Unless it was a black guy that ran over 50 people, then we blame the SUV...

That’s true. Or the cops that weren’t actually chasing him.

I feel like blaming the 2nd Amendment and its supporters for this additional national tragedy is like blaming the maker of the SUV used in the recent Waukesha mass killing for that tragedy.

Many things can be used to kill several people in a short period of time so, it is simply my opinion that even more draconian gun laws will not stop a determined killer.

In what remains the deadliest, single mass killing in recent history(1) a determined killer was deterred from buying a gun to kill one person. All he did was manage to kill that person and 86 more with only one dollar's worth of gasoline so, at least in that case, stricter gun laws caused more deaths.

It is again, just my opinion that determined killers would simply resort similar, crude WMDs & BioChem weapons that take even more lives depending on the degree to which even more gun laws are really "common sense".

Perhaps it would be helpful if you were more specific about what "common sense" gun laws you have in mind.

    Thanks,

EXCERPT "González went to an Amoco gas station, then returned to the establishment with a plastic container with $1 worth of gasoline.[2][4] He spread the fuel at the base of a staircase, the only access into the club, and then ignited the gasoline.[5]

Eighty-seven people died in the resulting fire."CONTINUED

I never addressed whether or not it would be used. The claim was made that no gun can shoot 50 people in 5 seconds. The claim was also made that no civilian owned gun could shoot 50 people.

I proved otherwise. Under exaggeration is just as bad as over exaggeration.

Some kids skipped the school b/c they had heard rumors that something might happen:

Police said they were unaware of any warning signs, but some parents and students said they had heard rumors before Tuesday that something bad might happen at the school.
Some parents later said even before the shooting rumors had been circulating that a school shooting was going to happen, and some students even said that they had decided not to attend.

A really good, long form, detailed story from the Free Press:

You are going to have to show us an incident where something so bizarre and far-fetched like that was ever used in a mass shooting. The average shooting in this country is taking place with a semi-automatic pistol that holds 12-15 rounds. Military weaponry like that is basically an exotic gun. Do you have any idea how few of those even exist?

So these kids and parents hear rumors that there may be a school shooting the next day, and none of them even bother to warn the school administration?

Again. I never addressed whether or not it would be used. I was addressing a specific comment that was wrong. NOTHING else.

Long story short, everyone and their dog has access to vehicles that can instantly maim or kill far more people instantly than any single shooter carrying a gun ever could. Just ask the people in Nice, France...

Ah, god forbid when one gets emotional when kids get mowed down at schools on a regular basis. Can't have that. On has to pray to the god of the barrel of the gun.

And, btw, the vast majority of activist gun owners are gun fondlers. The self defense argument is only a straw man. In reality, gun obsession is a hobby of men who never grew up from their adolescence days. Fitting that they adore Trump, who is suffering from the same predicament.

The chances of being killed in this country in a mass-shooting are almost nil. You have a way higher chance of being killed in a car accident or dying by some sort of food-related problem. Until you start advocating for the ban of restaurants like McDonalds and automobiles, we don’t want to hear it.

    WRONG question, WRONG answer..
How does a felon, gang banger or thug get a weapon? How does anyone in the U.S. get contraband, open boarders maybe?

Uh, this sentence here - Oh boy. I would hardly call myself a gun activist as I own only two, along with my wife, and we did buy them for self-defense. But in the process, we've met other gun-owners thru our training classes and met people you'd likely classify as gun activists and they are about as far removed as you can get from - well, I'll be kind and call it a fantasy. They're actually the most responsible people you can get when it comes to their guns. Heck, almost half the ones I know are women.

I'm genuinely curious if you actually know any gun owners.

He got the handgun from his dad. What 'common sense gun control' do you think would have stopped that from happening?

That has been the law in WA for about 5 years now. Gun violence rates havn't changed at all since then, except for the last year where they have surged.

Do you have any theories on why it's not working well? I mean other than some people are homicidal lunatics.

Ad hom, ad hom, and more ad hom. Another authoritarian who believes he is levitating above the rest of the population lost in his false belief of omnipotence talking down to the "less enlightened" masses. This is why nobody likes your side of this particular argument supported by the fact that support for draconian gun laws has fallen to it's lowest point since 2014.

At this point, your entire argument boils down to "stop liking what I don't like". It's juvenile and embarrassing.
