I was Army Infantry for 6 years with multiple deployments to the ME, and it is my experience that West Point officers are predominately exceptional leaders.

It must be a great place to get an education. It's just too bad that our govt abuses the military with undeclared aggressive wars.

Here is a hypothetical for you. The outlaw militias rise and occupy Seattle.

Is the Army going to say, "No, we will not turn our guns on civilians?"

The threat of RaHoWa may not be great right now, but it is not to be discounted.

That an Army commander at any level might refuse to commit to battle in such circumstances would be treasonous.

 

An act of congress forbade him to close it. So he is not the dictator that the knights in tin foil helmets think he is.

 

An act of congress required Obama to get congressional approval for his military intervention in Libya but he ignored it.

Dictators make up their own laws as they go along.

 

You have to wrap your TV antenna in tin foil to pick them up.

 

A more reasonable hypothetical is crazy Obama voters riot in the streets over some slight - maybe George Zimmerman being declared not guilty - and Obama uses the event as his excuse to declare martial law and suspend the Constitution.

Read Clausewitz, the drills make sense for both countries. We have a common enemy and can learn from each other, and may have to fight side-by-side again some day.

For 4 and a half years all I heard was that Obama was going to be the next Hitler, going to destroy democracy and institute communism and socialism and do away with capitalism. It never happened.
