What does phaseout of expanded medicaid REALLY mean? Besides me being dead?

The expansion of medicaide, was the elimination of the means testing of RESOURCES. Thus, while it used to mean only 15oo in resources from all areas, to include your transportation, it is now only based on your INCOME.

So, the right wing, and Republicans, want those who get dread news of a new life threatening CHRONIC illness, to be CUT off, for six months, IN CALIFORNIA, and likely a year elsewhere, if more than 1500 dollars in resources are present. Thus, if you get a chronic diagnosis, you must impoverish yourself, THEN SURVIVE for six months, to reapply.

This is torture, and cruel. IT makes those that get dread illnesses, a VICTIM, an impoverished one. IT also impoverishes WHOLE families, thus making the whole family the victim. And, if you don't have family, that will take you in, on the street, with a chronic life threatening illness.

Thus, the only help you can get, is STABILIZATION, in the ER. Which is by federal unfunded mandate, put in place by REAGAN.

Thus, the right wing, and Republicans, use the UNFUNDED federal mandate, to supplant personal responsibility, that requires medical insurance, to those that can afford it.

So, to remain consistent, in their IDEOLOGY, they thrust an unfunded federal mandate, and in doing so, bankrupt our medical system of last resort, and the trauma capability of our entire country.

THIS IS WHACKED. Short sighted, and cutting off our noses to spite our faces.
