell hole called Syria by cleaning a direct threat from a terrorist organization called PKK which Russians allowed without no shame to open a nice office in Moscow...

The question is, what the heck do you do here in Syria other than of course stealing/controlling the pass of natural resources of the country laying under the seabed and the soil by a made up invitation letter from Assad that doesn't even exist ? : )

To Russians it is a piece of paper obviously, lol... But to us it's been a matter of life and death since 1923.

    Here's how:

By regulating standards of how state acts during the times of war:

    • ARTICLE 15- In times of war, mobilization, a state of emergency, the exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms may be partially or entirely suspended, or measures derogating the guarantees embodied in the Constitution may be taken to the extent required by the exigencies of the situation, as long as obligations under international law are not violated.
Even under the circumstances indicated in the first paragraph, the individual’s right to live, the integrity of his/her corporeal and spiritual existence shall be inviolable except where death occurs through acts in conformity with law of war; no one shall be compelled to reveal his/her religion, conscience, thought or opinion, nor be accused on account of them; offences and penalties shall not be made retroactive; nor shall anyone be held guilty until so proven by a court ruling.

By determining who is responsible for declaration of war and allowing military to conduct foreign operations:

    • ARTICLE 87- The duties and powers of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey are to enact, amend, and repeal laws; to debate and adopt the budget bills and final accounts bills; to decide to issue currency and declare war; to approve the ratification of international treaties, to decide with the majority of three-fifths of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to proclaim amnesty and pardon; and to exercise the powers and carry out the duties envisaged in the other articles of the Constitution.

By appointing a man-in-charge during the time of war:

    • ARTICLE 117- The Office of Commander-in-Chief is inseparable from the spiritual existence of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and is represented by the President of the Republic. The President of the Republic shall be responsible to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for national security and for the preparation of the armed forces for the defense of the country. Appointed by the President of the Republic, The Chief of the General Staff is the commander of the armed forces and in time of war, exercises the duties of Commander-in-Chief on behalf of the President of the Republic.

By clearly making it possible for the Republic to protect itself under certain conditions:

    • ARTICLE 119- In the event of war, the emergence of a situation necessitating war, mobilization, an uprising, strong rebellious actions against the motherland and the Republic, widespread acts of violence of internal or external origin threatening the indivisibility of the country and the nation, emergence of widespread acts of violence aimed at the destruction of the Constitutional order or of fundamental rights and freedoms, serious deterioration of public order because of acts of violence, occurrence of natural disasters, outbreak of dangerous epidemic diseases or emergence of a serious economic crisis; the President of the Republic may declare state of emergency in one region or nationwide for a period not exceeding six months. The decision to declare state of emergency shall be published in the Official Gazette on the date of the decision and shall be submitted for approval to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on the same day.

Turkish army in its history never ever fought against any ethnicity, and that includes "Kurds"...

I suppose you refer to operations started in the summer of 2015 against ""PKK"" terror cells in the Southeastern cities of Turkey. Besides, the Turkish elite forces units reported numerous "Armenian, Serbian, German" citizens among the PKK deaths back then but we didn't raise the issue before the global audience that strong because as one of the parties who agreed on the terms of this new "hybrid craziness" we also accepted the fact that PKK could be used as a proxy of enemy countries against us, just as we use FSA or other organizations against them.

As Bush put well once; "Terrorism has no race/ethnicity". So true...

Nope... Read the bold line in the Article 119 up there again. You'll figure how that "beautiful constitution" just "constitutionalized" the cleanse of a region off of terrorist cells funded and armed by foreign powers, via allowing military using "effective tools of engagement"...

    Hallelujah !

As far as I concern you're Russian and we're no longer living in those past centuries when we used to be warring with Russia.
We are just securing our borders by cleaning the Syrian side of it from the terrorists that have been threatening the lives of our innocent citizens living alongside the border towns. And just because we're doing what Russia refused to do there, you as a Russian wish for 7 years of turmoil, civil war and foreign interventions upon my nation....

    So sad... : (

No dude, you're wrong... There's only one way from the Olive Branch on and that is "OUR WAY"...

I know that's not something that might be digested too easily, especially when you came faaaaaar from the Urals to the Mediterranean, spending tons of Rubles when the oil production doesn't bring much, and on top of all, now getting compromised by the geopolitics of a regional power and a true state actor... Man... I admit, I'd be pissed too... : )

We don't have to carry a military base to the region because Turkey by its unique strategic location is the base itself here.
So although we have the "home advantage" and can loose as at least thrice as much you ever can, and moreover having been flying all over heavily armed YPG sh.t faces for dozens of days, have just lost only one plane so far and that was not a fighter jet..!

