Realistically, there's nothing to be done. In a perfect world voters would educate themselves using a variety of sources. This, so they don't get fooled by the pandering, emotionally manipulative language in the bill's preamble directed at parents.

 

I like to think I am well informed and I like this bill. Perhaps these voters are not so ignorant after all but just have different values and experiences than you do. Or maybe it is you who should be educated and reject the emotionally manipulative language.

 

I've read the emotionally manipulative, pandering language. I wasn't manipulated. Hence my opposition to the bill.
It's written in a way to both appeal to and frighten parents. Convincing them they lack the control they already had. Sorry to be redundant, I've said this in other threads, the bill is a solution in search of a problem..........unless the problem is the lack of a popular Repub agenda designed to address the many problems we face.
BTW, this bill is being copied all over Repub controlled states for the same reason it was passed in FL. To agitate the base, play to their prejudices, and get them to the polls.
If you were looking for a bill to effectively address sexual predators, the FL isn't it.

 

They ARE! Only NOW is a homophobe like DeSantis making it illegal. I mean, not as part of the curriculum. But, until now, any moderately competent teacher would explain to children who may be questioning or harassing (maybe even bullying) a classmate because they have two moms or two dads, that that's perfectly normal; and that they love each other just the same as a family with a mom and a dad.

Got it? This law tells teachers they can be sued if they stop the harassment or comfort the victim by explaining this obvious (to anybody but homophobes) fact.

Huh? Why would a third grader have any problem conceptualizing evolution? I'm sure conceptualizing creationism might be a bit more of a task. Especially if it conflicts with his other religious beliefs. But this is one of the reasons they don't teach religion in schools.

Stop making sense. I never knew about sex until puberty. But I learned math and could read at high school level. Maybe teachers could focus on that for a change.

There is no "don't say gay" bill. There's no bill titled that that language doesn't show up in any bill this is fake.

You quoted an anti-grooming bill. Why are you against bills forbidding grooming of children?
