    Can you support your claim?

IMO, redlining was the biggest damage done to the black communities.

No, it was the institution of the Welfare State. You conveniently forgot it was designed to break up the family.

Democrats? They'd be thrilled with a national election. A republican would never sit in the Oval again.

State's rights is one of my biggies. If you take away their ability to choose their electors in any way they choose, it becomes a national election with a popular vote.

    NO, NO, No, no no!!!!

    State's rights for the win!!!!!

You got me on the wording (which doesn't add to a hill of beans). So when your parents are dead your government has a right to enslave you. That's what I thought.

you're being silly now. If Pennsylvania decides it wants to hold it's certification until after it sees what other states have done, that's right by you? I guess so.

I think if the people of state A decide they want to have a poker tourney to decide, they have every right to do so.

State's rights. Always. Get the fed out of our lives. Example - get rid of the secretary of education and let state's decide how to educate their children.

State's should have every right to govern themselves, outside of what clearly is the purview of the fed, as designed in the constitution.

If Allah is what you believe, so be it.
    But,
i am not aware of any thing changing on a whim in our society. It takes laws. It takes being within the framework of the constitution.
Neither of those allows changes on a whim. And our constitution guarantees freedom of religion and freedom from religion. But our laws and constitution have no basis in any human god.

The only constant in this world is change. Change or die. There's no reason to be locked into the 1700s or any time era.

We did return them all, and all 60 signatures were verified and counted. I'm not sure how Trump won, tbh, all my neighbors got at least 40 at their house, and I live in loony-leftyville. ;)

    Seriously, so not an issue.

The system used to be awful. I mean, disgusting, racist levels of awful.

I had a BFF in the late 80's, who was struggling as a single mother. (I'll keep this as short as possible.)

    - The father worked for cash, and every time she brought him to court for support, he got "fired," and was assigned no fiscal responsibility.
    - Her sister kicked her and her baby out, because she didn't earn enough, because she had to take care of a daughter
    - She found a job and an apartment, and it would have enabled her to have a place to live, food, day care, and not dependent on the government
    - Went to welfare office and they told her she didn't qualify if she had a job. She wanted help for two months, to get things going.
    - Her response? I need help; is there anything I can do? Welfare office? Change your skin color.
    - She had to quit the job and lived in her car, so sorting things through took years, instead of one quarter. I could not help her, or I would have.
    - Awful time in my life. (More so, hers.)

We aren't there anymore. We've made fantastic strides. I don't see lobster being purchased with EBT anymore, where it used to be a regular thing.

It's not perfect, and so many make progress/better, the enemy of good.

In theory, but in all actuality, before the 1996 reforms, which I fully supported, BTW, many people made it a lifestyle. Same is true with the $600 bump in UE. And that's the concern that McConnell has with it.

IMO, the problem with most every gov't program, is they need to be designed for 100% of the population.
There is no system that can fit 100% of anything, but we get what we get.
The system is good for a great many. A great many can escape the system as well.
But there is always a % of those that just can't gain traction because the system can't deal with individual cases.
There's a damned if you do, damned if you don't catch in these types of systems. They're to rigid to accommodate certain situations and conditions.

And this is why I don't advocate the "one size fits all" approach that Liberals seem to love.

A government that can't be nuanced, is not a fair system at all.

One size fits all works for muumuus, and not much else. People know this. Child A who is a straight A student that never has a sick day, or gets a detention, cannot be treated like Child B, who regularly fails tests, and doesn't do homework.

We know this stuff. Why do we treat each other as the same?

    :applause:

Consumer debt is a major problem that MUST be addressed. It was medical bills because I could not afford health insurance that pushed me over the edge. From that point onwards I have always paid my credit cards in full every month. I do not have a mortgage or a car payment since both were paid in full when I purchased them.

Found a GP that took me off the bulk of my Rx medications and I feel a lot better as a result. This defensive medicine nonsense is causing more problems than it solves.

Since starting on MJ I have reduced my evening cocktails to just twice a week. I am aiming for once a week. I sleep better and have a healthier lifestyle because I am no longer being overmedicated.
