Fox News Has Divided Country In A Way Not Seen Since Civil War

The Huffington Post | By John Stephens | 12/08/2012 10:18 am EST
    Excerpts:

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr told HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps in an interview that he believes conservative media outlets such as Fox News are damaging the country.

Asked how he thought things have changed in the political landscape, Kennedy pointed to "big money" and "the right wing control of the American media, starting with Fox News" as hurtful to collaboration between differing political interests.

"Twenty-two percent of Americans say their primary news source is Fox News," Kennedy told HuffPost Live. "It's divided our country in a way that we haven't been divided probably since the Civil War, and its empowered large corporations to get certain kinds of politicians and ideologues who are in the United State Congress elected - the Tea Party ideologues who control the Republican Party."

Kennedy, who is the nephew of John F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy and attorney specializing in environmental law, also spoke about the hydraulic fracturing - or fracking - and the health risks and associated costs the practice represents for the country.”

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/07/robert-f-kennedy-jr-fox-news_n_2261043.html
    ......

When we see that 22 percent of Americans watch Fox News as their primary news source, we know we are in trouble. Never has their been such fractiousness between the parties and an unwillingness to work together with a rancid hatred displayed that has no place in adult politics. The current republican-led march toward the fiscal cliff shows us what we can continue to expect from republicans in Washington... nothing!!

Robert Kennedy Jr’s views on fracking should serve as a warning pertaining to our farm lands and valuable water sources in the coming years as the oil industry continues to gut the land for sand and tons of water in their newest form of blasting out oil and gas and which have already proven to be extremely dangerous in the use of chemicals which can pollute farmlands, lakes and streams to the detriment of our citizens, environment, and future food sources.

What about MSNBC who also divides? It's no secret that MSNBC are leftist with extreme rhetoric. Actually I'd argue that MSNBC has some of the worst rhetoric on any news network simply because they have alot of gay and black speakers on their who get away with it because we live in a politically correct society.

MSNBC is probably more guilty of division. It's no secret they pull in alot of white hating minorities and preach to the choir.

    F*** MSNBC.

I have to disagree. Fox News recognized a divided country and capitalized on it.

I wonder if Agent HuffPo can find a major FOX News host with divisive rhetoric that can match this:

I've heard much, much worse from MSNBC. They've gotten away with suggesting certain groups of people who aren't in their "circle" be straight up KILLED.

Never heard anything like that on Fox.

As I've said elsewhere, read today's Guardian. Murdoch tried to buy your Presidency, and his co-barons don't want you to know.

There is a difference in it being their primary news source and their only news source. I watch Fox and also watch ABC. I also have two local radio shows I listen to, one far Left and one far Right. I am amazed at what I learn from Fox that I won't get from other news outlets. I imagine they must be doing their job as not anyone on the Left likes them. As a matter of fact, they would love to get them off the air. That also tells me they are doing their job. As much as I dislike MSNBC, and they are as bias as Fox, I would never want to see them go off the air. How are we to get the whole story unless we have access to both sides?

Says the guy that posts Huff Po daily and splits.

Hey, do you have an unbiased news source that Americans can use?

No - your general on a white horse got disgraced and no longer leads the CIA, what ever that might be. But Murdoch thought he could run you, as do your other Republican masters. Mugs!

Problem is there's already been established direct link between Fox News and domestic terrorism.

    Not so with MSNBC

Could you translate that for me? I know in the past Murdoch tried to get Hillary elected president and that didn't work out too well for him.

No, he wasn't, Petreaus was flawed.

Thus in the spring of 2011 – less than 10 weeks before Murdoch's centrality to the " ...hacking and politician-buying scandal enveloping his British newspapers was definitively revealed – Fox News' inventor and president, Roger Ailes, dispatched an emissary to Afghanistan to urge Petraeus to turn down President Obama's expected offer to become CIA director and, instead, run for the Republican nomination for president, with promises of being bankrolled by Murdoch. Ailes himself would resign as president of Fox News and run the campaign, according to the conversation between Petraeus and the emissary, K T McFarland, a Fox News on-air defense "analyst" and former spear carrier for national security principals in three Republican administrations.

All this was revealed in a tape recording of Petraeus's meeting with McFarland obtained by Bob Woodward, whose account of their discussion, accompanied online by audio of the tape, was published in the Washington Post – distressingly, in its style section, and not on page one, where it belonged – and, under the style logo, online on December 3.

Indeed, almost as dismaying as Ailes' and Murdoch's disdain for an independent and truly free and honest press, and as remarkable as the obsequious eagerness of their messenger to convey their extraordinary presidential draft and promise of on-air Fox support to Petraeus, has been the ho-hum response to the story by the American press and the country's political establishment, whether out of fear of Murdoch, Ailes and Fox – or, perhaps, lack of surprise at Murdoch's, Ailes' and Fox's contempt for decent journalistic values or a transparent electoral process... ROFL!

All the Liberals have done over the past decade is practice Politics of Division. Now some left wing rag site wants to point fingers at Fox News?

    Dear Liberals,

You have turned into MARXISTS. Most of you don't even know what that means. But, fortunately, I am here to educate you. Marxism has 3 basic tenants.

    1. Class Warfare
    2. Statism
    3. Socialism

These are exactly the three primary focuses you "Liberals" have today.

Don't ever preach to us about division. That is all your der Leader practices by pitting races, classes, sexes, generations, etc... against each other for political gain. And you willing idiots fall for it every time because it "feels right".

Dopes wake up... you are being played by Marxists and accepting it blindly.

Top 10 Reasons George Soros Is Dangerous

    1. Gives billions to left-wing causes: Soros started the Open Society Institute in 1993 as a way to spread his wealth to progressive causes. Using Open Society as a conduit, Soros has given more than $7 billion to a who’s who of left-wing groups. This partial list of recipients of Soros’ money says it all: ACORN, Apollo Alliance, National Council of La Raza, Tides Foundation, Huffington Post, Southern Poverty Law Center, Soujourners, People for the American Way, Planned Parenthood, and the National Organization for Women.

    2. Influence on U.S. elections: Soros once said that removing President George W. Bush from office in 2004 was the “central focus of my life.” He put his money where his mouth is, giving $23.58 million to various 527 groups dedicated to defeating Bush. His early financial support helped jump-start Barack Obama’s political career. Soros hosted a 2004 fund-raiser for Obama when he was running for the Illinois Senate and gave the maximum-allowed contribution within hours of Obama’s announcement that he was running for President.

    Liar.

He named many other left wing sources as well. Which makes the link not direct, but peripheral.

Fox has finally given a voice to the half of america that had been shut out of the media by the leftist marxists.

But we understand, marxists cannot tolerate differing viewpoints because they know they will always lose the debate when both sides are heard.
