The store was open. Handicapped parking spaces offer more than just close proximity to the store entrance, specifically defined spaces also define 'clear zones' next to the space that the handicapped need to manouver their crutches, walkers and wheelchairs. They are also located so that curb cuts and ramps are immediately accessible. This is the type of handicapped space Sterling chose to deny a wheelchair bound shopper.

Had a handicapped person arrived to shop at this moment, with smart phone video running, this 'event' would have played out much differently. Sterling would have been slammed with negative press and may have been punished by the league.

The store was open. Sterling denied access to the store for handicapped citizens. There really is no excuse for this.

When the progressive stack came out during the occutard movement it was one of the most defining moments in the conversion from classic liberalism to the radical progressive cancer that infests the Left today.

What happens when park in a handicap spot? You get a ticket and your car might get towed.

Oh that's right white folks don't illegally park in handicap spots. Smfh.

He had his hands out of his pockets when he was talking to the single officer. He did not refuse to hand over his license. He went towards the car after being asked for his license. The officer then told him to back up from the car door and did not ask for his license again. He asked for his name and was told his name after which the officer went into a confused rant.

It's funny that people like you are still saying that he deserved to be tased and arrested when even the chief of police have stated that they were in the wrong. I notice that once again you have attacked blacks as if whites don't park in spaces where they are not supposed to park.

Which local law states that it is the responsibility of police officers to patrol car parks?

I doubt that he even watched the video, otherwise he would have known that the officer initially said 3, then changed it to 2 spaces

Looks like three from the photo I saw.

    Like it freakin matters anyways.

Parking in a handicap spot if you're not handicap or transporting a handicap person is illegal it doesn't matter if its one spot or 10.

You two have your lil toss off about two spaces vs three.

I'm just going to stay saying it was four.

FOUR spaces, he parked across FOUR spaces ...what a jackass.

The store was open. This is the parking for the store. More importantly the two spaces Sterling blocked were those configured for vans with wheelchair lifts. Notice the 'clear' zone between the two handicapped spaces, they offer the room necessary for wheelchairs and walkers and keep the space clear so no one parks so close it denies the handicapped person access to their vehicle, leaving them stranded.

Further, this looks like a Walgreens or similar pharmacy. Probably a place that sees a high volume of handicapped traffic?

So Roy, your saying handicapped people should not be out and about at 2 a.m.? Really, you want to stick with this attitude?

Lol, so your saying an athlete can't walk 20' to accommodate a handicapped citizen but someone born with say spina bifida has to labor that additional distance and navigate around his irregularly parked car?

    The world turned upside down.

Well, I didn't say that handicapped should not be out and about at 2 a. m. That was someone else (and I don't think that's what was said). What store was open? Doesn't matter. Key things are: 2 AM, length of time parked. Bottom line is the gentleman said to give him a ticket and wasn't giving the police a hard time and second, police knew they were wrong, which is why the admitted it

Two spaces and the 'clear zone' necessary for handicapped van lift operation. Your misleading obtuseness noted.

That's how racists try to justify the targeting of blacks. Racial profiling and prejudice within police departments both against the public and within the department itself is well documented

I never did myself. The police has grew to be a hindrance for the honest citizen rather than a service.

    The courts are no better.

no one is isnt disabled should park in a handicap spot, but people do, thats life. that said, this should have been a simple parking ticket, but the police had a bug up their backside, and then lied about it.

all this debate ia due to their mishandling of a parking ticket.

Length of time? So it's OK for a healthy professional athlete to deny a disabled person access to Walgreens for a short time? Interesting.

NO that's not what we are saying. We are saying issue a routine ticket like you would do for anyone else in this situation.

And if you think for a second that it's only black people that disobey police officers you are CLUELESS. Yet those never end in police murdering them why is that?

Gee, good thing it happened at 2AM, when the parkings were empty; If it happened during business hours he would probably would have been hanged on the nearest poplar tree.

They don't mess around with such a serious crime as parking violations down at Uncle Sam's.

I hope he sues their asses down to bankrupcy.
