So far, a Hawaiian born, partly African, partly Caucasian,US President has managed to lie almost as much as most of the former All Caucasian/European US presidents have.

IMO, it is now fact, that an African US president can achieve the same level of rhetoric and hyperbole, as any former Caucasian US president has achieved, and he can also support the Military Industrial and Oil Complex and do what he is told to do, ignoring majority opposition of the people,, violating the US Constitution, just like all his Caucasian predecessors did.

He has proved to the Bilderbergs, that Africans are just as capable a puppet as any other race, most especially as much as Corporate Capitalist Caucasians are.

Agreed. If liberals were not both so racist and terrorized of being called racists, THEY would have dumped this colossal failure. More than a few on the LEFT have suggested he go home and NOT run for reelection.

    Nicely stated...

Do you think since Obama is Black that a revived portion of our population was hoping that this president would not follow in lockstep with other presidents? That instead of senseless wars, and international chest-pounding, and military/CIA/Homeland Security rising expenditures, that more attention would have been focused on domestic issues?

I swear the day after Obama was sworn into office, in fact the morning of the very next day, the power players cornered him and he bought into the status quo and became a puppet...

Why did a previous republican president get a free pass for a second term in office?

He had the 110th Congress (Jan 2007-Jan 2009) with the House and Senate in Democrat control.
He had the 111th Congress (Jan 2009-2011) with the House and Senate in more control of The Democrat Party.
He has the 112th congress, (Jan 2011-Jan 2013) since Jan 3 2011, which is split between the Republican House and the Democrat Senate. The Republican House has debated, voted on, and passed numerous bills, including spending cuts, deficit reductions, the repeal of all parts of obamacare, and A BUDGET. All of the House bills have been sent on to the Senate as per LAW. The Senate has not brought ANY of the House bills to the Senate floor. They have not had the bill read in the Senate, not had any discussion, or debates about any House bills and they have not voted on any House bills OR any similar bills of their own.

The same stupid electorate we have today.

IMO the collective we are simply incapable of doing better! We're not very smart, and most of us are heavily biased towards religion or party politics or Oprah or whatever special interest du jour. Obviously there is no fix for this other than to hope another 100+ years of evolution in the right direction.

Without getting into the pros and cons of our current president, just on the surface, this nation elected arguably the least qualified and least experienced president in recent history. Why do we do this??

Primarily because, in spite of his faults, he was a far better choice than Scary Kerry! DUH!

I cannot answer the question, nor argue with the premise. But I might ask, is obama the least experienced and least qualified in RECENT history? Or in all of US history?

100 years forward? Your answers would be better found 100 years back. Progressivism.

Actually, you have a point ... Obama did have less experience, at least in terms of government service.

I think that's part of his appeal. Everybody likes to claim some amount of maverick status (while at the same time trying to be populist and establishment as well -- it's tricky). But we're ALL sick of the establishment, and Obama seemed like the least establishment-oriented of the available candidates. It's exactly why I favored him over Hilary.

It's that "Chicago" thing that his opposition keeps bringing up as though it's a negative. We've done things the Washington way forever. It's gotten really annoying. Giving Chicago a try seemed like it might be a nice change of pace.

So far, it hasn't really been enough of a change ... but hey, eventually the influence will move as far west as Seattle, and then you'll see some stuff. :)

Even if we don't consider any history...why does the US electorate elect a president with basically zero qualifications and zero experience?

    Because he is Black?

Because we're too stupid or self-serving to objectively analyze the candidates?

'Progressivism' is not an excuse for our collective ignorance and self-serving behavior. 99% of us are too stupid to think on our own so we get all of our information from religion and politics, and let this dogma decide for us what to do.

Going backwards serves zero purpose! Somewhere in the 'future' is the ONLY place we can effect some change...if we desire change...

Obama led people to believe he was outside the establishment but 10 minutes after taking office, Obama was solidly inside the establishment.

So...in the future we should not think about inside/outside the establishment; we should select our president based on the perceived qualifications of the JOB...

Which reminds me of my original reaction to the question posed in the title of this thread - what could the color of the skin of a president possibly have to do with how well the man has performed for the nation???

It originally struck me as sounding as ridiculous as being asked how well that green skinned phone performs as compared with its silver and black skinned alternative. Well, other than possibly losing the former in the grass a bit more often, I doubt we could really tell much difference when it gets down to things important to phone users.

Of course, in an America where the there is a political advantage in creating a psychological hypersensitivity to phone color, there would be a great many people who would almost certainly regard the overall performance of one colored phone as superior to the other one, owing to little more than the perceived color distinction. And that, in spite of the strangely overlooked fact fact that the underlying electronics were identical! We live in a land of politically motivated BS!

I actually believe we live in a land of xenophobia, governed by dogma from religion and special interests, and this evolves into politically motivated BS...

That's all? (*)(*)(*)(*)...I'll never meet my quotas that way! I think I need a "team". What are your suggestions on constructing one?

I'm hamstrung by logic and reason, so there are no suggestions I could make that a liberal would understand. I don't speak the language of LaLaLand.
