Did you know that scholars say that Mary wasn't much older - maybe 12.

Do you need video footage? Muslims riot, murder, and issue death threats because of the exercise of free speech. Attempting to impose their beliefs on those who do not share them.

If you and I were sitting at a table and I began to sketch Muhammed... what would you do? Would you ask me not to? Would you just get up and leave? Would you deface it? Would you try and stop me? What if it were a mural? What if it depicted him and a very young Aisha? Would you just shrug and say... well... it is his right and whistle on your way?

If you change that definition based on the religion... it is unconstitutional. Thanks for playing.

Clearly, religion, like drugs/alcohol and mental illness, causes a disconnect from reality which is highly dangerous...as we are about to witness on the Iislamic holy day of FRIDAY.
The FBI is now warning of DOMESTIC terrorism possibilities.....all because people can't stop believing in their magic invisible friend in the sky. I USED to have one of those too, but then I turned, like, five years old.

Who's RESPONSIBLE for the deaths that are likely to cascade down upon us? MOHAMMAD. Pure and simple. No Mohammad, no Jihad, no War on Terror, no death for "blasphemers".

    But you don't get it.

The ONLY thing this movie accomplished was causing violence and endangering/end the lives of innocent people.

There is nothing educational about this movie, and I sincerely pity you if you actually try to learn anything from this Basile fraud.

The Sunnah of the Prophet is available for everybody and anybody to read, this movie changes nothing about how Muhammad (pbuh) is viewed among anybody with an ounce of education.

    Start here.

    http://www.islaam.org/sunnah/sunnah-1.htm

    Continue here.

    http://www.quranenglish.com/hadith/Sahih_bukhari.htm

    End here.

    http://www.hadithcollection.com/sahihbukhari.html

You will learn infinitely more from these websites tham even possible from this mans video.

If you want to watch a movie about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), start by going to YouTube and search The Message. There are also some good documentaries on YouTube as well.

Debating tip: when you have to point out how bad a DIFFERENT belief system is, it clearly shows that you have no defense for the original belief system in question. So you're losing the debate, I'm afraid.
What do you think they'd say to that question? The modern Secular Humanist answer is "heck yeah that's immoral". "Kids" and "fornication" don't belong in the same sentence.

In many ways, Christianity, and Hinduism, etc. are just as bad as Islam, in some cases WORSE. The illogical and discriminatory Hindu which-vagina-did-you-come-out-of (ie birth-based) CASTE system, is just one example....even worse than Islam.

Video footage of what exactly? I know what happened, I don't deny it happened. How does this have anything to do with my post you quoted?

I'd explode of you did that.

Now, what if we were sitting at a table and you didn't draw a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)? You would likely explode to I think :p

What percentage will condemn Mohammad for approving of the cold-blooded murder of Asma B. Marwan and Abu Afak (see the film)
What percentage will condemn Mohammad for (certainly) implying that if you, say, burn a Quran, that you should be put to death?
The answer is 0%, I'm afraid.

No, I'm not saying one is as bad as the other. I'm pointing out that 2000 years ago, social morays were a tad different than they are today. Measuring them by our current standards is misguided and ignorant.

I have no interest in offending you... I don't know why you would think I did... that is not the point of this exercise. I would view such an action sort of like burning the American flag... I think it is offensive, I think it is in remarkably poor taste, and I would think you had to be pretty touched in the head to do something like that... but... I will defend to the death your RIGHT to do so.

    Now honestly answer the question.

Surprise, the film references a Hadith deemed unauthentic and unreliable by Islamic scholars.

It's funny, this is the second time today somebody has mentioned Abu 'Afaq.

It was brought up, in response to This Post
You need to do better than Ibn Ishaq. If you even know who this is.

Where was this ever implied? I mean come on man, you just lie so much there isn't even any point reading your posts anymore.

Just lie after lie after lie after lie. It's unreal. Really.

If it is only fire in a crowded theater if aimed at one religion, it offers protection of one religion over all others... and is unconstitutional, establishing a set of protections, in violation of our right to free speech, for a religion.

Please excuse me for assuming you were trying to offend me. It is so rare on this forum that I don't know why I would think that from your post.

But sincerely now, I will gladly answer your question. But first, I want to know what you think I, a devout and proud 19 year old Lebanese Canadian Muslim, would do. Then I will answer your question with pleasure.

I assume you already know the answer. Perhaps I assume too often.

Westerners at least have a human right to be offensive and uneducational. Speech does not have to be intelligent, teach somethinger, or politically correct to the crazed sensibilities of the overly religious Arab street.

OK that explanation is still clear as mud. Inciting a riot is not protected free speech - it doesn't matter if religion is the tool used to incite.

I assume they would insist I stop. How insistant? Dunno, hense the question. I expect it would definitely depend on the person and culture they were raised in. I do want an answer for you personally... and then I want to know how well this would go over at any cafe in Egypt or Lybia?

I can't seem to find the point of this post? What did it have to do with anything in my post you quoted?

Saying something offensive cannot reasonably be expected to incite a riot... it is WHY FREE SPEECH IS PROTECTED... that we can communicate EVEN OFFENSIVE ideas. What is UNREASONABLE HERE is the presumption that VIOLENCE should occur should someone espouse a position on a religion.

You should argue with OJLeb. It is HIS opinion that one should NOT expect violence for expressing a position on a religious figure. It is YOUR position that it should be expected, so we should NEVER say anything that might be taken offensively by Muslims, and Muslims ONLY.

Your inability to understand why it is unconstitutional notwithstanding.

Me, personally, I would walk out. Ignore the action.

I practice this on this forum, unfortunately quite often. often

I don't even tell people, don't talk bad about Islam... I first try to talk to them, then if that goes nowhere I clear up whatever it is they are saying for others who might read it and put them on ignore. Because after a while, constantly refuting the same regurgitated lies, it gets... Boring.

So yes, I would perhaps ask you why you feel the urge to draw a cartoon of Muhammad (pbuh) but I would likely leave after that.

But you made an excellent point.

"... I expect it would definitely depend on the person and culture they were raised in... "

This is something nobody ever considers, when they condemn a religion and nearly 2 billion of its members for the actions of less than 1% of its entire population.

But there is no purpose for somebody to draw a picture of Muhammad (pbuh), other than to stir up emotions. Would you agree with this or not?

Not quite. I said it is not right for there to be violence, but never said it shouldn't be expected. It will happen regardless. There will always be the group who lets their emotions overtake them.

    For this particular case.

He - whoever it was who made this film - knew exactly what would happen.

There is a difference between "might offend Muslims" and then going out of your way to purposefully offend Muslims.

Usually the former apologizes. While the latter has no regrets.

    Again, this example has both.

The actors who were lied to and tricked into producing a film about "Master George" apologized for the movie. They belong to the former group.

This Basile fraud accomplished his goal to offend Muslims by insulting he Prophet (pbuh), knowing the consequences.

It is too bad something like this became so big. Why give even enough legitimacy to a movie such this by thinking about it? Emotions.

I haven't seen the video, and never will.
