So they do pay taxes, they just get refunds at the end of the year that end up being more then they paid. Why not just say that?

Because if you get more from the government in total than you're giving them, you're not really paying.

I'll give you $5 for a $10 return all day.

Just because DailyKos tells you something, doesn't mean it's true.

    That list is 100% legit.

Imagine your living paycheck to paycheck (for whatever reason) which is the reality for most near and at the bottom.

It doesn't really matter what happens at tax time when you are at the counter making a purchase and paying whatever tax you have to pay.

Most people don't have the attention span or ability to view things on that kind of time scale. It's more like "what can I afford with the money I have on me right now".

    I know.

    I made about $200 a week as an E-1.

Feelings isn't the point. The point is, they don't effectively pay taxes, at all.

    Effectively no.

Unfortunately, effective only matters at tax time.

Also, E-1? Is that a military thing?

Progressive tax rates are equal — they apply to everyone.

does anyone believe Trump has not violated the foreign-emoluments clause?

why would the entire congress have to sue, 215 members seems enough

Former POTUS, Trump can resign and do whatever he pleases, go back to the apprentice, pay someone to write a book, whatever

right now though he is President, he should at least try to act like it

Cool, and I bet trumps books have sold more since he won also. Notice nobody is asking about that? That isn’t using his office to get rich since he book was already written.

Well take your argument to the judge, are Congressmen above the law?

So when will the Democrats finally realize they actually need to stop with the hardball partisan politics and actually govern? After Trump is acquitted in the Senate, if he gets impeach at all? Or will they just continue to waste time on their petty politics?

The Dems, or progressive left, has been using the court process as a cudgel to beat the partisan drums in lieu of honestly attempting to legislate. They file suits knowing full well that the law isn't on their side. Lawfare, using dilatory procedural tactics when elections don't go your way.

    So yeah, it's a win.

You realize trump has had more rules invalidated by the courts than any other POTUS in our country’s history, yes?
As for legislating, they have passed close to 400 bills — many with bipartisan support — that a single republican will not even allow the Senate to conciser.

What does your response have to do with what you quoted from me?
