What has the Democrat Party done for America?

What have they accomplished entitling them to take over seats?

To the second point, maybe you should reread my post, Democrats have not always been liberal or progressive, Dixiecrats are proof positive of this.The politics of that era haven't a thing to do with modern democrats however, quite the opposite in fact.

Well, primarily because they were opposed to the Civil Rights Act and were pro-segregation.

The southern democrats walked out of that years DNC in protest over civil rights being introduced to the platform. Those then southern democrats are modern day southern conservatives.

Then why did they only run one person, for one office, in one year.....they didn't run state, local or Congressional leaders....and were welcomed back in with open arms, and went willingly. They were no modern day southern conservatives...because conservatives don't support and have never supported the massive Govt intervention that liberals support...and conservatives, the Republicans, have support Civil Rights since the tehy passed the 13th Amendment.

I think you under estimate the effect Gavin newsome will have on districts in California. The power is off in California and people are angry.

 

One can't. It is impossible to "dump" or "overthrow" the Democrat party. As you say there are tens of millions of people who would not stand for it. It has to be defeated -- and roundly so -- politically.

Me neither. It would be a multi-year, maybe decades, effort. Plus, it is not obvious that the Republicans and Independents, as a whole, would be up for it. I said what has to be done to save the republic; it didn't say it was likely.

 

And Lincoln would be a Democrat today.
