He's the President of the United States and a Billionaire. 2 measures of success that I cannot claim...how about you?
Your opinion means nothing. Their ratings were going down back then as well. And the American people have responded to their insulting racism.
He's only president because his rabid fanbase settled for the lowest common denominator with no political experience at all.
Once again you made a post and then immediately prove it wrong with your next response. From no one really cared...to now a small fraction of people. People cared, and the players started it. Now the NFL needs to make a choice. If the drop in viewership and attendance is within their margins of acceptability or not.
Not nearly as fast as they're apparently going down now. Only a deluded white person would call that "racism."
Spin it how you want....but that puts him ahead of myself and you on the "talent" meter doesn't it? Should we just add that to your bar tab of wrong answers?
Emphasizing "really" implies it originally wasn't a lot of people. Now it's a lot of people. Take Trump out of the equation and I guarantee you'd never see a whole football team decide to stay in the locker room during the anthem.
So what? Most people couldn't claim the "measure of success" enjoyed by the leader of Germany in WW2. Trump is an UNDISCIPLINED MORON (whose election was the worst mistake in American History).
That's not talent, that's just desperate pandering. No, wait.....I guess that actually IS a talent. Nevermind, I guess you're right.
Football has always sucked; even worse then NASCAR and baseball. More people need to get away from the tv and ball parks and start doing other more rewarding things.
Regardless, these whole football teams staying in the locker room isn't being seen as an insult to Trump...but an insult to the Nation and it's Symbols. It's another one that's backfiring. America doesn't like it.
And he's still YOUR President, and can buy and sell you in a NY Minute. He's more successful than you, myself, and probably anyone else who's going to chime in here. You can go after him for things you don't care for...but you guys need to stay grounded. He is talented, smart and has been very, very successful. You don't have to like it, but that doesn't change the facts at hand.
Trump opened his mouth to the NFL, so apparently he was insulted, so much that he thinks folks should be fired. Again, remove Trump from the equation and none of this happens.
The NFL can stop this decline at any moment. They simply need to remind the players who the boss is, who their market is and make them resign the guidelines which state they will stand. They're on the job, they don't have some right to protest on the field. Many like myself would love to come back and tune in, but won't until this is handled properly.
That's why they had meetings on the anthem protests last week. Anyway, you'll notice that very few, if any players have been kneeling in the last couple of weeks.
Well if this isn't true then I apologize. I'm not an NFL player, I have not read all the guidelines and have to reply on what the news gives me. http://ktla.com/2017/09/25/do-nfl-rules-require-players-to-stand-during-the-national-anthem/
real sports fans could care less, they care more about the sport then the pre-game stuff - most fans at home do not stand themselves when it plays
Actually, polling is SPLIT on the issue. About half and half. Sure, there are a number of "Americans" wrapping themselves in the flag (that scream FAKE Patriotism), spewing their insincere mock sanctimony. The rest simply don't care. Sorry to break it to you, but a lot of Americans would rather exercise their 1st Amendment Rights by burning the flag (as a protest against Trump's America) than caring about the displays of feigned indignation by a bunch of RW Flag huggers.
Actually, I'll have to take your word for it. I haven't noticed because I have not been tuning in. I was disgusted by the kneeling and decided I'd take a knee on the NFL. I'd like to come back though and will if they handle this.
Well, I guess I'm not a "real" sports fan despite being someone who has been watching going to Patriots games since they wore red shirts at Schaeffer.
Exactly how I feel. For decades I was a fanatic Redskins fan. Like you, I don't consider myself to be boycotting per se. Rather I have lost interest. I turned on the Redskins Monday night game with the Eagles, watched a little less than two quarters, and turned the game off. For whatever reason, professional football has become totally boring. Also, for whatever reason, I now see the fans in the stands as chumps - thinking they somehow have some sort of relationship to the players on the field.
