Trump isn't liked in Europe. I believe a recent European opinion poll on which world leaders you trust the most put Merkel at the top, Macron a close second, Putin in fifth place and Trump in sixth, ahead of Xi of China. Remember, the UK, Germany, France, Russia and China are still signatories of the Iranian Non-Nuclear Agreement, which most of the world thought was a positive step forward in bringing Iran back into the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Of course that’s not needed when the entire world knows that all they have to do is ask for help and the US is the first one stepping up to protect them. Being an Allied Force with the US is just like me having Rob Gronkowski, Mike Tyson and Conor McGregor as my brothers. No one will ever mess with me.

Cool, keep doing those great things. I believe France said the same exact thing about Pres Bush back in ‘03.

You’re absolutely right. I mean you had the 1st strongest military in the world back in the 40’s and got the sh*t kicked out of you from a country that crossed an ocean at the same time was kickin the crap out of another imperialist in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Germany was largely responsible for bailing out Greece, thus preventing their bankruptcy. They spent a lot of money on that. And, a major cause of the Greek financial crisis was due to the advice U.S. private sector financial consultants were giving the Greeks regarding how to hide their debt load from the European Union. They may figure they've already put up their share through financial bailouts from scandals they trace to us (rightly or wrongly).
Meanwhile Greece, despite its debt load, is one of the few NATO members to exceed the 2% target.

USA joined the war when we had already lost. You barely participated. So please spare me that crap. We killed more enemies than our nation had people. Btw our kill ration with americans waa 12 to 1. For each fallen German, 12 americans did bite the dust.

They overreached. We should be careful not to do the same.

I hope you are not trying to defend Germany's Nazi past? I'd remind you that Germany is one of the few countries that has officially apologized for a part of its history.

Merkel is going to ensure the completion of the North Seas pipeline, by which the Russians may - if necessary - avoid the southern pipeline through the Ukraine in its delivery of natural gas to Germany and other European countries. In fact, some of Rudy's and Putin's Ukrainian friends were charging an exorbitant "transit fee" for Russian energy piped through Ukraine and kicking back a portion of the fee to Ukrainian and Russian oligarchs. The Germans (and other Europeans) just decided to cut-out the "middle man" and reduce their energy costs. Think of it as the "power of the consumer."

It was primarily the apology of the post-WW II generation of Germans. But, that was a passing comment. You failed to answer the question, which was not about your apology, but of your defense of the Nazi past.

Yes...there was a Nazi past...from roughly 1933 to 1945. If you are afraid to own that, you lose credibility.

Including the 1933-45 period? Think carefully before replying. If you cannot admit that the German State committed crimes against humanity during this period, some might think you to be a neo-Nazi.

Having Germany on our side is like having Barney Fife and his single bullet.

What are they going to do militarily to help us?

Get out of NATO & cut ties with the slacker nations.

Germany's economy is part capitalism, part socialism with both resting on the advantages of a trade surplus. Trump would like them to buy more from us, while selling us less. Alternatively, they may buy less of their weapons from us and begin building their own, which is also true of much of NATO. Over the long haul that equates to MORE of global GDP being devoted to armaments and renewed arms races, which is probably not beneficial to the future of humanity.
