The democratics think they can get amnesty by bullying the repubs

But trump is not so easy to crack

If he gives the DACAs amnesty he will never get any of his demands

It has to be a package deal or nothing

The issue needs to be separated. They were working on DACA until Durbin revealed the Dems have no interest in resolving the mess Obama created.

Schumer's Shutdown can continue as long as the Dems want. When they've lost many of their own media partners on the issue, they will likely blink and get the CR done.

I'd like to see this method of funding government ended for good. That's a separate issue, but it must be addressed at some point.

Correct! When Reagan tried to put fairness and sanity into immigration policy back in the 1980's, the Democrats stabbed him in the back. Today, this bunch of America-hating, disloyal Democrat bastards in Congress would JUMP at the chance to stab Trump in the back....

I can only assume you want to be embarrassed.

    ABC/Washington Post: Oversampled Liberals.,

    Democrats 31
    Republicans 23

    CNN Oversampled Liberals.

Among the entire sample, 33% described themselves as Democrats, 24% described themselves as Republicans,

    Qunnipiac Oversampled Liberals

PARTY IDENTIFICATION Republican 24% Democrat 32

It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Of course you never bothered to check because that would require some level of honesty and competence in the polls being supported by the far left on this board. :)

Shumer wants amnesty without giving anything in return

Thats why he is tying it to the CR to force repubs to cave

Typically happens when you poll. You sample by make up. There are more liberals than others.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn, what an "exceptional" political system. Even when "one" party is in total control, all they ever have to do is bitch about the "other" out of power party and the rubes salivate like Pavlov's dogs.

Well sure. He's shutting down the government in an attempt to add another talking point to their election year messaging.

He has no real interest in resolving the issue. They haven't for years.

In the private sector, I hope you can understand, we take responsibility for our "own pensions". We invest in how we see fit and if they fail or come up short, we take responsibility for that. In government, we wail like a baby if government overspends and cannot fund them. This is going on in states all over. Tough nut. You put your trust in government, don't come crying to the private sector when you get short changed. You have risk too and you are not "entitled" to bypass that risk.

CNN poll: 'DACA not worth a shutdown, except to Democrats'

A sure sign that President Trump has changed the battlefield over shutdowns.

So it appears that you believe "leading" entails granting amnesty to well over 800,000" while failing to secure the border in the future. You probably are already planning DACA II to shore up your voting base. Juan McCamnesty, Lamey Graham and Jeff Snowflake lead that way....not President Trump.

I'm not going to point out what's wrong. What I will say is that the march deadline coincides with this budget bill (this why they were tied together) and that the march deadline was entirely a fabrication of Trump's own decision making...one that he could unilaterally change at any moment. Oh, and not to mention that Trump could have made a deal (even suggesting multiple times that he agreed to a deal) before sandbagging the negotiations.

And finally, I will add the fact that this is the first time in US history that the government shut down while all three branches were controlled by the same party.

And that failure lies entirely at the feet of trump.
