    Umpqua Community College is not really near town. It is on the outskirts. Unless an officer was in the immediate vicinity, it would take time for them to get to the scene.

    And you do? I mean, going by your logic is could easily be a million or TEN million. Hell, it could be any time someone walked out a door and decided NOT to go shoot people by your logic, which is about the most illogical thing I can even conceive of.

    Nobody is counting all the times mass shootings were prevented and somehow nobody knew about it, no.

    Look, your whole point is that a sign cannot really prevent you from bringing a gun into a gun free zone, so this applies to ALL people, whether they have a CCW or not.

    They're not being prevented is the point. If concealed carry prevented mass shootings you'd have none. Countries that don't allow concealed carry (Canada, UK and most others) don't have mass shootings to the degree the US does. It's not even close. The only difference is the proliferation of guns, legal and otherwise, being used to do the mass shootings.

    Well, hell, why not 900, or 900 million, you can cite any number you want by this "logic"

    This is like the figures I see on how much crime is prevented by our armed citizenry. Going by some of them every person in the USA has a robbery attempted on them three times every day, and twice that on Sunday.:roll:

    The school used a scare tactic against students to keep them from possessing firearms and that is wrong. In 2011 Oregon ruled colleges could not stop students from carrying and they still had this up on their website up to today.

    Nope, but then I'm not the one claiming to know the number of 'mass shootings' which have been prevented. Is there something wrong with wanting someone to be able to demonstrate the accuracy of their claim?

    And what's your point?

    Campus security is often armed. I be either they or the police took him out... with a gun .... if he didn't off himself. .

    Who knows...maybe it is 900 or 900 million.

    Point is, if I was in an area where some crazy with a gun was randomly killing people, I would rather have a gun in my hands than hiding under a desk. I am a law abiding citizen. Banning me from having a gun is not going to stop someone that is looking for their 15 minutes of fame (or infamy) from getting their hands on a gun if they are intent to do so. People this set on creating mayhem would likely even find other ways to do their deed if they could not get their hands on a gun.

    "possession of" so it was by the school, but not by the government.

    All campuses in Oregon do not allow weapons inside of buildings. I do not know if UCC has banned weapons on campus as many campuses in Oregon do. Since weapons are not allowed in buildings....and since most if not all classes are held inside of buildings, it is doubtful that anyone was carrying a gun. So, basically, it was a "gun free zone".
