obviously there's some genetics to it. The question is.. how big a role does it play? and, how far back does it effect? obviously the parents matter, but how much does the grandparents matter, and beyond that? We know that it is very possible to see significant improvements in IQ over generations. The point thus is that this disproves the notion that e.g. blacks would are destined to forever have lower IQ. clearly not. If all blacks were to suddenly get e.g. jewish culture, we would no doubt see that blacks would get close to jew level IQ within a few generations.

 

You can't study for an IQ test. The SAT tests your knowledge in several areas and your ability to express that information. An IQ test measures your capacity to think and learn. An Ivy League college education won't increase an individual's IQ.

 

Take a mentally retarded child and educate him/her with the finest teachers from 2-20. They will still be mentally retarded. IQ is static.

I don't think race has anything to do with intelligence, but intelligence, itself, is not what matters. It's what you do with the intelligence you have that matters.

What should we do about that? Give people the opportunity to enhance whatever intelligence and skills they have in schools and an opportunity to put them to work in a job once they get out of school.

Better check the studies. People who stay in the education system longer do better as a result, not the opposite.

No properly done peer reviewed study has ever shown that race impacts IQ. Ever. In fact where socioeconomic, educational and cultural environment is similar for races (for example children of US servicemen in Germany) races are indistinguishable from each other when it comes to scholastic achievement or propensity to crime.

does that date give concise information on 'heritability'? does it differentiate for nurture vs nature? because you know, intelligent and educated parents are statistically far more likely to start early on their childrens' education. That's NURTURE.