So I'll leave it all to you to do the math there Kolya...

This map is the borders the Kurds were promised at the end of WW1. Far from trash, this is what the West robbed them of when the British and French decided they wanted the mideast for themselves..

Well, then you should learn some history, your posts clearly show your ignorance about the facts.

Threaty of Sevres became invalid after Turkish War of Independence, we abolished Ottomans, and Treaty of Lausanne was concluded with Republic of Turkey. Also Treaty of Sevres never promised Kurds such a large area.

Well you should see, Turkestan map, the name of Region is "Turkestan" ;) It is not a political map, it is a historical map.

you can see on Wikipedia as well.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkestan

Hahaha, since we created several empires over centuries. but Kurds never created any empire, never! Turks and Hungarians are also relative nations. Army of Chengiz Khan was predominantly Turkic as well.

There was no Kurdish empire since bing bang :) :) :)

Kurds have a long story of discrimination in Turkey, there even was a ban on Kurdish language. Have no idea who may deny these very well known facts. You may pretend that the Turkish army fought not against Kurds but against some "terrorirsts" without nationality (Martians), but this is so... improper and unpresentable. Just funny.

But in general all that has nothing to do with Russia. It's not our business.
Russia solves problems in Syria. And Russia does that successfully. Putin doesn't give a sh*t what is your backyard from your point of view. Turkey is neither Russia's enemy nor is its friend. Kremlin realises that very well. It just keeps an eyey on you and that's all.

"Banning a language"? Like preventing 15 million people from speaking their native? Sounds too Sovietic to me but the fact of the matter is Soviets couldn't reach out that far to Anatolia to assimilate our Kurds by cruel Stalinist methods. What in fact has happened here is Kurdish having remained as unrecognized as an "official language" for years. That's actually why we've had all that sh.t from the EU. Get your facts straight first and don't forget: A language cannot be banned from being spoken by millions, unless of course Stalin or Hitler is in charge. Your man Assad doesn't even give "citizenship" to Kurds. Why don't we start talking about that a little.

A person with knowledge for sure : )

You should learn the following urgently before trying to be funny here:

    -Nationality
    -Nation
    -Ethnicity
    -Ethnic
    -Ethnic group

Yes you are and I'm not complaining... More to enjoy down there : )

Sure it hasn't... How in the world would terrorists have anything to do with a country that allows them having contact offices right in the middle of their capital? That would have been totally absurd...

I know right... With 19 downed aircraft, hundreds of casualties, a sunk intelligence ship with many personnel in it, having lost many diplomats, undermining a supposed partner's (Iran) geopolitical positioning and having caused loss of many Persian lives, holding Assad's leash tight on not crossing the damn river but sending hundreds of pro-Assad fighters to Deir Ez Zor -not once but twice- and watching them getting slaughtered by America each time, having so inefficient diplomacy with Turks that they had to enter Syria to eliminate threats, inviting Syrian separatist terrorists to Sochi and then when Turks asked what the heck was that calling the attendance an "intrusion"...

Yes... Russia solves problems in Syria and it does that successfully: Turn Syria into a sh.t hole = problem solved... lol...

I don't have such a point of view but nice try...

I think Kremlin should worry more about keeping not just an eye but both eyes on Israeli attacks on Russian ally Hezbollah militants in Syria.
    ;)

What Stalinist methods have to do with Turkey? Is Turkey a Stalinist country?
"Speaking Kurdish was illegal in Turkey until 1991." This is not Stalinist methods. This is something from Medieval ages.

That's what I'm saying, since we never had to live under Stalinist or Hitlerist rule, their sick methods to assimilate ethnic people -via death camps/work camps- have never been used on these soils... Only pro-US coup of 1980 systematically conducted some brain-washing methods to turn ""some"" (few thousands out of millions) Kurds against the Turkish nation on purpose to create a base for PKK to pick amongst for the fight against the Turkish state. This systematic implication was not just to "depopulate" these "tribal" poor Kurdish people accordingly but as well getting out all the bloodshed a desired societal structure the west have long been pushing for: A secular, less populous, and individualistic society that welcomes pro-western rule in the name of liberty.
Note that all PKK members are from big tribal families made up of thousands of relatives and almost each of them have 10-12 siblings. They have lived in a very collective closed society before having joined to PKK and got indoctrinated by "manipulated" Marxist teachings of Ocalan which have eventually helped turning them -tho in its littlest sense- into individuals of a society which is also state capitalist, individualistic, and pro-open economy with a presidential dicta. These individuals were pretty much invested and funded by the west, transformed by the Turkish state's operations of 80s and 90s, and now are ready to start making of the population of the country that is tried to be established right on the stolen lands of Syria... Turkish state has changed hands, now being governed by national consciousness and demands fulfillment of its geopolitical needs while on the other hand Russia is protecting this pure western agenda by playing the "buffer force" in between the state actors which are tend to spark a war in the region as their interests clash... Russia sells Iran out to Israel, stabs Turks behind their backs, gets Assad's fighters killed by the US, and helping the west establishing a pro-western puppet state right in the middle of the hell...

