Interesting in the abstract. But why are you so willing to cede to another country the right to determine who can be the American President?

We do know that Barack Obama was elected President, confirmed by Congress and sworn into office. What you have is a bunch of what if's, all with the hopeful intention of letting Britain or Kenya determine who cannot be American President.

What you are describing is a political issue- completely unrelated to eligibility. Which in my opinion, shows once again that Birthers are just crying "eligibility" when what they really mean "we disagree with Obama's politics, so we need to make up some reason he can't be President"

Funny, this is something I have seen many Obama haters mention. I can't think of any reason why anyone would think this other than racism. Now if Congress were to try to impeach Obama without any pretence of any illegal action by Obama- that could cause political problems- if Congress is perceived to be using impeachment simply to reverse election results, that could cause widespread and permanent damage to our democratic system.

Oh did I imply? If so, I apologize. In my opinion, I believe from his posts that he is an Obama hater.

And I am not trying to tie any violence to Birthers- I am pointing out that Birthers have tried to imply that rejection of Obama will lead to violence, and that this is the part of the Konspiracy.

He is the one whose personal fear is that our cities will burn if Obama is not re-elected. The most obvious reason for that fear is racism. You are welcome to provide your own opinion as to why he is so frightened.

Margot, to somewhat support "Patriotic's" comment, which is correct IMO, "he was born a subject" by virtue of his father's status (law at the time) and could not be a single citizen of the US. Today it may be different, but not in 1961.

Along this line however, he traveled to Indonesia, think in 1981 and could not have used a US Passport, I understand they were on "no travel" status, in itself interesting.

To a degree that's correct and as said many times, once the elections were over, I had dropped these issues. On more than a few occasions, I've joined with those still debating the issues, knowing it would not be a politically viable concern to most Americans. He (Obama) now has a record, IMO more dangerous than fraudulently gaining the office, if that happened....

I don't recall linking Obama to OWS movement, though I do believe Liberal's have backed the movement. What I do fear may happen if Obama loses the election, is his supporters (not necessarily black) will cause trouble in some metro areas. I'm basing this on several liberal movements, as the Wisconsin and Ohio Union inspired opposition to Conservative movements.

If you mangle history even worse than our opponents do, then what have you accomplished? They hate our guts and nothing's going to change that... but if you persist in saying totally incorrect things like "the germans bombed Pearl Harbor" then they're laughing at you and hating your guts at the same time....

You would have to work at it very hard in order to despise Obama more than I do, but when you debate the opposition, you've got to have your facts in order or you will appear not to know what you're talking about. I think you do know what you mean to say, but you just got the Germans mixed up with the Japanese while typing it up. I've done somewhat similar things myself, but I correct these as soon as possible, or, just say, "Hey, I screwed up!" It's not a crime....

 

I think the only way that Obama isn't a US citizen would be if Hawaii wasn't a state when Obama was born. We've yet to find anything attesting to his birth outside of Hawaii, and for the Hawaii birth we have not only a birth certificate but birth announcements. So unless Hawaii wasn't a state, this fails hard.

 

hey.. i screwed up..... i forget this is an international discussion forum. and sometimetimes when we get cooking we forget that other people are listening. so i totally apologise for any confusion.

movies are iconic in america and sometimes we draw from them to talk.
