Cops Arrest 2 Black Men Sitting In Starbucks For ‘Trespassing’: Video

It is hilarious watching people opening their closet doors, poking their heads out to flap their big mouths by spouting off nonsensical stereotyped bullshit.

 

Tell you what go sit at Starbucks for a couple of hours and you might, just might see exactly what goes on. It's amazing that everyone in America can see that what happen to these two young men was as wrong as the day is long. The Starbucks CEO, the police commissioner, the Mayor, etc. issued apologies to these two young men. Witnesses in the store even can see the wrong in what was done to these two young men, but that is not good enough for some folks who want to label them as criminals and make the claim they were trespassing and that the manager is the victim and blah, blah, blah. It proves that we have come along way as a country, but we still have along way to go.

they can't be charged with trespassing in a public space where there's acknowledged open invitation to enter...they weren't causing a disturbance either so there was no chance of any conviction for doing anything...

So, businesses don't like people loitering without buying something. I thought that was pretty standard policy.

i go into stores all the time and not buy anything everyone does, in fact stores want people to do just that in the hope that you will find something to buy...

customers going into starbucks and not ordering while waiting for someone is normal, I see it happen all the time and my conversations with the Starbucks baristas confirm that...it's no different than not ordering your meal in a restaurant until all the guests have arrived...

Yeah, all the poor young real estate businessmen wanted to do was sit around taking up space not buying anything. I wonder if they go to the movie theater using the same plan?
I also wonder when exactly private businesses lost the right to control what happens on their own premises and when the legitimate charge of criminal trespassing became null and void?

We do have a long way to go when two black trespassers can frighten a nationally based chain of coffee shops into ignoring their own policies (specifically put in place to apply to central Philadelphia shops where loitering was an epidemic problem) and cause the city of Philadelphia to ignore the law.

Because the basic facts, two people refused to buy any product or to leave a Starbucks when requested by management and the police,
are clear for all to see.

So if we are having a meeting and I offer to buy you a cup of coffee and tell you to meet me at Starbucks and you arrive first you are going to go ahead and buy a cup of coffee. So what do you do pour it out when I get there.

Show me in writing where Starbucks policy is that there are no meetings on the premises and all parties have to show up at the same time.

Post the policies that they are ignoring. I will bet the farm that the CEO knows the company policies better than you do.

The lady did nothing wrong. I will grant you the two men shouldn't have been arrested and probably not even have the police called if they had said, no thanks, we will order later, we are waiting for a friend to show up.

 

My very first thought when I read the original news accounts. Does anyone find it coincidental that Andrew Yaffe showed up yelling at the cops at the very moment that the two trespassers were being led away? It made for a nice p.r. moment.

Is it also strange that this man Yaffe, president of a Philadelphia real estate investment, development and management firm,
took time to meet personally with two nobodies who presumably couldn't come up with the funds sufficient to buy a cup of coffee?
Or was the point of not patronizing the business where the duo loitered not a matter of money but of p.r., once again, to provoke
a response that made a political point?

something you see routinely at starbucks everyday of the week...if you were to order a tall coffee you could have it finished before the other party arrives and then what?... what if you're not a big coffee drinker and you don't want a second cup.

I've never timed this but I'm sure I've come in sat down for a half hour at a time reading a book or paper while I wait for a long line of customers to clear before I go up and order, I've never been asked to leave.

chatting with the manager at the 'buckers I frequent he said he knew of only two occasions where they called the police, one was for a drunk who was harassing a female customer, when asked to stop the drunk punched the manager ...and the second when two customers/friends got into a heated debate that progressed to a brawl...homeless people are tolerated their only offense is being cold, thirsty(they ask for and are given water) or need to use the wc

yeah it's quite evident who they are and the thin veil they hide behind...

nor do you need a ticket for walmart, shop as long as you want, to buy or not buy is up to the customer...because walmart has an open invitation for anyone to enter, a commitment to buy is not required.

it's fairly obvious most of the racist dinosaurs here have never been in a Starbucks more than a couple times in the lives, if ever...

print exactly what you'd like to see.

You need to realize this isn't 1985 anymore and the NY Times or Newsweek don't have a monopoly on the news. And they have their own well known agendas in any event, and wouldn't bother looking beyond what the Starbucks corporation or Philadelphia mayor's office put out for the sheep to graze on, though I'll bet that doesn't bother you one bit.

I don't know what sort of dope would not blame these parasites since they were given a choice to simply order something or leave and they would do neither. Who else is to blame? Starbucks is a business. Not a day care center for unemployed black men.
