The EPA sometimes makes me think of early Christianity's obsession with stamping out paganism. There is a missionary zeal that is disturbing in any official with the full power of the federal govt. behind him or her. I think somewhere along the way the ideal of justice may be getting lost in the zealots' pursuit of power.

Al Armendariz is a 3rd generation Texan.

Did you automatically think that just because he has a "funny" name and dark skin that he was a foreigner? I can't say that I'm surprised...

When all else fails, double down on the ignorance expressed in your last post... tried and true right-wing tactic.

Leffe, did you even read the OP?
This was a clear admission of abuse of govt power on full display. How is it defensible?

I did Trinity and can understand how it looks, but I understand this sort of thing from the inside view. His words were a bad selection to string together, but the sentiment (as I explained in the 2nd post) is unfortunately how this works.

Not only that, it is the only way it can work until these agencies can operate until they are correctly funded.

Audits are no where near an exact science. To fully, 100% audit an oil rig for example would take months, these are incredibly complex systems and are backed up with SOP's and training records and operational records. In this regard, companies need to feel the "threat" of audit.

I think the guy was an idiot in stating it the way he did - his manager should have serious words with him.

President Obama can by pass regulations by allowing Holder to run guns south to Mexico..Let his SS agents screw anything that moves while on the road..all on the taxpayers dime by the way..

Yet we have the libs here say penalize an entire industry because of an accident that plays right into their socialist views of transferring wealth from those that have it..To those who WANT IT.
Take the money from the oil companies in form of penalties and fees..taxes...
Takes the money from those who can afford to drive and STILL WANT TO and adds it to the slush fund of money to be redirected to those who do not drive and cant afford to do anything..because they either are unable or un willing to get a job and work.
Its a tax Hike in any other world..and the hike is passed down to consumers..

Transferring MORE money from those evil Rich people and giving it to the ACORN nuts that dont fall far from the socialist Nanny state tree.

The Wall was about the band feeling distant from the fans at live concerts, as the fans would turn up, take LSD and treat the gig as backgound music.

And my statement is trhat if Righties took the same view of the law with companies as they did with civilian criminals, they'd at least be consistent.

Statism, is generally applied as a term to people, not companies.

Romney says "We're not stupid," but I wonder about the more than average American.

Where do eople think the actual Tax Expense paid by Corporations to the FederalGovernment REALLY come from, other than part of the price we pay when we buy stuff?

This political trick of taxing us indirectly as if someone elese is getting the shaft makes me laugh,... and cry of course.

The whole Global Warming thingee is about Taxing us at the Energy sources that run the whole world so politicians can have more nepotism, commities, staff, and what has become a royal job with unblievable perks, benefits, retirement, and riches and fame.

Even worse, the Truth has been bashed so hard no one even wants to consider that deforrestation of almost all the earth's trees is the real cause since those trees were always the things which sucked up the CO2.

In addition to that, the Truth is that the sun is melting ice on Mars and the moon polar caps and other planets.
This suggests that cars have nothing to do with the rise in temperature.

We hear nothing aboiut how the money taxed on energy will be spent, and what problems due to Global Qwarming will need corrective measures and what steps are to be taken to adjust to rising water and worse weather.

Global Warming -- First Earth, Then Mars, Now Jupiter!

Oh, you skeptics are going to rue the day you doubted global warming! Hot off of NASAs website, we have undeniable proof of large-scale global warming, photographic evidence taken from space that shows the increased temperature generating new, violent storms. Deniers will have to eat some crow over this.

The bottom line is the cost of punitive harassment ends up in the price and availability of product. That matters.

I don't think the average American wants to pay $5 a gallon or more for gasoline, sit in the dark for lack of energy supplies, or depend on our enemies to keep us supplied.

So yes, ordinary people do care about the wacko environmentalists that Obama has appointed to the EPA.

Thanks for your strawman logical fallacy. I never claimed any such thing. Just because I said the EPA must be abolished because it is ineffective at protecting the environment doesn't mean that there aren't more effective ways for the government to protect the environment. Pollution is a violation of private property rights, which is a very serious offense.

The EPA is unconstitutional and is entirely unnecessary. It exists only as a method for large corporations to exert their influence over, to create environmental regulations that harm their small business competitors.

First of all, what happened to Obama's call to civility? Crucify them? really? not only is that offensive, we might get a wack job out there who goes out and actually tries to do this, knowing how violent the left and the occupy movement has been.

Second, can someone show me where the EPAs job is to crucify a certain industry or attack them? thanks

Does crucifying one of the few successful industries in the country strike you as sound economic policy?

Yeah, a fella has to feel downright sorry for the oil and gas companies as they continue to make their obscene profits through market manipulation while at the same time raising prices for American homeowners and drivers. Maybe we ought to take up a collection for them. The poor dears.
