Crab pot is a borrowed terminology referring to the tendencies of various groups on the lower end of the socioeconomic scales tendency to drag each other down. It is a reflection of the fact that as long as you have at least two crabs in the pot the pot doesn't need a lid because any crab that is about to make his escape will immediately be drug back in by the others. The phrase 'on steroids' simply implies that for a variety of reasons this impact seems to be amped up in in the 'hood.

It's important to note that, whether or not African Americans are more intelligence and European Jews are more intelligent (they're a tiny racial group and have won approximately 25% of all Nobel prizes in one field or another), it's all in a bell curve. Even if, on average, African Americans are less intelligent, there are still going to be African American geniuses, they'll just be significantly less common.

Also, European Jews have higher IQs than any other race. Asians come in a close second.

 

Neurotic obsession has nothing to do with it. The primary impulse driving this is two fold intellectual laziness, and a desire to be able to ignore reality. In short it becomes an excuse to do nothing. Outside of the extreme minority of true racist, most of whom are anti social loons, what most Caucasians want out of this whole racial canard is themselves. They are tired of dealing with it and want to be left alone. So they take the easiest excuse and move on.

it depends on what you mean by inherent...

african americans, on average, have lower IQ. this is not due to "race" however, but to culture. There are examples of blacks raised outside of the afro-american sub-culture, and they have normal IQ, and there are examples of white groups with as bad or even worse IQ than the average afro-american. So clearly, it's not due to race. Also, if there is a genetic aspect to it, it's not a very important factor since there are many documented examples of groups which had low IQ in one generation, but above average in the next generation, jews in the US being one of those groups. that blacks have lower IQ, and jews have higher IQ, isn't really because of some innate racial qualities, but because the different attitudes blacks and jews in general have to education, and wheter they shun or encourage "being smart".

the solution is simple: fix the culture. however, just because the solution is simple doesn't mean its easy. it is unfortunately true that lagging groups tend to cling to their culture rather than change it, especially so if they are a historically oppressed minority. It is much psychologically easier and appealing to just blame your problems on others, than to realise you need to change. Of course, blacks can legitimately blame some of their problems on others, but not all of it. but.. in the times we live in, it's taboo to criticise any part of a culture.. Personally, I think there's very little prospect of positive change at the moment.
