I wonder if the minimum wage workers at Godfather's Pizza think Cain is "pro-worker"

    Idiotic strawman.

Another idiotic strawman. I'm not saying that no one that owns a lot of resources never did anything themselves to get them. That's not the point.

But if you have a small group of people having gargantuan economic influence, that's dangerous whether these people are in a government, a mafia, or a non-violent business.

Henry George: "What has destroyed every previous civilization has been the tendency to the unequal distribution of wealth and power."

For what's it's worth, it wouldn't be surprising if a significant portion of his help is illegal.

Hiring illegals is like masturbation. Everyone does it, but few like to admit to it.

Cool. Yet apparently you've never been to an American K-12 school because if you had, you'd know (unless you have amnesia or brain damage) that all they teach you are the basics of English grammar, some fairly common vocabulary words, some basic math concepts, and a lot of useless trivia.

How 'bout you go become a surgeon or an engineer with a highschool education. Most careers demand more than that these days.

Those are all mostly offered either by banks or the government, which a lot of economic conservatives despise. I'm surprised you're promoting them.

On a side note, I am economically conservative to some extent myself.

you are totally missing my point.....americans can buy on the backs of the chinese......I tell you what......you go work for a bowl of rice so that the chinese can afford to buy whatever it is you are producing. Let the yuan rise.....sure america would collapse but why should the chinese care? Its america's problem not theirs.....and dont give me this crap that the chinese need you to consume......they can consume every bit as much as anybody else if the government would just allow the yuan to appreciate!

The people who are benefitting most from Chinese serfdom are the rich corporation owners and their ilk.

..and those of us who aren't afraid to "Buy Chinese" or have some sick attachment to economic nationalism.

I just bought a Chinese made telescope, supposedly the optics were supposed to all inferior and cheap. I actuall found the optics quality to be rather excellent, most certainly equal to more expensive products.

Chinese products are climbing in quality every year.

How do you not benefit from lower prices with equal quality? That's your benefit from globalization, rock bottom low prices, everyday.

Because I don't buy or NEED or rely on the crap that they produce. They make a lot of little toys for whiny kids that people stupidly had so that these parents can have a slight bit of peace as they go out to eat at Mcdonald's and so they can distract their brats. They make a lot of inferior pencils and tools that I could easily afford if they were made in the U.S.

I repeat, the only people it really benefits would be big wig capitalists. This is why wealth disparity has become so great in the last few decades.

Go ahead and buy Chinese but then don't complain about unemployment and inflation.

Me I have 2 GM cars and a Harley. I also avoid Wal-Mart that sells for China.

I do not buy union but I do American when ever possible. I support American workers not the Chinese government

I graduated from them as did all three of my children and my grand children. That you believe they are not performing well has nothing to do with Cain and and OP smear.

Are you claiming surgeons and engineers never went to high school? Are you claiming those are the ONLY marketable skills? The first step to NOT being a minimum wage employee is not get your HS diploma, where you go after that is up to you.

They are offered mostly by private groups and private business.

I bought a Chinese made Telecaster which is far and above the ones made in Mexico and on a par with the American made ones at half the price.

The point is that highschools (both public and private) waste a lot of time and are very inefficient, for the purpose of dragging out teaching kids for years and thus giving parents the illusion that their kids are getting an extensive education. Period.

That's what profit motivation does to societies.

and this is why the exporters ( the ones in china that benefit) are lobbying the chinese government to keep the status quo........if the chinese government would allow the yuan to rise there would all of the sudden be an extra billion new consumers in china.......the US would collapse of course but why should china care? The US should make it on their own merits, not by being susidized on the backs of others!

I think if Chinese and Indian etc. people didn't multiply like bacteria, this all wouldn't be a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing problem.

Birth control and abortions are better at preventing economic disaster than even capitalism.

Overpopulation is, as a matter of fact, the world's BIGGEST individual problem, sir.

but for a totally different reason......there is problems with feeding all those people true.....but I just gave a solution.....let the yuan rise......oh but wait....thats not good for americans right? And tell me something....why should the chinese care? why should they sacrifice their labour so that you can buy on the cheap? If you are so in love with that idea then by all means you can go and work for peanuts so that others can enjoy the fruits of your labour!

Again, why don't they just stop contributing to their overpopulation problem that way there are more jobs to go around?

Job scarcity is yet another huge problem with overpopulation-if there's too many people around, there ain't gonna be enough jobs to go around.

thats not the problem....they cant afford what they produce.....if the yuan would be allowed to rise then all of the sudden a billion washing machines and plasma TV's would be in demand in china....and god knows how many computers and digital cameras and new cars......if the yuan would rise the demand for their products would come from within!

But they can teach you enough so that you can go to college and learn it. In fact, in the local system, the school system provides free (meaning the student pays nothing) dual enrollment in the local community college. My sons' former babysitter managed to get about the first year and a half of college done before she graduated from high school. She graduated college in 2 1/2 yrs with a math major. So, yes, the public schools can provide you with the knowledge to get you started on a path to almost any career.

Are you that ignorant? China has had a one child policy from 1978 to last March. They are actually having a problem now, in that their baby boomers are approaching retirement age, and they don't have enough population to provide for them.

Way overrated. Read the Population Bomb by Paul Ehrlich. The world should be all starving by now. We're not. In fact, the proportion of people starving on earth is lower than it was when the Population Bomb was written.

You do realize that China has had a one child policy since 1978, don't you? They are having the opposite problem. They are about to be in a place where they don't have nearly enough workers per retiree. (like western Europe and America are starting to notice).
