    Sounds like it's confiscation to me. If it's not, its because those if favor of it are trying to spin it to make it appear different that it actually is.

    Anti-Gun advocates have lost the fight.

    Proof ?

    Hillary R. Clinton lost the Election because of her Anti-Gun stance, otherwise many Pro Gun People might have voted for her.

    The sheer numbers of People applying for concealed carry permits is skyrocketing, the sheer numbers of People buying Firearms is Astronomical, the numbers of People owning Firearms has never been higher.

    The number of States affirming Constitutional Carry is rising every day.

    As these factors are on the Rise and not likely to be rolled back anytime soon.

    The Federal Government will have no other choice than to affirm the Right to keep and bear Arms as an Individual Right.

    You know you lot really have to get over the fact that not everyone who says anything even remotely negative about guns is out to confiscate every last firearm. Damon said he wishes the USA could do what Australia did but thinks it unlikely that they would.

    Seems that the 2a people would like the first amendment removed when it comes to saying anything negative

    More accurately it is a matter of the hypocrisy of glorifying a message of violence as if it were acceptable, while at the same time supporting the exact opposite standard.

    I don't recall telling you to shut up, and you can do what you want with regards to your gun rights. I think what Australia did was foolish and I think Matt Damon is a hypocrite for wanting to copy it in America while he glorifies gun use in the movies and has armed security for himself.

    Maybe he wishes he could live without the armed security like our hollywood stars do. Hemsworth lives at Byron Bay (magic part of the world) and is more at risk from shark attack than a gun wielding nutter

    AND THAT IS BECAUSE WE REDUCED THE NUMBER OF GUNS

    That list it not really accurate D - I have issues with it because it lists some serial killings but not others

    Plus it lists darn near everything whereas if you only look at mass shootings and apply the FBI criteria of four or more dead then we have had only one mass shooting since Port Arthur and that was a family murder/suicide.

    I have issues with including ALL mass killing incidents because there is no evidence for a substitution effect when guns are removed from the equation

    One, you have more guns now that you did in 1996, and two, the only way to reduce the number of guns is through confiscation aka mandatory buyback or go to jail.

    If you believe BowerBirdie, there is no Crime or Firearms in Australia, however Police Reports say otherwise, also, there are many clandestine Gun factories being discovered every Day.

    Quite right BB. The point I have been trying to make is each to their own. What gets up my nose is the misrepresentation of gun control in Australia. I suppose in the end all I can say is I'm glad it works for us.

    To be frank, the most common misconception of gun control in Australia, seen in the US, is "Australia banned all gun and they haven't had a mass shooting since", with the speaker's / writer's inference that all we have to do in the US is the same thing to get the same results.
