Should Creationism in some form be taught in universities and schools? What about Theistic Evolutionary Theory that I think is actually quite different from traditional Creationism? I came across an old thread that went all the way to the maximum number of replies so I felt that we needed a poll on this. http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/creationism-in-schools.202355/ Creationism in schools
To my thinking... here is the crux of the problem: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-god-the-mother.398603/page-2#post-1068917549 Could the Holy Spirit - Holy Ghost = God the Mother? Dr. Chaim Henry Tejman's writings have made me wonder if the masculine thought and behavior patterns may have evolved out of Super Strings and perhaps feminine thought and behavior emerged out of Super Waves or as he terms it..... Super Energetic Matter? http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/gender/g1.htm Near death experiencer Christian Andreason also felt that our losing touch with the Divine Feminine was playing a role in messing up life on earth. http://www.allaboutchristian.com/spirituality/
How odd. You don't give the option for 'no.' Creationism is a relgious concept, not science. We should be teaching science and only science in our schools. Teach creationism in Sunday school. Creationism isn't science. And neither is Theistic Evolutionary Theory.
That option is pretty close to: "In universities yes... .but not in schools." because Young Earth Creationism and / or Old Earth Creationism are taught in universities affiliated with churches. Some variations of Theistic Evolutionary Theory seem to be being addressed in some universities..... as you can see from the following book: https://www.amazon.com/Biocosm-Scientific-Evolution-Intelligent-Architect/dp/1930722222 Biocosm: The New Scientific Theory of Evolution: Intelligent Life Is the Architect of the Universe .... I am impressed by the results of this poll so far: Where did Intelligence begin, in matter or fundamental energy? http://www.politicalforum.com/index...begin-in-matter-or-fundamental-energy.465052/ The first Intelligence began in.....? Carbon based life less than 5 billion years ago, on earth. 7 vote(s) 50.0% Carbon based life in outer space. 2 vote(s) 14.3% * Fundamental or nearly fundamental energy. 5 vote(s) 35.7% This is a new question that I am only now facing. 0 vote(s) 0.0%
That is one option.......... but your response gives me the impression that you sympathize with the actions of Yosef Stalin to shift Russia away from control by the Russian Orthodox Church...... over to the official state religion of Atheism? It seems that you would like to see North American Universities that already are teaching Old Earth Creationism and / or Young Earth Creationism and / or some variation of Theistic Evolutionary Theory....... prevented from continuing to do so........ and America and Canada should follow the wonderful example of Mother Russia????????
Public schools are secular. That's the law of the land. Church schools are private. You can teach anything you want in a private school. If you try to put religion in public schools/universities, then you are breaking the law of separation of church and state. Can't be done. It's wrong and unlawful.
The only way creationism works in a school is if it's taught in the context of a religious history class. It should not be anywhere near a science lesson whatsoever. Not even entertained as a possibility because there is zero evidence to support the claim. Nor do we want to be teaching kids that emotional attachment to something is the same as objective science or can be taken in place of real evidence.
I think if you let a little religion in school you have to let it all in. So I took my kids to church instead of expecting the schools to.
At the university level, 'the Bible as literature' is taught; I've been in schools where it is taught, AS LITERATURE, not as religion. People are interested in what it says, in the stories, the myths, the symbolism and other literary techniques, and the ideas are discussed the way we discuss other works of literature: but it is not taught as religion, not taught as a belief system. It is taught as literature, not the word of god. Much of the Bible is allegorical. And was intended to be so, the same as other ancient story telling.
True....... which sets up private schools and / or the churches that are sponsoring those schools....... with lots of incentive to figure out a way to make them vastly more attractive to parents........ Here is one of their options..... Large churches in democratic nations should print their own currencies.
Are you certain? http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/fund/fund1.htm http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/fund/fund3.htm http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/book/life1.htm This question is relevant to all of us because a study was referred to by Dr. Melvin Morse.... (if I remember correctly) ... in his book Transformed By The Light. One group of people who had recently attempted suicide were simply given near death experience accounts to read....... zero people from that group attempted suicide again during the duration of the study, Dr. Morse felt that simply reading NDE accounts had a therapeutic effect on a significant percentage of people who were suicidal. If simply reading NDE accounts can alter the thought and behaviour pattern of people who are suicidal.... could they perhaps assist our young people to become less self destructive and prone to drug addiction or bullying???????
Yes.... and in theory...... alternative currencies initiated by North American churches...... could...... over time become exceptionally stable and reliable..... at least within various local areas so............ ... .it is theoretically possible for church printed time based currency notes...... to fuel a boom in real estate prices that could turn out to be more important to the economy than we might at first tend to imagine. Could a real estate boom plus better Fed policy pay off USA national debt?
