Why shouldn't I be upset. Any program that kills civilians should be morally reprehensible to any decent human being. That said the civilian death toll from drones doesn't even get close to the number of innocents killed as a result of Bush's fraudulent war. Oh and by the way it is all still going on.
Pelosi is smart. She knows that expending vast amounts of political capital on impeachment will do little good and just waste the narrow victory Democrats won in the midterm. She may not have the control to prevent it, but I bet she'll try. I am certainly glad for the gridlock. Unfortunately, the Dems are only likely to make Trump look good as he takes a bipartisan approach to getting his way.
You're right. If I remember correctly...Obama added surges of troops to fight. Is that correct? Let's google
Good question, and if it were up to me, we would be. I see you have a short term memory. Obama's drone expansion program was to limit the dangers of American casualties. The problem that ensued was that when many drone strikes occurred, the intel was wrong...killing civilians. I believe he droned a wedding? Or a birthday party? I'll have to google. Drones are a dangerous game. It's not like a 13F calling something in...it's a guy miles away on a computer.
It could be argued that democracy died when trump refused to accept the will of the MAJORITY of the people.
Yes why don't you look up the number of US troops in Iraq at the beginning and the end of the Obama presidency. Start here: https://www.cnn.com/2011/10/21/world/meast/chart-us-troops-iraq/index.html
It was democracy that put in place the electoral college in the Constitution. And the democratic process in place to change it.
Impeachment does not necessarily come as in its dictionary meaning but as rather the Sword of Damocles...
Actually Pelosi is not the Speaker of the House right now and the Democrats in the House haven't voted for who will become the Speaker of the House who will take on the job in January of 2019. If Pelosi becomes the Speaker of the House it will be more obstructionism and witch hunts and nothing will be accomplished in Congress for another two years.
Passing legislation should be the focus of the new House majority. Items such as deficit reduction and healthcare need to be the priority. Here is an opportunity to make a case for flipping the Senate in 2020. That why viable bills that resonate with the electorate should be passed even if they are shot down by the senate. Gaining a majority to impeach Trump first and foremost would be a fools errand. The American people are looking to their elected reps to legislate on those issues that drove them to the polls. Just an observation.
First lesson will be filibuster 101... then we'll think about drafting legislation instead of memos... piano piano...
Sessions sends his regards to those supposed sad faces on a TV you don't even watch... Could you actually read? Soros Soros Soros... He got no money compared to the famous Frankfurters; the Red Shields, they own the entire world man... Helloooo... You there?
Sessions's gone... And this Whitaker guy wrote last year that Mueller investigation has to be stopped.. I don't know...
What makes you think Dems can't handle it? Dems winning the house majority is not a narrow victory because Reps were in control of the house even during Obama's entire last term.. So it's a very big win against the most populist rightist administration that's been ever seen in the history of the US.. Chill because the blue wave is real...
Soros is forwarding a liberal one world political system similar to the Soviet Union, but instead of it being government controlled it is corporate controlled. His Open Society Foundation supports over 150 organizations in the US alone. He's been banned in Russia, Egypt, Hungary and scores of other countries because of his regime change NGO's. The last country screaming 'Soros out' was Macedonia.
To paraphrase obama, Trump has a pen and a phone. If he is smart, Trump will work outside the box and bypass the House - just like obama did. The Dems will use the House to block some things, but Trump can still achieve many things. He can reorganize and downsize and eliminate regulatory agencies, seal the borders, "interpret" regulations in a favorable manner. And with the Senate he can reorient the judiciary.
