There really is no possibility of the GOP becoming more racially diverse...

    A flamebait thread only deserves a non-answer.

I don't think it was flamebait; you just didn't agree with his viewpoint and decided to chime in with a non-answer, possibly to even derail the thread.

Flamebait thread, the title draws a final conclusion. The pendulum of political parties is never a constant. Once the public grows tired of either party the other wins and Blacks vote in that process.

Blacks mostly voted Republican from after the Civil War and through the early part of the 20th century. That’s not surprising when one considers that Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president, and the white, segregationist politicians who governed Southern states in those days were Democrats. The Democratic Party didn’t welcome blacks then, and it wasn’t until 1924 that blacks were even permitted to attend Democratic conventions in any official capacity. Most blacks lived in the South, where they were mostly prevented from voting at all.

The election of Roosevelt in 1932 marked the beginning of a change. He got 71 percent of the black vote for president in 1936 and did nearly that well in the next two elections, according to historical figures kept by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. But even then, the number of blacks identifying themselves as Republicans was about the same as the number who thought of themselves as Democrats.

It wasn’t until Harry Truman garnered 77 percent of the black vote in 1948 that a majority of blacks reported that they thought of themselves as Democrats. Earlier that year Truman had issued an order desegregating the armed services and an executive order setting up regulations against racial bias in federal employment.

Even after that, Republican nominees continued to get a large slice of the black vote for several elections. Dwight D. Eisenhower got 39 percent in 1956, and Richard Nixon got 32 percent in his narrow loss to John F. Kennedy in 1960.

But then President Lyndon B. Johnson pushed through the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 (outlawing segregation in public places) and his eventual Republican opponent, Sen. Barry Goldwater, opposed it. Johnson got 94 percent of the black vote that year, still a record for any presidential election.

The following year Johnson signed the 1965 Voting Rights Act. No Republican presidential candidate has gotten more than 15 percent of the black vote since.

Unfortunately, much of what you say is true for many that actually vote, then for those offering free stuff or as what upset you, not being held responsible for your actions. However your describing a whole lot of people, OF ALL RACES. I don't have the time to mention the millions, maybe upper middle class, that earned their way up some ladder, from literal poverty, most trying more than once.

It's not the responsibility of your city mayor, state governor or anybody connected to the Federal Government, to see to it you or your parents have educated you or what you do or don't do, your entire life. Simply said that's up to you and if you start up a family to some degree your responsibility to support them.

What you obviously fail to understand, although I don't see how you possibly could, is pointing out something isn't the problem here. It's the constant and continual talking about something that doesn't even exist except in the imaginations of people with nothing better to do than whine. They would whine less if they got jobs and started taking care of their babies.

When someone keeps stupid dialogue going and just plain won't shut up, as hypochondriacs go on and on about imaginary illnesses, people tune out. I tuned out on this subject long ago. It gets my attention only because it's somewhat humorous and just plain silly.

So it's Bush's fault that you don't/won't/can't pay your bills.

That's a good one. Don't think I've heard it before.

Until then, the GOP will just keep putting their four black members into the limelight.

    No doubt.

My Hispanic Wife, Daughters, and someday, five grand kids, are all staunch anti-Progressive-Fascist voters, and a good portion of the reason my wife and daughters can't stand the Democratic Party, is the Blatant Anti-White Discrimination pursued by the Democrats, and the impact it is and will have on their Husbands, Brothers, Sons and Daughters who are already public school official "Designated" White.

The thing that the Democrats seems to fail to see, time after time, Racial Minority People, often intermarry with Whites, and that makes racial preferences, denial of options and opportunities to their loved ones.

The rate at which Mixed Race marriages are occurring, and their children are being born, and then "Designated White", is far higher, than even the Obama Illegal Immigration Wave is increasing the "Minority" self-identifying American Population.

The surface demographics say that pandering to "Minorities" by racial preferences gives the Democrats a Majority Vote in 2025 and on... well, that analysis does not take into account "Minorities" who stand against racial preferences for a number of reasons:

1] Principles and a belief in Dr. ML King's Dream

2] Pride and wanting to succeed based on accomplishment and talent, not government prejudice.

3] Wanting to have options and opportunities for their Spouses.

4] Protective Instinct to their children's and grand children's interests.

The last, causes my very Hispanic Wife to HATE and fight against Democrats with a level of vehemence that sometimes surprises even me.

When you threaten the future of a Hispanic Grandmother's cute, innocent, little angel babies, you make an enemy to be feared!

