How odd. You complain they see progressive Christianity as evil but complain their, closer to real Christianity version, is evil.
Can you see the problem here?

Scott Douglas Lively (born December 14, 1957), an American author, attorney, and activist. He is noted for his opposition to LGBT rights and his involvement in the ex-gay movement. He is the president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a conservative Christian organization located in Temecula, California,[1] and the former state director of the California branch of the American Family Association. Lively has called for the criminalization of "the public advocacy of homosexuality" as far back as 2007,[2][3] and is allegedly involved in pending anti-gay legislation in Uganda.[4]

Lively formed Watchmen on the Walls, an evangelical ministry, in Riga, Latvia.[5]

According to a January 2011 profile, Lively "has not changed his view that gays are 'agents of America’s moral decline', but has refocused his approach to fit his flock in Springfield, Massachusetts" and "is toning down his antigay rhetoric and shifting his focus to helping the downtrodden."[6]

On August 14, 2013 a federal judge ruled that the case against Scott Lively, by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) on behalf of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), a Uganda-based coalition of LGBTI rights and advocacy groups, can move forward against him. This is a first-of-its kind case in which the lawsuit alleges that Lively’s actions over the past decade, in collaboration with certain Ugandan government officials and Ugandan religious leaders, are responsible for depriving LGBTI Ugandans of their fundamental human rights based solely on their identity, which is the definition of persecution under international law and is deemed a crime against humanity. This effort resulted, most notably, in the introduction of the notorious Anti-Homosexuality Bill — widely known as the “Kill the Gays” bill — which Lively allegedly helped engineer

it would be truly free if all the gays moved to Australia, where the entire country seems to be prepared to receive them..............no? I know I would be free in a free society that was free to voice my opinion without some warmongering gay-Lib telling me they'll sue me for voicing my opinion..............not as free as you claim.

Should you ever go to Malaysia, you will see red telephone boxes of the sort that were common in England up to around 15 or 20 years ago.
You may wonder what that has to do with the thread but those little red boxes are a parallel to Christianity in Uganda.
Joe Church, and his band of merry men, revived the church in east Africa at a time when homosexuality was illegal in England and, very much like Malaysia's red telephone boxes, that survived when it was lost in the country of origin.
Of course, far right hate preachers have tried to fan the flames, but there was already a fire.

    Please check

Britain has moved on since those times thankfully

At the moment we are dealing with a campaign largely run by the neo Conservatives to present to African's a deceitful view of homosexuality as being unreal and a trick by neo imperialists to try and 'plague' their countries with evil people who will harm them. In response they are going for harsh prison sentences or the death penalty for LGBT.

The deception is bolstered by bribery of African political and religious leaders.

This is a cultural war in which Uganda is being used as a proxy. The intent is against progressive Christianity who they claim are evil and 'promote' homosexuality. We have bribery and deceit used against progressive Christians. Africa having the most Christians is the place where they have chosen to make their attack and who they wish to promote homophobia, not least within the US.

Further Progressive Christians are those who fought for the end of apartheid, equality in all it's variations, education for all, health for all and looking after the planet. Clearly these things are not what neo conservatives want. They want the right of the individual to exploit the weak. By demeaning the Church in this way they hope to get rid of a very powerful opponent. At the same time Uganda itself believes in the same kind of social policies as the progressive Christians. It will be likely that in time they will wake up.

In the meantime they are being used, abused and bribed and the first result is cruelty to homosexuals in Uganda. I would guess that homosexuality is possibly not the main aim. The main aim is to stop the 'social witness' of progressive Churches and stop them doing good in the world.

    No.

Which warmongering gay-lib is telling you that they will sue you for voicing your opinion?

Is this a real person or an imaginary friend?

We are all free here in the U.S. to criticize whatever government actions we want to, and of course people criticize decisions of the U.S. government regularly. So for instance if Indonesia decided to make Christianity illegal, and imposed a life sentence on anyone convicted of practising Christianity, I would be just as appalled and just as opposed.

In the United States the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion- no religion- Christianity, Islam, etc can be banned or should be banned.

if they'll move against the most popular TV show, they, just like you and several others, will either tell me I don't have the right to voice my opinion, or my opinion doesn't count. And yes, you'd sue me if you had an address for sexual harassment or something even more stupid, like, for not being pc.........
I have no use for the gay crowd.
They mean nothing to me after all this debate. You guys have convinced me that gays tend to think like animals. a Godless bunch if I've ever met. Steeped in decadence, and debauchery.......sex is all that matters, that and shouting down your detractors. I won't be silenced and you are wrong. Period.

I have never heard a Christian minister preach anything but love and forgiveness, so it has to be your own hatreds you're projecting into them.

They are their own worse enemy. I have met some very nice homosexuals, and cannot imagine how anyone could treat them badly, but then reading some of these posts and the way they try to impose their life style and obsessions with sex on others, rather than recognizing their own moral weakness, makes me realize why nations do not want anything to do with them.

Are you sure that you don't mean to level these charges of " impose their life style and obsessions with faith on others" on Muslims????

Christians believe that Christ personified The Truth, as the one ideal which can bring bout peaceful change because it will convert people to behaviors that are the Way they will best live their Life.
We saw this when Rev Martin Luther King changed Americans because they want to change, in a day when Malcolm X had been preaching change of else, as black mobs had started to use force.

The Truth will change the present culture.
For the first time in history, Christians now can support that child Abuse follows sexual immorality as fatherless kids suffer from being raised by Single Mothers.

The good women in the USA will be review the Report Card on the history of the last half century since their Sexual Revolution, and see the big Fail.
The Truth will make them free the kids from tis training for disaster.

    I did.

Indonesian politics are odd by western standards, riddled with corruption and feudal lord wannabes, so I have a fair idea what can happen in places where these things are common.
That being said, and western extremists pushing their views in such countries apart, I stand by my opinion.
The Ugandan situation is a throwback to western influences such as Church and those of his like.

The Christian church in the west is progressive but only if progressive means, tossing away the bits of the bible that aren't politically correct.
Of course, that's been going on since at least AD 325, and probably before.
The Anglican church is a prime example of corruption.
It was created by a bonkers bonker who wanted to bonk new wives without having to bribe the pope in order to divorce the previous one. Chopping their heads of covered, 'til death do us part' but declaring yourself, "defender of the faith" made life easier.

My original response was an ironic parody of the homophobic post.

However, posts like yours makes mine less of a parody...

    Far right...?

How can moderate preachers get around verses like these:

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I have not yet meet any Christians, but I have observed many, many very nice people who go to church, quietly praying ,and forgetting that their DUTY is to speak up in the face of a Politically Incorrect culture against the things which Muslims sharpen their swords and build their bombs to change by force.

Christians seem to have forgotten that neither the Laws moving to liberalize Gayness and support Abortion and illegitimacy NOR the Sharia of Islam will save America, but only the Truth, spoken bravely in spite of the reactions to what they say.

    Where are they?
Santorum started down the road in 2012, but drew back and soften his criticism of the Feminists, afraid the good women would not help against the child abuse of these fatherless families.
Afraid maybe there are no "good women."

Where is the Christian who will step up and tell these people that the Emperor has no clothes on???

Hopefully someday you will meet some Christians- real Christians- and learn the real meaning of Christianity.
