Freedom takes many generations to obtain but only one generation to lose. Fact you think America will be a round for a log time makes me worried about what is going to happen to my country.

 

I'm not worried. I have faith in democracy. We have been much much much more divided than we are now.....and the republic has continued

 

It just seems very popular among democrats these days to say they are for gun rights but behind the scenes say they have to say that because they have to fool old people to vote for them.

I'm sure you will not support people who lie like that.

Maybe... But democrats want to abolish the electorial college and destroy the Republic and install mob rule. I'm sure you will speak out against democrats who want to abolish the electorial college and end our Republic. I won't hold my breath though...

I'm not talking about the actual dixiecrat party, but rather Southern democrats who were opposed to civil rights reform. That belief system never left and perpetuated through the Jim Crow era and into today. Except today, they're flying a different banner.

Conservatism, as an ideology, is quite literally antithetical to the progressive movements that brought voting rights to minorities. Simply take a look around the world at other hyper-conservative states and it's quite clear their agenda is to maintain the status-quo and cling to spiritual dogma.

The party names may have changed, but the policies they endorse and the root goals of conservatism and for that matter, liberalism have not.

That's not what we say at all. We say more guns prevent gun death. When the citizen is capable of defending him or herself that make them much harder to victimize.

 

He's right. The 60s were pretty divided.

You do not see democrats posting on this forum about how horrible the electorial colleges and how they want to scrap it?

 

Some may have promised that but there has not been an actual small government proponent since Reagan, and prior to him you have to go back to Coolidge, though Eisenhower is a definite maybe. Trump is a probable, but the jury is still out and everybody puts roadblocks in the way. He hated having to sign the massive spending bill, but the Republican congress forced him to.

 

Republicans are not known for logic.