That little diatribe was quite insulting, just as Gorn Captain astutely predicted.
Are you making a conscious attempt to illustrate his point or was that your "serious" viewpoint?

And my Daughters, who just got here, added, "Don't forget that we remember how the racial preferences denied our DAD, making him have to work long hours to pay the bills of our upbringing, and not have anywhere near the childhood time we wanted to spend with him...

Its nice to be loved, and nice to see the Racist Democrats Hated.

So let me break down your argument.

P1: some Republicans on PF say racist things
P2: Republicans vote for white candidates more than black candidates.
P3: most Republicans voted for George Wallace
P4: you find GOP explanations of why black vote blue to be offensive.
C: the GOP will not become any more racially diverse for at least 20 years.

Skipping over the obviously erroneous premises, they do not support your conclusion.

The entire Black vote, which the Democrats do NOT actually get all of that demographic, is quite small compared to the Hispanic vote.

RRiiighhtt, they seem conservative to YOU. I'm against the present American form of gun ownership. I don't say that when I'm in my neighbor's basement admiring his genuine Machinegevehr 43 though. Your idea that someone in the privacy of the voting booth will vote for the candidate who wants to deport his relatives because he also supports lower taxes is somewhat naïve, IMO.

I guess making fun of Romney's grandson isn't considered racist. Or calling Herman Cain a token black for being republican isn't racist. Or how Reid doesn't understand why Hispanics would be republican. Or how civil rights laws weren't passed to protect whites. Or even how white people shouldn't have a right to vote. Or someone saying he gives interracial couples a look to make them uncomfortable.

All of these things were mentioned by the media, journalists, Reid(as already pointed out), Mary Frances Berry, and Spike Lee. Anyone with half a working brain knows that racism exists on both sides. The thing that gets me is why are you pretending otherwise? Because I know you're not an idiot. We might be on opposite sides ideologically but I know for a fact you're an intelligent person and it's one of the reasons I respect you as a poster. So why are you pretending racism is relegated to only one party?

Actually, I have a large number of FB friends. Even more so, no not everyone. I didn't say everyone, or refer to knowing everyone, however, a huge part is racist, and have proven so in the public eye and not. I know this from jobs I had working security for the NRA conference's, and from delving into state legislature here at home.

If Blacks were so concerned about race as they sound, they would do something to change people's mind, because it isn't all about color as I have said many times.

As for Hispanics, I hear this garbage all the time. If you don't want your country flooded with Hispanics, you must be a racist. Well Gorn, I'll take the same laws Mexico has about living and working in Mexico and their laws on immigration. Is that fair enough? I bet you wouldn't go for it.

So my Son-in-Law just got here and joined the Conversation ( It is a birthday party for my Daughter), and after being brought up to speed on the subject commented:

"So, I have to wonder, what group is bigger? Those people who are supporters of AA and Racial Preferences, or people, and their extended families, who are from mixed race marriages, and detest Racial Preferences?

I know that Mixed Race marriages are growing allot, look at Jennifer and Miguel, and Kristen and Brian, and Sara and Juan. This guy is an idiot."

These couples are all twenty something friends of my Daughters.

We went on to discuss just how wonderful Hispanic Wives are...

So, I have to Thank Gorn, for getting U.S. all together and discussing the subject, by this Thread, and deciding that we All really dlislike the Democrats and Progressive-Fascists for attempting to divide and pander by Race.

At this point my 6 year old, part Hispanic, mixed-race, grand daughter, who was listening intently to the conversation, piped in with :

"If that guy wants to Hate my Daddy and Grandpa, just because of how they look, he's not very nice. I look allot like both of them, so he's going to Hate me too! I don't like that guy.

Nobody should vote for people like that! I'm never going to be a Democrat! They are BAD!"

Well, there you are, from the mouth and mind of an innocent, Mixed-Race, Child!

So, since it is clear that the GOP will be getting new voters from the children of many mixed race marriages, which are a growing trend, I guess that kind of Blows the Whole Premise of the OP right out of the water!

To Gorn Captain: A six year old child definitely "Gets it!".... Why don't you?!

Hey, Gorn? We don't really need a thread about this every couple of weeks. Maybe in the interest of not cluttering up the board with repetitive threads, you could figure out a way to condense them into one?

One of the chief articles of faith among leftists is the racism of the right, yet every leftist I have ever know is more racist than any conservative I've ever met.

But yet, because of some weird twilight zone known as PF, when asked to provide proof of this racism from the "left", every conservative's keyboard suddenly stops working?