And trolls like you since don't even have the littlest clue regarding any historical backgrounds of the region's societies only try selling Russia as something else like anybody would care to buy... I appreciate the effort tho, lol...

    As per the language BS:

It's clearly NOT ""speaking"" that was illegal, but the "broadcasting" and "educational use" of the language...
Our "modern democratic secular constitution" states on ARTICLE 66:

"Everyone bound to the Turkish State through the bond of citizenship is a Turk. The child of a Turkish father or a Turkish mother is a Turk. Citizenship can be acquired under the conditions stipulated by law, and shall be forfeited only in cases determined by law. No Turk shall be deprived of citizenship, unless he/she commits an act incompatible with loyalty to the motherland. Recourse to the courts in appeal against the decisions and proceedings related to the deprivation of citizenship shall not be denied."

Therefore we never had to "ban them from speaking Kurdish". If we did, (like today's Chechens, Tatars, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Mongols, Gagaus, and tons of many other ethnicity's majority who cannot even speak a word in their natives but Russian because of "generations long cruel assimilation" conducted by Russian dominant Soviet regime) Kurdish would definitely too be disappeared. But instead, we made necessary changes and today Kurdish is freely taught "in its own original alphabet" in many learning centers and Universities all around Turkey. But guess what, many of them centers have had to shut down in time due to lack of interest because people honestly don't care about learning Kurdish and many do know how they are tried to be used against Turks by some moron trolls : )

    Have good day sir...

Sigh where did those kids get that vehicle mounted mortar? I feel like a parent that wants to tell them that guns are dangerous don't play with them. They paid the price.

@goody I have been enjoying yalls debate but in the end your all smoke and mirrors in this one argument at this time. Walls of text that eventually got you cornered. Just this situation.

    Here's why.

When you finally answered the direct question of what Turkey was doing in Syria your response was " We are here to secure our borders" Implying I think existing borders right? That's not true.

Because your Supreme overlord Erdogan states differently and Turkeys actions in Syria say differently. Erdogan was using the Kurds or YPG in Northern Syria as an excuse to invade take key cities and not give them back. Turkey has long felt those lands rightfully belong to them. It's infantile in its transparency.

Daesh is dead it appears in Syria yet we the United States have not left. We are most definitely for now defending the Kurds who killed more ISIS than anyone. Erdogan looked stupid saying he was going to attack Kurds under our umbrella. Stupid and weak.

I think that pro Assad instant 100 dead plus equipment of Russian mercs/Assad forces that resulted from them barely throwing a firecracker at one of our protected compounds gave Erdogan a reality check.

Turkey isn't going to do anything while we are there nothing because if they did NATO Ally or not we would blow them straight to hell without even breaking a sweat. And he knows it.

Erdogan is such a wanna be big boy on the block. Bored with him. Runs his mouth constantly and all he can do is publicize killing kids in a jeep popping off a single mortar and running off.

Erdogan is a joke. Turkey is a joke. Don't agree? Attack the Kurds we are protecting and find out. Or go find some more kids to kill. Thatll prove how tough Turkey is. Snorts

Aside from complete meaningless word groups put together to produce one of the worst troll factory products, I think there's only one stupid moron: The one who can't even pose as American with sh.t looking language he fakes as native. So sad... And I doubt he's Erdogan.

Stalin didn't bar any language. There are 123 languages spoken in the Russian Federation today, and as far as I know they are taught in school as well. How many languages are taught in Turkey? By the way, what happened to the millions of Christian Armenians, Christian Assyrians, Christian Pontian Greeks, Christian Anatolian Greeks and Christian Greeks of Constantinople?

As for Assad giving citizenship, has Turkey given citizenship to the Syrian refugees?

From the article, it seems the Kurds didn't want Syrian troops originally. I know they were begging for them these past days. The battles there are very fierce, and over 1 million people are in danger.