If you teach comparative religion and include creationism with a variety of other myths or religious stories giving it no more weight than say hindu creation story I don't care. It can't be included in a science or biology class. Practically speaking I don't care what you teach adults nearly as much.
So.... you are not at all open to the idea that the time could come when a Christian dies... and finds out the the most fundamental energy form for the Holy Ghost / The Holy Spirit...... might be feminine? What about somebody Jewish...... could they die and find out that the Shekina Glory of G-d might also be the Divine Femine...... the Ancient of Days the Mother?????? So you give Mr. Leonary Nimoy essentially zero credit for his idea: Note.... little Colton Burpo reported meeting the Holy Spirit.... and to him.... she appeard as an older man....... but I think that she is an exceptionally good actress and did not want to scare little Colton..... or his dad.... or his dad's church board of directors! This poll shows that the majority of posters on PoliticaForum .com have a bias against the testimony of little Colton Burpo... but I am impressed by his story. Friends of yours watch Heaven Is For Real and ask you about it? Is Colton Burpo a credible witness? No.... 5 vote(s) 71.4% * Yes.... 1 vote(s) 14.3% I am not sure but I am going to research this further. 1 vote(s) 14.3% Change Your Vote
But what about in private schools....... especially those connected to churches? Is it ethical for some variations of Young Earth Creationism and/ or Old Earth Creationism and / or various versions of Theistic Evolutionary Theory to be taught in private religious schools? If you think so... would you say that the more versions of these that are looked at..... the better it would be for the students? Dr. Chaim Tejman deserves Origin of Life Prize.
I think when a Christian dies they find out the exact same thing a non Christian does. But i don't know what that finding is, yet.
Quite frankly... I think that you are basically correct....... the percentage of Atheists capable of going on into the higher levels of paradise / heaven.... seems to be pretty similar to the percentage of Christians who can do this....... rapidly after their deaths. https://www.near-death.com/religion/atheism/an-analysis-of-the-ndes-of-atheists.html An Analysis of the Near-Death Experiences of Atheists Actually..... in 1975 Pastor Bob Jones had a near death experience and was shown that only about two percent of Christians could make it into heaven......... because we had not learned to love....... we had learned to debate, argue and feel superior to our "enemies" as opposed to actually loving our enemies....... I am sitting here kind of shocked at the very real possibility that perhaps a higher percentage of Atheists...... may make it into heaven / paradise..... than us Christians?????????? http://www.thequickenedword.com/rhema/BobJonesTestimonyAugust81975DeathExperience.htm Matthew 23:15 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Are we Christians.... mentoring our disciples into a way of thinking that is shockingly similar to the confident superiority of the Pharisees of the time of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus????????
Perhaps the key to making it into heaven was demonstrated both to his fellow Atheists....... as well as to us Christians....... Atheist Mellen Thomas Benedict..... had became like a child......... in the sense that once he got over the shock that his consciousness could exist outside of his body....... he saw a light... and said to himself...... Hey I betcha that glowing person of light is pretty cool.... .kind of like my own favourite teachers back in school...... and like my favourite professors at university........ so Atheist Mellen Thomas Benedict..... goes right over to the Being of Light...... and starts asking intelligent question... .after intelligent question.... .after intelligent question........... ..... and he doesn't intellectually short circuit when he finds out that his own soul/ human spirit....."Shul", (pardon my spelling)..... has actually existed from before the time of the most recent major Big Bang event......... https://www.near-death.com/reincarnation/experiences/mellen-thomas-benedict.html#a03 Matthew 18:3,4 "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
ID, creationism, young earth, etc., can be taught in Comparative Religions in HS. It cannot be taught as an alternative explanation in a science class.
Can it be taught in public high schools? Those that are owned by the State or Federal government of the USA?
Sure, the subject can be taught in American high schools. It is best taught in a liberal arts/humanities class on comparative religions. Some podjos wanted taught as a component in biology, which has always been opposed by the scientific community and most public school science teachers. Religious influence would very much like to get religious instruction into science class wherever and whenever possible.
At least some of the Dr. Chaim Tejman material seems quite appropriate for some classes in Theoretical Physics? I remember being taught basic Evolutionary Theory back in Grade 3 or so. The Dr. Chaim Tejman material would actually have fitted in there quite well if it had been written for a Grade 3 class. His drawings and diagrams....... impress me as being kind of brilliant and quite helpful. http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/Book4/Html/Tejmanphysics2.htm
