On top of that, O'Rourke was the mayor and then council member of El Paso which is a city full of pawn shops where buying 'assault rifles' is not only legal, but their shelves are full of them.

So Mr Joe makes an realistic argument about why a person should be able to have an AR15 - self defense - and O'Rourke said he would send the police to someone's house to get it so it 'can't potentially be used against somebody else.' He's making the assumption that AR15s, and pretty much only AR15s, are capable of killing someone else. A baseball bat can potentially kill someone, are they next?

Anyway, it looked to me like Mr Joe was trying to put the final nail in O'Rourke's coffin so his supporters could move on to his preferred candidate whoever that might be.
