Indeed. Think also about the other side of this sadness... Folks elated that there are terrorist ties. Why would we even be on certain sides to begin with? How sad is that?

Yet unlike the Muslim-bashers here, no one is accusing any of these nuts of being "part of a vast right wing army." Some of us live in the real world, basing our views on facts rather than angry ideology.

Elated? Sorry, can't find a one. People are mostly justified in what they thought the second the bombing occurred. Islamic terrorists. Can't find anyone here HAPPY that its a terrorist, but there are sure PLENTY that are sad that its not a white, republican tea party member. MSNBC and a few web sites are certainly VERY upset that they lost out on loads of web traffic as soon as the names were released. I can imagine their collective...."OH CRAP" when they read the headlines. They don't care about the deaths or the act. They only want the sensationalism that a white christian would've brought to the table. Now that its exactly what most thought, we can only hope the guy gets a bullet to the head at worst, or we capture and question the waste of skin, perhaps water board the scumbag.

    What facts would those be?

We look around the world and Islam sewing terror and oppression.

Only a crazy person would think that doesn't apply here

Put down the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Kool-Aid for once. In such as Egypt, Nigeria, Indonesia, and other third world nations where Muslims and Christians co-habitate, which religion is killing the other ? And it ain't close !!

Economics has not one damn thing to do with it.

Oh, the 9/11 hijackers hardly operated independently of the command structure ...

On the contrary, only a crazy person would jump to conclusions without evidence. You represent the overly angry and reactive torch-and-pitchfork mentality all too well.

Breivik chose to be baptized at age 15. He self-identified as “Christian” on his Facebook page. He thought “Christianity should recombine under the banner of a reconstituted and traditionalist Catholic Church” or, later, under a new (traditionalist) European Church.

Breivik is not an American-style evangelical Christian. He is not a “fundamentalist” in that sense. Though he does identify with American cultural Christian conservatives. And he considers himself to be fighting in the name of “our Christian cultural heritage.” He supports a reconstituted Knights Templar devoted to winning a war against Islam in the name of Christianity.

    http://www.salon.com/2011/07/26/breivik_christian/

The fact that someone calls himself religious does not necessarily mean his attacks are religiously inspired. Even Breivik, who was apparently fighting for Christianity against Islam, could hardly be accused of acting out on the basis of Christianity itself.

These Boston bombers may have called themselves Muslim, yet that does not mean that Islam made them act out. They were a couple of troubled young men who bear features common to the young terrorists who have emerged from our own culture, and from Europe as well.

But your interest is, like Breivik's, in hating Islam first and foremost. You'll use any possible example you can find to attack Islam as a whole. It's no better than slamming Christianity because Breivik embraced Christianity, at least culturally if not evangelically. It's a simplistic, ignorant thing to do.

It's painfully obvious that the "ideology" subscribed to by both brothers is AQ's. They praise AQ and Bin Laden in their social media posts while calling for the imposition of a global Islamic caliphate. Their attack on civilian targets, their suicidal and apocalyptic resistance to law enforcement, all of these are hallmarks of AQ brainwashing. Unless law enforcement finds some hard ties to AQ commanders/operatives (doesn't seem likely), it'll be pretty safe to assume that their radicalization occurred via internet-based social media outlets, same as Major Hassan. This is a very effective strategy for AQ to employ. They get to claim credit for the attack but there is no operative or commander to tie it to. It's just a random act of senseless violence done in AQ's name. How to combat this? Beat them at their own game. We are the creators of these social media platforms, we should be able to enter the arena and counter their brainwashing using public-private partnerships. Just my two cents, anyway.... :D

 Your thinking is what is dangerous. Quit hating people according to labels. In fact, quit hating people, period. You contribute to what is wrong here by your attitude.

Actually, I am elated because once again that segment of the left that was wishing it was an anti-government, anti-tax white Protestant, has been shown to be full of (*)(*)(*)(*).

Its an "I love my country" thing.

Link? Google is not confirming your claims for me.

    Well, except maybe here:

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...ve-influenced-boston-s-tsarnaev-brothers.html

The YouTube page allegedly belonging to Tsarnaev is the second clue that the Boston Marathon bombers may have been motivated by the ideology of Osama bin Laden. The type of bomb used in the attack utilized a pressure cooker as a timer; al Qaeda’s online English-language Web magazine, Inspire, features instructions on making a pressure-cooker bomb in its debut issue. The pressure-cooker bombs are also used by insurgents in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.

This does make a good argument for their having been al Qaeda-inspired terrorists.
