So in other words you can't debunk anything he posted up. Thanks for validating that.

"Shutdown Donnie" will have much to answer for, in the years ahead.
Or not, if he keeps scarfing down Big Macs.

Not according to the mentally ill idiot running the country. This is just a further example of his impotence and incompetence. We have the first shutdown in our history where one party is in full control of the government.

You guys are not in the minority anymore (where you belong) and oh my, republicans are unable to govern. What a surprise!

Correct.....the Demos attached 2 non related issues to the Deal. Repubs were even willing to give them one out of the 2 CHIP.

Correction, first time in U.S. history where illegal aliens have the power to shut down the federal government.

That's what it's all about, obstructionism against the Trump administration and illegal aliens have moved to the top of the pecking order in America.

An interesting (and factually wrong) definition of "majority."

Even if you had 60 Republican senators, you still would need to deal with the fact that several republicans voted against this bill.

Border security is a budgetary matter. It isn't a Law.

Indeed. House Republicans have been described as "caving" to Democrats demands. And yet in the Senate, to prove Dems are simply trolling for election year talking points, they shoved in the DACA deal.

It will be interesting to see how allowing illegal aliens to hold the country hostage is going to play out.

Whatever spin makes you feel better.

Americans, by a 2 to 1 margin, disagree.

Four Republicans voted No, and five Democrats voted Yes.

"Five Democrats sided with the majority of Republicans to vote for the bill: Sens. Heidi Heitkamp (ND), Doug Jones (AL), Claire McCaskill (MO), Joe Manchin (WV), and Joe Donnelly (IN). Meanwhile, four Republicans broke ranks to cast “no” votes: Sens. Lindsey Graham (SC), Rand Paul (KY), Mike Lee (UT), and Jeff Flake (AZ)".

Lindsey Graham may come off the worst in all of this.

New York Times blames Democrats for ‘blocking’ Senate funding bill only 45 Republicans supported.....

As the nation inched closer to the first government shutdown since 2013, the New York Times figured out who to blame: Democrats.

At around 10PM, the Senate took up a procedural vote to advance a Republican plan to fund the government four additional weeks. Under Senate rules it would require 60 votes for passage. Theoretically, a majority of Republicans could have gotten behind the plan and Democrats could have “blocked” it.

But that’s not what happened. Only 45 Republican Senators supported the Republican plan.

Nevertheless, the New York Times decided that Senate Democrats were to blame for “blocking” Republican legislation that only 45 Senate Republicans supported.....snip~

Seems it isn't working with the NY Times, CNN, or NBC.

Question for you, MrT.... If either the R's had more Senators (shudder the thought) OR if those 4 R's had voted Yes, do you think some of the 5 D Yes votes would have gone No, or were those 5 committed regardless?... My evil thought of the night is that Schumer (or somebody) engineered those 5 Yes votes of those purple state D's to make it appear that both sides could cross votes. If he had needed them back for any reason, I suspect he could have gotten them.... whaddya think?

I'm not sure what that has to do with who bears most of the blame in the opinion of the American public. Every survey I have seen lays it primarily on Trump and the Congressional Republicans, but if you can offer any legitimate contradictory polls, I'd be glad to see them.

This is proof positive progressive hate America and love illegals.

In California 2 to 1 are low information. That's a fact.

Schumer, Pelosi and the Democrats are allowing illegal aliens to blackmail Congress and the federal government.

Republicans (and Democrats) have had numerous opportunities to deal with immigration issues over the years, but it's one of those "hot button" issues that BOTH parties use to bring out the faithful to vote. Republicans WANT the illegal immigration issue to remain "hot", so they have avoided any meaningful bills to deal with it. Like abortion, parties leave things hanging as fund raiser issues.

What we really need is a bill that demands other bills be "clean" and deal with specific issues - not pile on every pork-barrel issue that will fit in 1,000 pages. That's a problem BOTH parties need to deal with.
