Just out of curiosity...have you read Trinity by Leon Uris? It's one of the most moving books I've come across and really made me understand the history behind the Irish conflict...could be an interesting read even for an Irishman

ok, here you go. You can tell me the accuracy. It seems like it may have a slight conservative lean, but nothing like an american conservative publication like the weekly standard. You can tell me how accurate it is, because I am not too well versed on european politics.

Ya, I read this interesting article about the decline of social democratic parties in europe. And how their decline was precipitated by the abandonment by social democratic parties of their core principles, and by conservatives adopting many liberal economic policies into their own agendas. It was interesting, I could link it for you if you want.

I agree. The only difference is we live in a secular society, so we are able to control our religious nuts. In the most fervent Islamic countries, religious fundamentalism is institutionalized.

I hate all religions, and the things I say about christianity certainly gets the christians panties in a bunch

How are things?? How are celtic doing, I haven't been following scottish football much this year. I do know that torres had a hat trick today, and gerrard scored what whas either a spectacular goal, or a cross that happened to go in!! Torres now has 8 goals in 7 games... Torres :blushes:

I agree. At the end of the day nationalities are really a bit like being a football hooligan.

As for the Cuba issue, not only is it undemocratic but it's being "progressive" is a complete lie too.

It's like the USSR in 1932, minus the purges and the equality.

      No, afraid not.

I find that although I identify with the left-wing on most things, their continuous support of the Cuban regime and other similar BS keeps me from actually becoming a militant member.

It really sucks!! I am a fan of a few sports. Both types of football, yours and american football. Basketball, both pro and college. All I have in the summer in the US is baseball, and I hate baseball. It is boring as (*)(*)(*)(*)!! I will have to be held over by the french open and Wimbledon until Liverpool friendlies and Chicago Bears summer camp starts!!

Doesnt sound too good. Here ours is through SAAS and the Student Loans Company, I have no idea who they are or if they are effectively a bank.

I'll need to get back to listening to gorgeous, I've lost way of late.

Will the tuition fees be paid by loan I assume? Otherwise it would be a return to the 19th century.
    24. Joe Castro

Registration Fees, that sounds ominously like tuition fees by stealth. It's some amount of money that. I think for me it would work out about £15,000 debt I'll have come the end of it all. It's not bad in relative terms, but it still is bad. There has to be irony in there somewhere when a Labour government all educated free at the best universities in the land and given a healthy grant to go with it are the ones who will put the next generation in debt so they can get the same education.

No it's actually pretty good in Scotland. England, Wales and i think NI is pretty bad though. Our fees get paid, it's just a matter of paying your student loan off when you get a job. Does it cost you much?
