In fact. If I understand the new 52 and current continuality (I may be wrong because I'm not a DC reader) Lois Lane and Superman have never been a thing in current continuality. Lame eh?

who in the heck is talking about discrimination? You just said that I can choose the color of my skin but can't chose who I diddle...................and you want me to take you seriously? Maybe I didn't get that memo but every time I unzip it is a personal choice regarding what I'm going to do with it. Every time I look at my skin, unless I'm Michael Jackson I'm stuck with that skin color

I wonder what the forum reaction would be if the Hulk turned out to be gay?

Safe bet is your opinion not an absolute so banning it because you believe it is a "Safe bet" isn't going to fly.

If we are a "nation of equals" you would support ALL sexual preferences but clearly you don't. Why do you continue top fall into this trap even though its been explained over and over again?

And its relevant for the same reason I said before. If you expand the definition with arguments like the one you just made, "we are supposed to be a nation of equals" then not one can be denied and marriage becomes pointless for a society.

I didn't ignore it. You didn't say it. And it is not a fact. You said one survey you found claimed 71% of churchgoers thought homosexuality is a sin. That's far from conclusive and even those survey responders are judging an act, not prejudging people. The same Bible that may hold homosexuality is a sin, has a much clearer message about judging others for their sins.

Pretty sure you'd get a similar number if you asked certain Muslims if drinking was a sin. The subsequent assumption that they have as much against folks who drink as those "white people" who don't "like black people" is just as a hasty and unfair.

You got your facts wrong. You stereotyped and prejudged a people based on that error. You condemned and demonstrated intolerance for a lifestyle other than your own. Then you defended bigotry, slapped labels on people, and then announced "The stereotypes, prejudice and intolerance, automatically comes from their end, not mine."

I get that you're angry. Something in your personal life might explain it, or you just might be a jerk. I don't know; it doesn't matter. How you treat people you've never met effects the world. The question now is what kind of world do you want to bring us towards. One with prejudice, intolerance, and stereotypes or something different. I suggest you consider the direction you're advocating, I don't think you'll be happy with where it leads.

    Google is your friend.

I can only lead a horse to water, I cannot make him drink.

Survey: Americans Divided on Homosexuality as Sin

what do we have here? A different study with very similar results:

What kind of nonsens will you come up with now?

I’m straight edge, but I could give a dam if someone drinks. Not even a comparison here.

And if you think that 8% of white don’t like blacks just because they are black, then you must live in some type of utopia world that doesn't exist. You will always have X amount of people hating on others just because they are different then them. You extinguish bigotry completely. Again, only in utopia can you.

Ive pulled two studies, 4 years apart with similar results.

Would you like to try for 3?
My facts are correct. The only problem here is you tossing ad homs based on your own willful ignorance. I understand you live in North Cali where people want to live in utopia. The rest of us live in reality. You should try it sometime.

Or I might be fighting for equal rights, and pointing out the cause of bigotry towards homosexuals and simply cannot handle the truth. People who cannot handle the truth usually resort to ad homs, and it seems you are no different.

You have taken the respect argument and now the “you are angry” argument out of the christian playbook. If you don’t want to hear the truth, go find another site.

And has legal consent with you. You bring up pedophilia all the time, yet you simply will not understand that a child cannot give their legal consent.

You're making assumptions that are not true. I won't fault a person for any sexual preference. And I'm not advocating expanding any definition. I simply call for the removal of a restriction that no one can show is necessary.

Of course someone can be denied marriage in a nation of equals. We deny people the right to vote, the right to free speech, the right to life itself. Why wouldn't we not be able to deny the right to marry? The difference is when law distinguishes between citizens. especially in denying civil rights, it must demonstrate the necessity. That judicial review is a key element of the checks and balances in our form of government.

States have argued public safety necessitates denying a felon his freedom, Federal lawyers have argued national security necessitates denying a soldier his right to free speech. The need to protect children from sexual predators can be argued as to why 7 year old Billy cannot marry. Agree or disagree with these necessities, but at least they exist and the process is being respected.

To date, no necessity at all has been offered for denying a same sex couple a marriage license.

    here you go http://www.politicalforum.com/gay-lesbian-rights/

that sub section is where you can discuss that till your hearts content. This thread is about X-men and what relevance is there about how the characters engage in sex.

Both quotes you offer ask a person's opinion of an act, neither support the prejudging of people as you have asserted. Neither support you claim Christians "label homosexuals as sinner w/o even meeting them." Your obstinate devotion to this opinion without regard to the words even you are quoting... it demonstrates bigotry.

You assume considering an act a sin, is comparable to racial prejudice. It's not. Maybe 71% of Muslims think drinking alcohol is sinful, that doesn't mean 71% of Muslims look at an American with a beer the way some whites looked at blacks in 1965. And your surveys don't mean 71% of Christians look that way at a couple who may be homosexual. Christians tend to hold that everyone is a sinner and the Bible suggests we leave it up to God to make judgements.

You are not fighting for your equal rights. Your are defending bigotry. "You will always have X amount of people hating on others just because they are different then them." "You cannot extinguish bigotry." You want to fight for equal rights instead? Address unfair laws and practices, and stop attacking the lifestyle of people you've never met. A lifestyle which does you no harm. Those attacks don't do anything to promote equal rights or tolerance and they distract from the legitimate arguments for marriage equality. They undermine the cause of equal rights.

You're right. So... more on topic, if we're talking about a human and mutant -- is it still appropriate to even call it homosexuality?

That's my understanding as well, although I've not read any since the reboot. However, if DC is planning on saving the Lois Lane relationship for later, how awkward is it going to be around the ole Hall of Justice after Supes and WW break up?

Sounds like a summer relationship crisis, with the Justice League taking sides on whose fault the break up is.

I am okay with a gay X-Man. The X-Men were an attempt by Stan Lee to address racial bigotry in the 60's and 70's. It only seems a logical progression of the whole X-Men idea. So what is the big deal. There have been gay comic characters since the 60's. The first being Peppermint Patty from Peanuts. Why do you think Marcy always called her 'sir'?

Wait, you just now figured it out? The fact that they were wearing brightly colored leotards in the 1980's wasn't a give away? The wolverine yellow leotard is pretty much a large "I'm Gay" sign.

But then again, the whole set up of X-men was pretty much a metaphor for gayness. People who are "normal" until the teenage years when they suddenly change and are thought weird and the establishment that doesn't understand tries to register and kill them. Not much for subtlety are they?

I'm betting supes blows it. "Man of Steel" aside, the big boy scout has never been great at the relationship game.

Yeah!!! My turn... That was interesting, but I am glad that someone posted the crap to end the conversation - there has been plenty of gays in Comics, DC and Marvel. Homosexuality has been around for quite some time - openly expressed in some communities and not in others. Depends on who's in control - a religious dictatorship or the people.

Comics (I'm a huge fan) have had characters that have been gay for a LONG TIME. It was always assumed Batman was gay... glad someone posted what he was. So, I don’t see the gripe unless someone is just prejudice against the gay population period. Which it seems those that are against the comic are.

a bit of stretch there with your incorrect summation. What relevance is there to how a comic character engages in sex? Why does it matter and why must it be heralded when the sex is of the homosexual persuasion?
