Palestinians want freedom from occupation, Israel's war on Gaza, economic assault, ethnic cleanssing. Kushner offeres DOLLARS!!1 What an unbelievale DOLT. NOBODOY believes dollars are a substitute for freedom, for self determination, for political representation. The Palestinian response: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...want-freedom-not-trump-administration-bribes/
Just like everyone else involved with the Trump Administration Trainwreck... ...Kushner is totally unqualified, in way over his head, and has no idea what he is doing... Obviously, Kushner is a Clueless Dolt. And his "Plan" is a Complete Non-starter.
Someone's clueless. The $50bn incentive is intended to develope a robust, independent Palestinian economy. Too many Palestinians are employed by Iran's terrorism industry. Palestine rejected the offer because the radical islamist regime doesn't want to be seen as being beholden to western infidels. Abbas is in Rouhani's pocket and that's the biggest challenge to peaceful coexistence. It's pretty clear that you don't give any consideration to the nonsense you post. It's always just another knee jerk, blanket condemnation of TRUUUMP!
Nonsense. Any "solution" that ignores the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinians for their own state, free from Israeli domination, has always been a non-starter. The trump clan think like mobsters and have tried to use bribery, threats and intimidation instead. Let's see how far they get.
You know Israels wall is a pretty good indication they value borders and sovereignty. If Palestine would function as an independent state, instead of an Iranian outpost, occupation wouldn't be necessary. Palestine will never have the freedom to launch missiles into Israel. Economic independence should be Abbas primary objective. Palestinians need jobs, and Palestines government needs revenues that aren't derived from terorrism. Trump's thinking like a pragmatic capitalist. Prosperity in Palestine will bring peace to Palestine.
Wow...just wow.....the Trump admin tries to get investments in to Palestine so that it can be a free and independent of the Iranian terrorist....instead of merely being a proxy state for their terror campaign and Dems have issues with it.....who at all can be surprised that Dems are taking the side of terrrorist
The Palestinians shouldnt ignore this opportunity. Call it what you want, but someone is offering help, they should take it.
They'd rather be used as a proxy for terror by the Iranians against Israel....better to do then help their people.
Comments from those close to the "deal" call it a 'nice looking real estate sales brochure.' Trump and his tribe are clueless as to how the world works. Everything to them is transactional. If it doesn't have a dollar value on it, they don't get it. If it's something else, it's personal relations. Money and pals can solve anything in Trumpworld. The proposed "deal" is completely devoid of political content which defines the Palestinian question of nationhood, right of return, independence, and Israeli occupation of their land. The Trump/Kushner proposal is utterly worthles. They thought if they just threw enough money at the Israel - Palestine conflict it would all go away - poof! Trumpworld has shown it knows less than nothing about the Middle East. Unbelievable.
Hey...Einstein...this investment is one part of the entire peace plan. With that said, the fact the Paliestinian Authority would rather be a proxy for Iranian terror then welcome investments speaks volumes.
Palestinians are on the Iranian plantation just as surely as our entitlement addicts are on the DNC's. Abbas & Rouhani demonize the "greedy jews" and blame Palestinian poverty on Israeli imperialism. The DNC does the same thing here. It's always the 1% who's preventing the impoverished from getting an education and earning a decent wage. Palestine has a population of 5 million, meaning $50bn is equal to $10,000 per every man, woman and child. Abbas is a callous, greedy, bloodthirsty terrorist. If Abbas refusal doesn't lead to a coup, Palestine is a lost cause.
Maybe all that is completely true. I dont think there will be multiple offers. More of a take it or leave it type thing.
That's right. Palestinians have so much of everything, and their prospects for the future looks so bright, who needs some stinky $50 gazillions! Let's wait for the bright, Jew-free future; meanwhile, let's hurl some more Molotov cocktails, stab some more Jews and throw some more stones! That ought to bring a bright future a little closer!
They were already offered that and they refused. On many occasions. You should really go back and learn the history of that region and the negotiations that took place.
Can we get a link that is not behind a pay wall. The only thing I could tell after the "pay me for your news" pop-up was that this was an opinion piece and not real news.
Funny, all of a sudden Republicans are FOR high speed rail paid for with other people's money. That's however, what it is. it is not Kushner's money, nor US money, it is supposed to be money ponied up by other countries in the region, through the threat of losing US military contracts. Just like Trump's buildings: His name on it, but built by other people with other people's money who take all the risk, Trump (Kushner) get the name recoginition. Second, is it too hard to understand that the Palestinians don't want a high speed rail connecting territories, going through land that they consider basically stolen by Israel? The rail would just cement the land grab and legitimize it.
Why should Trump or Kushner use their own money, or for that matter US tax dollars to develop the Middle East? It should be built up using the money from nations in the region. If the deal is done, and brokered by the Trump admin, they should get name recognition
My dear WillReadmore, Most people want first of all good standard of living. There is no freedom in Saudi Arabia and millions are willing to live there. In the Palestinian Autonomy and in Gaza the only freedom people have is freedom to worship current leadership. And in many cases dollar is excellent substitute for freedom. Having decent income you are free send your kids to study, you are free to travel to see how other people are living, and even you are free to sue government.
I don't know, if the US wants to be a fair broker, first the financial aid has to be looked at. Probably per year $4-5 billion for Israel, $0.1 billion to Palestine. Fair broker, my a$$. Israel is basically a US welfare state. So, I would say it would be only fair if Kushner's money would actually come from the US. Hey the wall that Mexico is paying for probably costs more.
The aid we give Israel is in the form of loans, loans that they are required to use on American products.
Wake me up when Israel starts paying back $1.8 billion a year in DIRECT military aid. Plus, then there are a lot of hidden subsidies that do not show up in the statistics. I apply for funding to the NIH. Israel is the ONLY FOREIGN COUNTRY, who's universities can apply for NIH funding. Why do my tax dollars have to fund Israel's research and universities? Plus, my funding lines go down because US researchers compete with Israeli researchers. Why does Palestine not get NIH funding? Overall, it is estimated that every Israeli citizen receives about $5000 subsidy from the US. Note that I am a friend of Israel, have visited many times. I have friends there. They have a great educational system and great universities. However, the one-directional money flow from the US has to stop. Israel is like the grown up child that never learned how to wean themselves off the parent's (US) money spigot.
