Newt’s coherent explanation of what occurred on March 7th and subsequently even though you won’t attempt any level of comprehension on this:

From the moment of the president’s declaration, he put the prestige and authority of the United States on the line. After March 3, anything short of a successful, public campaign for regime change would have been seen as a defeat for the United States.

That’s why during a March 7th Greta van Susteren interview, I asserted that the president should establish a no-fly zone "this evening.” After March 3rd, the President should have moved immediately to consult with Congress to implement a no-fly zone, while also making it clear the US would welcome involvement from other nations.

Instead, he did the opposite. The President wasted weeks trying to get approval from the United Nations instead of Congress, the result of which was a weak mandate from the UN that changed the mission to one of humanitarian intervention.

Yet, by that standard we should also be using US forces in the Sudan, Syria, Zimbabwe, Yemen and more countries.

Given the President's public statements and the multitude of other humanitarian crises throughout the world, the only rational purpose for an intervention with US forces in Libya is to replace Gadaffi.

Now that we have US forces engaged, any result less than the removal of Gadaffi from power will be considered a defeat.

For that reason, I believe we must support the mission and see it through.

 

The republican and democratic parties need to just blow the hell up. Everyone's different and has different goals and thoughts. If someone believes everything a conservative should or someone believes everything a liberal should then they are just lying to themselves. This TUNNEL VISION needs to stop.

 

The differences are CLEAR CUT.

The arguments on BOTH sides are DIRECTLY IN OPPOSITION to each other.

So it doesnt come down to one side being completely right and one being wrong. Each individual thing should be judged separately? Then why the almost straight partisanship on all of the issues? I made a very informative comment on this issue.

I made it very clear that while one may disagree on some minor points.....and they have to be minor within the parameters involved....MAJOR Disagreement on MAJOR issues...either place one in the other camp.....OR, create a THIRD Category somehow DISTINCTLY different from the INITIAL TWO under scrutiny.

Admittedly, in my original post, I didn't state the THIRD CATEGORY ....although I hoped that was implicit.

 

That is a big part of the problem. Our 2 party system forces you into a category. I refuse to be a part of either. I am all for Newt even though I am an agnostic. I think he has shown some individuality in his past by breaking from his party and supporting what he believed in a the time. That to me is not a flip flopper but a man that can make compromises for the greater good and accomplish many things unlike the current group of buffoons in congress and the White House. Things will never get done at the pace we are going now..

Newt is a pretty good speaker. Great voice. I imagine "NO comment." would even sound knowledgeable coming from him. He was quite comfortable speaking to the choir. I loved when everyone cheered when he said "impeachment". I think it was about some crazy killers who were not caught by someone. I guess thats a reason to impeach...,someone. What does he get exactly? I guess if I don't understand it means I am a brainwashed fool.
