MSM is for chumps, so you wont find me sniffing around there.
Who said anything about more opportunities? The quotes are basically saying "we have the same possibility of learning elsewhere, but without discrimination". He's playing the discrimination card, not the "opportunity" card.

No, I mean Qatar is harboring and supporting terrorism. And now, the clock boy Ahmed went there to study how to.

Agreed, juveniles say some stupid things. In this case it's the repetition of the threats, then bringing the convincing props all on top of the family's history of terror theater for fun and profit.

The police and school administration knew the history at the onset they in my, opinion, acted professionally and with restraint.

    Cheers

Exceptional in harboring the deprived and oppressed. Yes, the American Dream is still alive and well, barrage of criticism and envy notwithstanding.

Interesting that the clock boy was not deprived, nor oppressed. You do not see many Legal Immigrants to America beatching at it, do you?

WTF the percentages have to do with opportunities? Do tell :wall:

Discrimination card notwithstanding, there's definite opportunity for Ahmed and his family. To be educated free of charge, to study Islam from the best and to be somewhat of a National celebrity.

You asked what Latin Americans thought of the US. They like us just fine. I showed everyone on this forum what a completely illiterate post looks like. I can't help it if you are uneducated on this topic and yet insist on throwing out your willfully ignorant opinion on a topic you clearly know nothing about. Every country with any form of international power has used and abuse that power. The US isn't some lone example of this Considering your from the UK you shouldn't be lecturing the US on their past foreign policy. Its a hell of a lot better than the past foreign policy of your country. Now go whine and (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) somewhere else because the adults are talking here.

Yep, it is alive and well and we're living it. Most of these who immigrated here legally, that is.

    Trust me :)

Depennds on how you define suspicious. From the ultra conservative standpoint, it is anyone who does not talk, act, or think like them.

Another personal attack. You're doing well. As for being "uneducated" one pathetic poll doesn't imbue you with deep knowledge. While we're playing poll tennis here's one for you: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=l...vO2Mr2oAM:&usg=__5oO5M7LexssMlhQHnUfmCcyTAsE=
And an article to entertain you: http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/brlatinamericara/328.php?lb=brla

Most Latin Americans like Americans as a people, but not the actions of the government. If you go to Bolivia, for instance, or Columbia or Costa Rica, or Argentina, and speak to people who are 50 and plus, you will get an earful if you press them in asking what they think about the U.S.

Most Americans are not happy with the US government. But most of us like our country just fine. Its a distinction without a difference. Everyone complains about the government no matter who is in charge. Also, its convenien that you selected the few countries that don't like us. Why didn't you mention Brazil or Mexico or any of the other LA countries for that matter?

Some of you are so obsessed, if I was American I would be embarrassed by your childish pathetic vilification of a 14 year old.

What did he actually do that warrants "your" vile hatred of him?

So your president commented and invited him to the White House (along with many other children.) MIT praised him. Facebook and Microsoft got in on the act. So why is this his fault?

No doubt there would be cheers from "you" lot if he got run over and died tomorrow. Your countries founders would be turning in their graves. I reckon you lot are just jealous children. There is something seriously wrong when a family is hounded out of your country. No doubts many threats were made against the family and it would be a danger for them to stay.

My poll from 2013 your poll from 2007 and your idiotic attempt and posting a bunch of polls backfired because the first two showed favorable ratings including worldwide. Despite our flaws most people recognize the US for what it is the primary bastion of democracy. God knows you Europeans don't do (*)(*)(*)(*) anymore. We had to clean up your (*)(*)(*)(*)ing mess in the 1990s because you were to lazy to do it yourselves.

All of your posts are just bitter resentful little hissy fits. None of them actually contribute to the knowledge base. Your posts add literally add nothing to the discussion except constantly (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and whining ALL the time. If you can't add an actual fact based argument then get out and leave the discussion to people that don't (*)(*)(*)(*) and moan all the time. *whiiiiiiiiiiineeeeee*

The kid was a complete fraud. He claimed he made a clock even though it is undeniable now that all he did was take apart an old alarm clock and stick it in a pencil case for some inexplicable reason. He even admitted in his own youtube video that it looked suspicious. In this day and age you DO NOT take something that most people think looks like a bomb to a school. For crying out loud we have kids suspended for taking plastic clear squirt guns and plastic picnic untensils and my favorite was the dad who left his fishing knife in the car.....the kid didn't even take it in the school it was in the car. He whines and pisses about being treated like a suspect AFTER he takes a dismantled clock inside a case into a school. He is a hack.

"Bastion of democracy"!:roflol: Tell that to any nation where you destroyed a democratically elected government and installed US-compliant dictators in its place. Shall we start with Iran in 1953?

And before you mention it I'm not absolving the UK from guilt.

Yes, and he had the police called onto him and was suspended but police charges dropped. And for this reason the family deserves the vile hatred and the hounding out of the family. Disgusting childish behaviour which your founders fought against. No doubt death threats were made to the family.
What has this got to do with him? "You're" getting more and more desperate.

Ironic since we did that at the behest of YOUR government when Iran took over YOUR oil properties. As I said the US as with any country has made stupid decisions. You keep mentioning Latin America, what you seem to be leaving out is that virtually every single country in LA is now a democracy.......precisely because after WW2 and the Cold War the US shifted its policy from security to democratic promotion. It is because of US intervention and involvement that democracy has taken over the LA region. They don't call it the "third wave of democratization" for nothing. Add that to the helping defeat Hitler and ending the Soviet Union and the US has done far more good in the world than harm.

    - - - Updated - - -

He knew better than to take that fraud of a contraption in the school. He admitted that it looked suspicious and he took it anyways. His family doesn't deserve the vitriol but that idiotic kid does. 14 is plenty old enough to know not to take something that could be mistaken for a bomb to a school.........he admitted it himself.

Did you ask the nations which you 'democratised' whether they wanted your intervention? The Soviet Union imploded when the price of oil dropped through the floor and the economy tanked leaving the country bankrupt. Of course you'll be suggesting that Reagan brought down the USSR. http://www.theoildrum.com/node/7878

The cold war and the west brought down the USSR. The main western actor in the cold war was the USA so yeah, Reagan as the acting prez when it happened got hte credit, just like BO got the credit for Bin Laden even though most of the work was done under Bush.

He did not admit that. Exactly the opposite. He said that he did not put a lock on it because he did not want it to look suspicious.

Exactly my point. Why would a lock versus a string make anything look suspicious if it already wasn't suspicious looking to begin with.. If you put a lock on a door no one thinks its suspicious. If you put a lock on a bike no one thinks its suspicious. He obviously thought that it was suspicious enough in and of itself that he decided to not use a lock.

Everything that kid says needs to be treated as a potential lie. If he lied about making the clock and his dad lied about waking up to it most mornins (Ahmed claimed he made it the night before) then why on earth would I believe anything that comes out of any member of that family.

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/16/us/texas-student-ahmed-muslim-clock-bomb/

So did he "invent" his clock the night before or did he make it awhile back and use it on a daily basis prior to that. Someone should tell that family that next time they want to cry "balloon boy" they should get their stories straight.

He deserves all the grief he can get and that family can't leave this country fast enough.

Why would we ask them about their opinion? Its the job of the President to secure national interests. During WW2 and the Cold War national security was the primary interest. With the communist threat removed now the interest has focused on building economic and diplomatic ties and promoted democracy. And yes democracy (spread by the US) is widely popular in Latin America even if it has corruption issues. In fact massive grassroots anti-corruption movements are formed on the US model.
