Fox, I can not take your broad statements and questions seriously. NRA and the gun toters do not want all children playing with guns at school. Guns are not toys as you project it to be. I am not a member of the NRA. I am a member of GOA. Both have wonderful programs along with Project Appleseed.

    Education is the key.

Then drop the righteous indignation act and correct me where I am wrong instead of creating straw man arguments.

We don't have "Gun-Toters" saying send 7year old kids to school with guns. We have you, saying that they're saying that. Projection, Hyperbole, Strawman.....You got anything else?

I find it sad that peoples reasoning on this issue gets so clouded.

Agreed, but his is a straw man argument. Suggesting that kids should be allowed to walk around armed and unsupervised is a long way from being taught to shoot in a controlled and adult-supervised environment.

However, as noted in the OP article, accidents happen and, IMHO, allowing a child to shoot a full-auto machine pistol was not only bound to cause problems, but now we have at least two examples of where it has caused deaths.

This doesn't mean I support making laws against it, but I would certainly hope pro-Second Amendment supporters would seek to establish voluntary common sense policies on such things. As you astutely noted, "Education is the key".

    .

They're not toys? Then why do some gun toters say it's FUN to shoot guns....children use toys to have FUN. If they can take skateboards to school (some gun toters think skateboards are just as "dangerous" as guns) why can't they take other "toys"....afterall they ARE SAFE, aren't they?

    (I ignore your personal story..)..

What righteous indignation? You gun toters sure are emotional.....

    - - - Updated - - -

They modify cars all the time for disabled people...so cars can be modified for smaller people to drive....no one should be discriminated against because of their size..

My wife is not a toy but very fun to be around. My Jeep is not a toy but very fun to drive. My Mosin Nagant 91/59 is not a toy but is one fun rifle to shoot. All three get great respect.

Agree .For the most part we have policed ourselves and yes stupid people own firearms. I will take issue with laws that exist like in DC, CA, IL, NY and such. My 2 angles is those type of laws embolden the elite which are exempt from such laws and when laws become so cumbersome and expensive to obtain the poor or fixed income citizen no longer have the same rights as in cost and fees associated with legal ownership.

Here is a good cost article on how some states are denying rights by insane fees but you will not see any progressive moaning about it:

Check out your State compared to other state cost....

You operate on FEELINGS (which is very bad for gun toters)

You COULDN'T address my posts so make silly claims about what I'm feeling which you couldn't possibly know.

Gun control idiots think if you throw up your hands, and give up guns that everything in the world will be wonderful. Can any of them answer the obvious question: Would you rather parents teach their kids about guns, or gangs teach kids about guns like they do in Chicago? The reality is that in the sparkling gun control utopia of Chicago where it is damn near impossible to legally get a weapon, that people are getting shot constantly.

Why do you want to turn the rest of the country into this kind of hellhole?

This person is also having a issue with "fun" and "Toys" as if it is one in the same . I do not understand what it has to do with his argument or the topic. OH well, heading out for some fun with my wife in our Jeep in the Rocky mountain trails. Have a good weekend.

No, I didn't say that, I said they SHOULD be able to take guns to school because of what gun toters claim, guns are fun and safe.

There, I included the whole quote, the part you dishonestly left out. And I stand by what I posted.

What you posted inferred you are more keenly aware of my thoughts than I am. I'm merely granting you your wish to dictate my opinion for me. You can start with my prolife views seeing as you have already formed a stance.

The part I honestly left out seemed irrelevant to me. Maybe I'm wrong, are you implying I only care about fetus's and not about children? If so please make my thoughts more clear in the future. Thanks.

it is the anti-gunners that live their lives in a constant state of high arousal/emotional caterwauling and angst when it comes to a gun two thousand miles away from them...........seems they are the ones acting like little girls.............

Pretty much boils down to two camps on this issue. Camp One wants to be able to have the capability to take care of their families when something bad happens, be it a Hurricane, tornado, earthquake, riot etc. Camp Two pretty much wants to sit on their collective arses and let someone else protect them. Children should know how to shoot and all about gun safety because one day this knowledge and skills will be very valuable to themselves and their families.

As an aside the mods will not allow comments about anti-gunners and adult depend wearing at least in this thread...
