They didn't want serial killers of children and women to avoid the death penalty. The law was going to allow these folks to be free to live the rest of their lives in prison while our tax dollars pay for their stay, 3 hots and a cot.

Just making a general statement. Tulsi posted that before this story.

FYI—not all conservatives are rednecks with a southern accent. Other countries have their share of uneducated man-children. Muslim countries have more than their share.

Trump doesn't want bad things for LGBTQ. He expressed his wishes that everyone in the Pulse nightclub had had a gun. Me too. Harm shouldn't come to people for minding there own business, doing their thing, and harming nobody.

This isn't about his base. This is about empowering tyrants. He supports strong men, authoritarianism, and totalitarianism. He is secretly cutting deals with these pukes.

Doesn’t matter. Everybody knows Trump and anyone who likes anything Trump does hates gays. It’s just a fact. :) /s

On the contrary, those shrill SJW's bleating about 'islamophobia' are the ones who support the killing of gays.

As usual, you've overly simplified the issue.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc...-clarifies-un-vote-death-penalty-gays-n807151

"There's been some misreporting and misconceptions," Stern told NBC News. "The U.S. always opposes this death penalty resolution, because it makes reference to a global moratorium on the death penalty. For both Obama and Trump, so long as the death penalty is legal in the U.S., it takes this position."

Okay, read the Resolution as I have and you will see that Article is a disengenuous attempt at sugar coating. The resolution did not call for a blanket ban on the death penalty at all. It specifically related to minority groups (including gays,) there was a reference to women, discrimination and mentally impacted people. There is no reference at all to a global moratorium.

Show me where, in the Resolution, this is founded ~ "We voted against that resolution because of broader concerns with the resolution’s approach in condemning the death penalty in all circumstances, and it called for the abolition of the death penalty altogether."

Nowhere in that Resolution could I find any references to abolition of the death penalty altogether, or condemning the death penalty in all circumstances. If they are there, please quote them.

I've read it. Its a do-nothing resolution that serves only to virtue signal against the death penalty. Most of the cited grievances do not apply to the death penalty in the US. Of particularly noteworthy example:

" Deploring the fact that, frequently, poor and economically vulnerable persons and foreign nationals are disproportionately subjected to the death penalty, that laws carrying the death penalty are used against persons exercising their rights to freedom of expression, thought, conscience, religion, and peaceful assembly and association, and that persons belonging to religious or ethnic minorities are disproportionately represented among those sentenced to the death penalty"

Signing such a document, imo, is tantamount to admitting culpability in such atrocities. The death penalty is not executed on such a basis in the US and we thus have no business pretending like it is.

Given that even the Obama admin refused to participate in these charades by the UN, I don't see on what basis you conclude that Trump must want to execute gays because his administration similarly refuses to self-immolate in the virtue signalling circle jerk.
