At least 10 dead in mass shooting at Buffalo supermarket

If he purchased it legally in New York, then why put blame on New York's gun laws? Did he purchase it himself? Or did someone, like his parents, buy it for him? He had no criminal record, and apparently, not even New York does more than a cursory background check, else they would perhaps have come across some of his social media postings.

 

I have no reason to believe she wouldn't.

This is not a partisan talking point, this is another young white male who has been radicalized by at least one white supremacist group. Why the resentment?

They are still mass shootings with mass deaths in most cases including innocent civilians. Who has not accepted this guy appears to be a white supremist? Do you really not see black domestic terrorism is MORE of the real issue?

 

Resentment? Not really. But I’m not cool with people jumping on the ‘all whites people are supremacists’ wagon. What purpose was served by calling him a supremacist other than to make whites look bad?. When people in Chicago are gunned down do they mention the shooter’s race and what gang he belonged to? Heck, many places don’t mention the race of criminals because they don’t want to perpetuate stereotypes, and here is the governor calling out this guy’s race while the bodies are still warm. Oakland’s transit system wont release videos of crimes on their trains for the same reason. When an Asian is attacked do they mention the race of the thug? There’s a double standard here and it’s blatant.

No not really. There are no good reason for killing anyone period. Unless if it's self defense or wartime.

 

I place blame on New York gun laws because only the well connected are allowed to carry a CCW, which left a lot of people totally defenseless in the grocery store that the Buffalo shooter shot up.

 

New York gun laws disarm the people and make them easy prey for criminal predators.
Constitutional carry would end virtually all public gun crime instantly.

The Inconvenient Truth:
When most people start carrying concealed handguns virtually all violent crime on the streets will stop.

Whenever the people are disarmed all crime including gun crime soars. Surely you have noticed.

One of the 10 people slaughtered Saturday in a hate-fueled mass shooting in Buffalo, N.Y., was a retired police officer who died trying to stop the rampage.
Aaron Salter, Jr., 55, had retired four years ago from the Buffalo Police Department after 30 years on the job. To regular shoppers at Tops Friendly Markets, Salter was the supermarket's friendly security guard.
Salter is now being called a hero in the wake of Saturday's senseless violence, after authorities confirmed the former cop tried stopping alleged murderer Payton S. Gendron moments after the heavily-armed 18-year-old killed three people just outside the market's doors.

Salter was armed, and fired upon the shooter, who was wearing tactical gear and body armor.


"The security guard that was killed did shoot and hit the suspect but it did not penetrate the body armor," explained Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, speaking to NPR Sunday. "Former Buffalo Police Lieutenant Aaron Salter died a hero trying to stop the shooter and protect others in the community."

According to reports, his mother had worked at Tops for years before she retired in 1986.

The shooter seemingly planned the massacre over several months. A review of a manifesto he released online suggests the shooter is a white supremacist who drove several hours to Buffalo to kill people in a predominantly-Black neighborhood.
Yes it was senseless.

The Convenient Lie that you refuse to look at is that every state that has passed Stand Your Ground laws has not had lower crime. And of course we have a history to look at for answers. The American West was not tamed by the gun, it was tamed by law enforcement. Everyone had a gun back then, but what they all wanted was a town sheriff to bring in some law and order. Why would we want to go backwards?

This is a tragedy of epic proportions. The more we stand divided, the closer we get to that point of no return. And the longer we let our government fuel that divide, the greater the guarantee of the ruin of these United States.

 

How that happened is beyond me. Apparently, the school already had him mentally evaluated last year, when he was noticed for a "generalized threat", whatever that means.

Then, he walks into the next gun store, buys his gun and ammo, and shoots up 13 people. Only in America... And nothing will be done after this... The gun lobby just is too strong... I am sure the same people who advocate for unlimited gun freedom also consider themselves pro life.....

 

If, if if.... Somehow the good guys with guns never seem to come through in these situations. Why? Because the good guy with a gun saving the day is another myth used as propaganda by the gun lobby.

 

That’s odd, there’s quite a list of people who did solve a problem just like this by carrying a weapon. You wear a seat belt by any chance?

 

And why do we allow civilians to be able to purchase body armor? I thought they were only available to law enforcement? Or is body armor also a hunting accessory? When did the deer start shooting back?

 

thats a good question, since he knew what he was going to do was illegal that didn’t stop him. Looks like the fact that something is against the law doesn’t mean criminals won’t do it.

on that note there’s only 2 real ways to beat these guys wearing body armor. The first is carrying a round that penetrates it, the second (my personal method) is the Mozambique drill. Solved.

 

It's not the gun lobby that's strong, it's the Constitution that's strong.

 

The people who who want to ban guns are also pro-abortion.

I am a 2A advocate and I'm pro-life. Gun ownership saves more lives than it takes. Imagine this country if only the criminals had guns. What do you think things would look like? Open borders, unchecked illegal aliens, refunded police departments, panzy ass Leftist prosecutors. That's when the real blood letting would begin.

 

For the same reason people can buy first aid kits and fire extinguishers. All that freedom stuff and personal protection.
