And my post was to show that Republicans aren't even TRYING

They have had both Houses of Congress for two years as well as the Presidency.

    No wall.

All they have done was harass immigrants and split up families as a punishment

YOU didn't adress the open borders policies. SANCTUARY LAWS. YOU addressed the IMMIGRATION policies that the open borders policies directly subvert. Must I explain all your OWN posts to you as well? :confuse:

    NOT. TRUE.

That is a lie perpetrated by extreme right wing websites like Dailywire to further divide people for the Russians, and believed by gullible and easily duped tools.

    Ahhh sanctuary laws.

So you want my local tax dollars spent on a Federal issue.

What are we paying ICE and Homeland Security for?

You want to go round up 11 million people YOU appropriate the funding for it

And the radical Left insistence that citizenship would be given without securing the borders which means that in just a few years they would be faced with the same problem.

Please cite legislation that creates open borders.

Apparently it is I who must explain YOUR posts to YOU.
You said "Listen ... Democrats helped (Republicans?) write those irrational policies". WHAT "policies"? YOU said it. So now YOU explain it. WHAT. POLICIES?

In the face of that reality Repubs have little else they can do to distract the minion's attention away from their failures than make up lies about the Dem's position on border security.

Please characterize the issue honestly. The left does not insist that "citizenship would be given without securing the borders."

Not if we address HIRING. No jobs...no illegals.

But that would FIX the problem so that's not even discussed

No lie. CA allows anyone who illegally enters, to stay. It is CA law. CA does not allow employers to report suspected illegals. It is CA law. These are open border policies, there is no debating what is officially recorded as law in CA, and elsewhere.

Amazing that Democrats want to make an issue of this. It doesn't help them, but hey, if you guys want to bring up "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" right before an election, then have at it.

Simply put, Senate bill 744 was de facto open borders. It provided legalizing illegals here with no upper numerical limit. Given that we already had an amnesty bill in 1986, again, with the same promise to "tighten the border" after the amnesty, it was clearly a fake promise that was unenforceable. So, since 744 would have legalized every illegal since the last amnesty bill, how isn't that open borders? It means if you get here, then you can stay. I suppose technically you can say that Democrats are "wet foot/dry foot" advocates, however the difference isn't that great.

Ooops! You're derailing! The "lie about open border policies". Did I clearly explain what an open border policiy is? Any of my assertions incorrect? I want immigration law reformed, and I want all 50 states to comply with them. I want ICE notified, and detainers honored. I want illegals deported as prescribed by federal law. I want (D)'s to stop pretending that open borders policies don't exist.

They wanted to grant the citizenship first and then secure the borders.
I remember the arguments at the time and that was the arguments regardless of what your links says.. See what Lil Mike says above.
I have no problem with penalizing those who hire illegals.

Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act
    [IMG]
Full title To provide for comprehensive immigration reform and for other purposes.
    Colloquial name(s) The "immigration bill"
Introduced in 113th United States Congress
    Introduced on April 16, 2013
    Sponsored by Chuck Schumer (D-NY)

    Legislative history
The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 (S.744) was a proposed immigration reform bill introduced by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) in the United States Senate [1] and co-sponsored by the other seven members of the "Gang of Eight", a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators who wrote and negotiated the bill. It was introduced into the Senate of the 113th United States Congress on April 16, 2013.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings on the bill in April 2013.[2] The bill was voted out of Committee on May 21, 2013 and was placed on the Senate calendar.[3] On June 27, 2013, the Senate passed the bill on 68-32 margin. The bill was not considered by United States House of Representatives and died in the 113th Congress.

If enacted, the bill would have made it possible for many undocumented immigrants to gain legal status and eventually citizenship. It would have increased border security by adding up to 40,000 border patrol agents. It also would have advanced talent-based immigration through a points-based immigration system. New visas had been proposed in this legislation, including a visa for entrepreneurs and a W visa for lower skilled workers.[4] It also proposed new restrictions on H1Bvisa program to prevent its abuse and additional visas/green-cards for students with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees from U.S. institutions. The bill also included a $1.5 billion youth jobs program and repealed the Diversity Visa Lottery in favor of prospective legal immigrants who are already in the United States.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimated this reform bill would have reduced the U.S. fiscal deficit by US$197 billion over the next ten years and by $700 billion by 2033.[5] Its report also states that, if the bill had been passed, U.S. wages would have been 0.1 percent lower in 2023 and 0.5 percent higher in 2033 than under current law.[6] The Social Security Administration said that it would help add $276 billion in revenue over the next 10 years while costing only $33 billion.[7]

Why not just keep patting yourself on the back for debunking the "lie about open borders policies"? Sanctuary state ... de facto open border. Sanctuary law passed by Democratic legislature ... de facto policy.

Some have commented that this bill may be considered amnesty. This bill proposes earned legalization for illegal immigrants (they have to wait for 13 years, pay all back taxes, learn English, no legalization for people with criminal records, and citizenship or permanent residence only after the border becomes fully secure).

Boehner refused to bring it to a vote because he knew it would PASS...by bi-partisan vote...but refused to do so because it would have had more Dem votes than Republican

But wait...you claimed that you explained what "open borders" actually meant...obviously that was "not true". There is an L word I am not allowed to use that describes that
