Republicans are not going to give Biden the light of day, so, for those of you who want more perspective on the Afghanistan withdrawal, words about the shortcomings, predictions, 'contingency plans' etc., here is the....Morning Joe.....

Interview with Pentagon Press Sec. John Kirby ( Part 1 )

    And (Part 2)

Does the interview get Joe out of the woods on the withdrawal, I wouldn't say that, but still, I believe we should get Joe's side of the argument, from the Pentagon Press Secy and Joe, himself, his reason for the withdrawal:

The withdrawal was an absolute necessity. Now, was it poorly planned? I think it was. The videos that you post shows that there were big failures.

What is relevant now is that Biden recognized that there were failures, and immediately proceeded to correct them. If it were Trump, he would have denied that there were any problems at the same time that he would have blamed somebody else for them (double-think would kick in and his loyalists would believe both at the same time). And he would have simply kept denying that there were problems and not fix anything. I'm convinced he probably would have sent in troops to shoot at the Taliban. This would have been a blood bath.

why did Trump's Taliban deal fail so badly

Trump released over 5000 prisoners last year, many top Taliban leaders

it's almost like the Taliban have been preparing for this day ever since they signed that deal with Trump

why did Trump's negotiating with terrorists fail

So......they weren't going to be abused under Trump's plan to withdraw? His agreement with the Taliban made no mention of the treatment of women upon our withdrawal.

I am just glad Biden finally did it, ending this 20+ year war, the last admin should have done it, but set a date under Biden and kicked the can down the road instead

any President that did it would get criticism, Biden was the only one brave enough to face that criticism

Afghanistan was like grabbing a tiger by the tail, we all knew we had to let go someday

Please explain why the administration before Trump did not take care of this 20 year war?

I didn't blame him. I said the outcome for women would be the same under his withdrawal plan.

can't explain it, Obama should have too, Trump promised he would, why did he not?

Biden was the only one brave enough to do it

Bush Jr never should have started this war, Obama and Trump should have ended it, but Biden was the one that finally did

Playing the blame game avoids the reality that there is plenty of blame to go around from Bush to Biden.

how many more years did you want this war to go on.... tell it to all those families that lost loved ones in this war and would continue to do so forever into the future

it was long past time to end this war

the Afghan army could have fought if they wanted too, they chose not too

    the war is almost over.....

What part do you want to blame on Obama and Joe…. It seems this war started with Trump in some folks minds… how many years? 2008 would have been a great year to stop it….
