No proof of that. Small business owners pay thousands to provide small group health policies and retirement plans for their employees.

This is irrevevant as long as the middle class is being strangled and the minimum wagers cannot make ends meet.

Money is not like the sock that vanishes from the tumble drier. Money is out there in someone's pocket. If you find that you suddenly have none then someone else suddenly has more :b0x0rz:

Apparently social issues are much easier to focus on than the economic issues.

At least Biden is being honest. Even if it's due to complete nescience and blurting things out he shouldn't.

If you adjust for purchasing price parity our minimum wage in Australia is $10USD per hour. We have bigger wages, but everything is far more expensive.

How you stop minimum wage hikes from just pushing everything up in price is a big issue. You could be paid a million an hour, it doesn't make much difference if a kilo of rice costs $2 million.

Wage theft is a disgrace, those who participate should be imprisoned. This is the free market position.

The 1%ers have not opened up the chasm between what they earn each year and what average Americans make in the same year.Who do you think sent all the American manufacturing jobs to the cheapest labor markets they could find in the world in the first place???Why that was your greedy capitalists who did that.

I totally agree that minimum wage should be raised to coincide with the cost of living. As an employee for 40 years where are employees are crucial to our business, we make sure our employees have profit sharing, health insurance and earn a wage high enough to pay their cost of living. Minimum wage should be at least 15.00+. However, there are part-time, low skill jobs that should start at $10.00/he .iMO

I am all for employees earning a livable wage and benefits that insure they have money to retire. If an employee doesn't respect their employees, they won't keep those those employees. Ours have been with us for over 25 years on average.

Women have all the rights that men do these days, and more.
Ridiculous. You really think you can win over people with more social issues?
That's pretty much all the mainstream Left has to offer these days, lipservice, platitudes and empty promises, oh and fake non-issues, like some transgender person allegedly suffering some little microagression.

Even many of those on the Left will begrudgingly agree with me here.

Raising the minimum wage might help many, but it's not by itself going to lead to prosperity.

The cost of living is $2 per day for food, less than a cent per day for water.

By shirking from one's responsibility for the well-being of the employees would be just asking for the Dark Ages to return and the world will resemble one of those science-future films with people scrounging the gutters for cockroaches to eat.

I wonder how much employees steal from their jobs.

Wonder how much illegal immigration has depressed wages.

It's certainly limited the available selection of jobs for elderly semi-retired workers and younger teen workers.

the cost of living includes housing, electric, gas, transportation, insurance required by law on cars, and so on. Plus these costs vary by location. That is why each State should set minimum wage.

You don't need a car or car insurance to live. People lived for millenia without electricity. Bit misleading calling it a cost of living.

How sad if that is all you believe employees working for a business deserve.

Democrat or Republican you should think a full-time time worked needs a living wage.

Well, in today's World and in this Country there are certain things everyone needs to pay for to have a good life and the ability to have children also.
If you live in a suburb because the apartments and homes are less costly, most individuals need a car to get to work. These days you need a phone not only for communication, but to pay bills, etc.

There are basic needs that people in this era need, much different than what was needed in the 60s

so are you disagreeing with my post?

as employees earn more money do to the work their employees do, they should increase their wages or benefits

But if they make less money they can't decrease the employees pay lower than minimum wage.
They have to fire employees and increase the workload on the others.

This is the most important response of the thread. Let me repeat it ... "Democrat or Republican you should think a full-time time worked needs a living wage."
