Homosexuality will never be or should be a Protect Class

who says you cant wake up one morning and decide you are transgender and a week later wake up and decide you aren't
haven't we been told sexual orientation and sexual identity is fluid

you would have to show in any of those on the list of protected class ones in those classes was excluded to make your argument

 

do you know how much that cost a business to now have to by regulations to provide 4 different bathrooms one male one female one handicap and now one gender natural

 

Well, the most common sense solution is to simply make it so that the only bathroom required is one that is both gender neutral and handicapped accessible.

 

The entire protected class concept needs to go, because once one is protected, they'll never give it up. For example, women are graduating at a higher rate than males in college. Logic would dictate that there no longer needs to be AA for college entrance nor special scholarships that exclude men. YET, you can barely find any male ONLY scholarships, but LOADS of female only ones. That needs to be flipped now to even the ratios, yet it will NOT happen anytime soon, if ever. It will be the same with Hispanics once they reach 50/50 with white people. They will still demand minority status after its long gone. Gay people will always demand equality even though they currently have it. There is not a single law on the books that says you can discriminate against a gay person, but not a straight person. The SAME laws apply to everyone, yet they don't have equal rights? Explain.

Adding qualifiers like "The desire for non-consensual sex is not considered a sexual orientation by these laws" is pretty simple.

good point, religion is already a protected class.. because of those that discriminate against people with differing beliefs...... you can't be fired because of your religion, you can still be fired for not doing your job though

homosexuals just want that same protection because of the homophobes that would discriminate against them, this would also apply to heterosexuals if someone fired them because they were heterosexual

In the long run, I agree with ending this principle.

It wasn't until recently that I figured we were ready to get rid of it now, although with the recent rash of black churches being burnt down, I think it's still relevant.

 

It seems obvious that the majority if not all of the reasons that people do not wish to allow others to live the way they want to is religion based distaste for who they are. Just as Christians in this country once persecuted women as witches, Atheists as devil worshipers, or even Irish folk as the wrong type of Christian...now they are focused on homosexuality.

 

IMO it seems that way because fire and brimstone preaching and imaginary demons are just so much more colorful, intrusive and loud than the voices of reason.

 

There should be no "protected class". Here's an idea: Why don't we treat everyone equally under the law instead.

I think you are saying a "Protected Class" was meant to exclude.....that's one way of looking at it I suppose as anti-discrimination laws only covered those groups who had been historically discriminated against by the majority; white males. One can wake up and decide anything they want, but one will never be able to decide on a weekly basis which bathroom they want to use.
To get labeled, for a lack of a better term, Transgender, will take years of therapy and certification from a professional pshychiatrist.
Anyone going into the wrong gender bathroom, can be prosecuted.
