Everyone in Latin America has a complaint about the United States government just as everyone in America has a complaint about the government. Does not mean that either side hates the country. Latin American people do not like big countries, whether it is the United States, Spain, or Russia to dictate their affairs or who should be their next El Presidente, etc. That is where their beef comes from. But as a people generally, most there like Americans as a people. Most expats who live in those respective countries provide, generally, positive role models of how Americans should react to world events.
Sure, but that's one kid out of many arrests in the US. That's one hell of gamble. I doubt that any kids that also want that opportunity would risk building something that "could be mistaken for a bomb" and be arrested on the off chance they find fame. I'm also not sure that the same events would unfold even if they did take that risk.
It's certainly a sign of just how mature, masculine, and righteous these alleged men are in going after this kid. 10/10.
Ahmed the clock boy continue making the news... : The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2015 There are sportsmen, public speaking teens, musicians, actors, a conservationist, an inventor and so on. And making the list and occupying slot #5 is our Ahmed the clock boy, praised for starting a national debate over racial profiling. How come he is not praised for meeting with an African Dictator, indicted for various crimes? And there's no mention of the boy skipping United States for the Kingdom where personal freedoms are not practiced? WTF kind of role model he the (*)(*)(*)(*) is? Are you out of your mind, TIME? http://time.com/4081618/most-influential-teens-2015/
Well, it gets worse. This news story has over 200 emails from the Irving Police Department with other city officials, citizens, residents, and others weighing in on the clock situation. It is not good to say the least. I want to pay particular attention to this email sent by one of its own officers. It reads,
Do you think there are not millions, perhaps tens of millions of Americans who support the way the school and police handled this Ahmed the clock boy? These two hundreds letters from concerned citizens makes me laugh.
I don't think you read any of the emails. The emails varied from threats and pseudo threats to questions to criticism. Even the Irving PD and an assistant district attorney questioned the motive of the arrest. But what I think what the emails showed was confusion, concern, and bewilderment to the whole situation. It was handled badly from a PR perspective with some evidence of civil negligence on behalf of the school and the PD, especially racial profiling.
I think we need to be able to see Ahmed and sisters school discipline record. I'm thinking this isn't his first brush with drama of this type making the simple charge prudent and necessity. Cheers Labour
Moot point since it has nothing to do with the issue at hand. But nice failed attempt at character assassination though.
It's not a moot point. If the kid made prior threats then it would help explain the school's reaction when they saw him with bomb parts.
Nothing in the emails suggest otherwise and that information would have been in the police report from the very beginning which basically makes it a moot point. It is the grasping at straws argument. The public display of his school discipline record has nothing to do with the issue at hand. What people are looking for is the excuse to justify their position. If the kid had some discipline issues that had nothing, absolutely nothing, read no prior threats to anyone, it still would be to mock the kid anyway.
There was no "communist threat" and you, like most Americans, bought the lie. De-classified documents prove that the anti-Communist hysteria at the height of the Cold War was the result of exactly the same kind of insidious propaganda that convinced Americans that Saddam was a threat to world peace. Absolute nonsense. - - - Updated - - - Grow up.
