I was quite religious at one time, but then I grew up and started thinking critically. That was the death blow to my religiosity!!

What do you want? You want me to sit in a lab with you and prove these things? take a hike you don't want to understand.

I'm not religious myself. Sounds like that's where you went wrong.

No, don't be silly, I don't have time to spend in a lab. I do have enough time to read whatever arguments you might have to show that link, or any web pages you think might show it. Something like that would be a good start.

Well, you don't have to worry about anyone accepting your logic, do you?

Confidence is not important and I've never rejected myself. I'm very comfortable being Agnostic/Atheist. What IS important is that you've made the implication that God has revealed Himself to YOU. If you believe that then you should feel very special because for most of her life, 50 years in fact, Mother Teresa never got that pleasure. All those years of working and spreading God's word, He never revealed, spoke, or let his presence be felt to her. I read her book. You should too. It may make you wonder why God would speak to you, some of my neighbors, my priest, and many other lay people I know but not once would He give Mother Teresa what she sought so much.

I'm not ragging on you, I respect the church and most of your beliefs but don't expect me to believe that God revealed Himself to you.

I know you've never rejected yourself, that was my point. And you sound like you're taking my statement about God revealing himself to me literally. Don't do that. I simply mean events happened in my life, a few supernatural, that left any doubt in my mind there is a God. I am sorry this never happened for you.

Fair enough but don't feel sorry for me. I'm perfectly comfortable without a God. :)

You should experience hell before you depart this Earth.

Seems that I have found someone that should reflect upon this the most.

Why would you wish that on anyone?

Because Neutral, it took me to experience that in order to turn to Christ. I am not wishing them to hell for eternity or anything like that, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. But it helps some of us to see what the separation from God will feel like. Some just take the Bible's word for it, others (like myself) need to be shown.

Christ is not about fear brother, and there is a huge difference between fear of hell and Love of Christ. Why do we follow Christ? Quite simply because it makes the most sense - its the most rational - and it feels right.

Not lying? Not using people for our own pleasure? Not stealing? Honoring family? Being compassionate and selfless? Charity? Honor? Wisdom? Love? These are the very best of things. And they lead straight to something even more wonderful, a relationship with a loving God.

Hell? I hope no one goes there, but some, even with the knoweldge of it, will choose it. Their own desires here and now are far more important to them.

I understand what he 'means' altho it sounded harsh....sometimes one has to hit rock bottom to be able to look 'up' and see the light. It also took a 2x4 across my face (figure of speech) to get my attention after goin my own way and 'doin my own thang' for many of my early adult years...

Come on now. You get upset when folks state things that challenge your beliefs and you go into ad hom rants when can not come up with a logical refutation.

    Athiest this .. Athiest that.

Who is going ad hominem and appealling to emotion?

If that's your idea of logic ... well, that is why you fail kiddo.

I suggests you go back and reread a few of your posts if you wish to find good examples of logical fallacies.

OK, General Zod, why don;t you, instead of throwing out infantile accusations go ahead and prove that statement.

A reminder G, the TOS make the poster off limits and my patience for your infantuation and desire for revenge is limited. Either participate, honestly, or take your wounded ego elsewhere.

BTW - its the repeated behavior like this that has lead me to conclude that atheism is anything but logical. When challenged, one so called intellectual after another is reduced to nothing more than animosity.

I would be happy to .. let me know if you would like more because there are hundreds of examples .. your ad hom is legendary.

    To this you respond.

You start out with an appeal to the masses "people doubt" that I am an expert on Christian history (Logical fallacy 1). I never claimed to be and expert (false premise -Logical fallacy 2) .

You are inferring that because one is not an expert statements from that person are automatically false (Logical fallacy 3)

I provide sources from experts but even if I did not that does not make my statements untrue.

Your infeered claim that I am not an expert is an Ad Hom attack to begin with (Logical fallacy 4) Attacking the persons credentials rather than addressing the argument.

Then you try and provide some evidence:

Strawman (Logical Fallacy 5) - misrepresentation of my position. I never claimed that all Christians take the Bible literally.

Ad Hom/False premise (Logical Fallacy 6-7) Namecalling and you infer that I am an Athiest.

I clearly state that "a non literal interpretation of the Bible does not disprove God"

Even if I was an Athiest what does that have to do the truth or falsehood of my above argument against a literal interpretation of the Bible

Strawman (Logical Fallacy 8) - misrepresentation of my position.

Where in this post, or any of my posts, do I say that there is no God.

Your post is full of disingenuous nonsence.

I state that Science has not disproved God but that it has disproved a literal interpretation of the Bible.

You go on an Ad Hom .. logical fallacy infested rant that misrepresents my position.

This is not an exception but the norm for your posts to myself and others when someone says something that conflicts with your beliefs.
