I can't really get into the notion of the alleged creator of these instruction sets, alas. 'Gods' are easily created and have a very long half-life, I fear.
I cannot blame you. Which is really why killing people, like gag me with a spoon "may Allah destroy them" [9.30], over people believing Jesus was the son of God is so ethnic cleansing evil. Sometimes religions, which really are not a faith but an evil nation, which have the ability of total war, do more to kill a loving God than anything.
That portion of God, which was the Word, died and went to hell where he released other captives from their chains. This is in the Book of Peter. The humanity, that was Jesus, died and rose again. The part of God who is known as the Father and who is known as the Holy Spirit, did not die but did allow that part of God known as the Son to be seperated and desend into Hell. God the Father was there to raise God the Son out of Hell and to resurrect the human body in the process.
Gods don't die, they just go some where else. Didn't you watch StarTrek? Only Apollo was willing to wait around for us to try have enough morals.
But the body is just like a shell... Disposable. Temporary. It decomposes after death. But it does contradict the Bible. The Bible says God is immortal. So, He can't die, otherwise he would then be a mortal, like humans, right? From my understanding at least.
But in other faiths, for example Islam, we believe that without believing Jesus PBUH was God, or God or Jesus PBUH died on a Cross. We believe after death on this Earth we get life in either paradise or hell. I don't think there is an honest answer, what I mean by that is people believe it because thats something they truly believe in. I wasn't questioning why people believe God or Jesus PBUH died on the Cross, just how it was possible for an immortal God to be killed by humans.
First off .. we have no idea whether God has body a or not. Presumably God could take any form. If God did become "truly" human/mortal, then there would have been no way of resurrecting himself. We could explain this away by saying God knew that after death his spirit would return to its full power. What is a bit harder to explain is why God would choose such a masochistic act to get a message across. (should we feel sorry for God in that God was the one who chose this to begin with?) What is even harder to explain is why God would call out to himself while hanging on the cross. "why have you forsaken me" Did God forget who he was or did he start imagining things ? The idea that perhaps Jesus was not God is implied. Jesus in numerous other places implies that he is not God by refer to "the Father" as someone other than himself. "the Father is greater than I"... and so forth. This is likely why early Christians and Church Fathers believed that Jesus was subordinate to the Father.
How Zeus, Odin... and others God/mythologies died? People left to believe in them. When people leave to believe in some God they die. God is just an idea, and if no one supports that idea, that idea just dies and passes to the myths, the mythology...
But the Abrahimic God isn't really comparable to the Greek Gods, Hindu Gods, etc. I am talking physically dying, physically being killed. Not the idea of God being killed, the actual entity being killed.
to some being mortal just means you attach something immortal to one of those shells God was immortal it attached something mortal the immortal part was still apparently quite indestructible Still don’t see any contradiction To some christens you can’t kill any one you can just kill their shells humans are immortal like god
i know for lds church theres no problem with god being like us in that to them there god was are father there god was like us some of us will be gods there no internal problem with that either
If you leave to believe in it you kill it. Zeus... are dead because no one believes in them. If someone restarted the cult and many people worship them, that Gods would resurrect. The death or life of the Gods depend of the people that believe on them. And, talking about killing the Abrahamic God according to its mythology, I think that it would be impossible. It is suposed that is the being most powerful of the Universe, and is able to control everything. So, can you kill someone that just saying die or whatever you're dead? That is impossible. The others gods in their myths, in their stories there were described different ways to kill them. But in the Abrahamic there is no myth that talks about the possibility to kill God. So I suppose that is impossible to kill. Maybe the Devil could confront him, but not kill God. This is based in the mythology of the Christianity...
Well... there are gods that in their stories explained how to kill them, for example in the different mythologies like the Greek or the Nordic. But the only way to kill a God, is leaving to worship him, forgetting the god. That would eventually kill this God.
Not the most - but sometimes I have the feeling the "best" enemies of god were educated first from Catholics. Somtimes I have the feeling Catholics are able to fall deeper than anyone else on this planet - but also Angels can fall very deep. http://youtu.be/9_Ab0ci6UGQ
Every Christian believes in the triune god. A "Christian" who believes not in Jesus is not a Christian. And this is specially in communcation with Muslims important, because Mohammed installed himselve as a person (paraklet) in the position of the Holy Spirit - so it's difficult for Muslim to get a feeling for the loveful light of life in the shadow of Mohamed. In the eyes of Mohamed we would not be monotheists what would give every Muslim the right of Mohamed to murder every Christian immediatelly. Such a fear - even if the most people are not aware of this problem - is perhaps confusing sometimes the free mind of the people. Not t foegt. The most MNSums live in pee togeterh with memebers of other religions - as long as they are not in a minority. http://youtu.be/WmxXwAgkhWQ
What now: Was you educated to be a free thinker or educated to be a Catholic? Free thinkers are atheists and not members of the catholic church. How are you able to say you was a Catholic? http://youtu.be/GkKcKaatfPU
If god comes today as a human being to this world here then what do you expect would the people really do with him? Would they make him to the first leader of this world or would they ... Or: Where do you think are you able to find the Messiah if you take a look all around this world? Where the rich, sane, mighty and beauty people are living or where the poor, insane, helpless and ugly people are living? Jesus Christ was by the way killed in a similiar way as it is shown on this picture:
Counterquestion: If god is dead now - why should s/he not live the next moment? What's your real problem? Your thoughts about god or god as s/he's god? http://youtu.be/glrBz3GrFsQ
Can life change his mind? Can death change his mind? Where was you 500 years ago? I would say you was at this moment in the mind of god. Nothing is worrying if we are thinking about our death before we were born. But "Peve" was perhaps also in his mind and "Peve" is not living today - so we know nothing about him, not even his real name. Perhaps we are able to say: this world here is changing something. But this changes are perhaps not always in the best of all possible ways. But in the end perhaps all ways lead back to the same point in god and so we are indeed living in the best of all possible worlds. We will see. The only problem: We dont know why this world here is existing and we don't know the plans of god. I guess we would not even be able to understand his plans. But we know he loves us - he loves his creation. And it is good what he made - said the good. The question is to trust in god or not to trust in god. If god would change his mind then the truth and the world itselve would change. If 1+1 would be one moment 2 and the other moment 3,14 then we would get very strange problems. Same if we would have a weight of 200 kg suddenly and the next moment 50 kg. http://youtu.be/GkJM5Upfusc
The half life live span of an average religion is 8.5 minutes. Your mighty "no-god" lives a little longer meanwhile. Why do you discuss about religious themes? Only because you like to tell Christians that they er idiots what everyone believes - including Christians themselve? http://youtu.be/qYS732zyYfU
You are confusing the expressions "perception" and "truth". There's only one truth but there are lots of perceptions and thoughts. The truth is completly independent from any perception of human beings. Sometimes we are able to understand something - sometimes not. But we are able to seek and we are able to communicate - as long as we are not nihilists. To believe that we all together are able to find good ways is an important step of this what I would call "to trust in god". http://youtu.be/t63iAnAVN7Q
