I also made a point of having insurance for all my working life, which is more than 4 decades. I've previously stated my thoughts regarding PE's, which you have discounted into nothingness. Why bother discussing anything if what I do provide is ignored?

I deal with health insurance as part of my job, from the employers perspective. I know what goes on within the staff, and those that opted out of insurance only to find themselves with a condition, chronic or acute. The statistics are jarring. I am also aware of what other companies deal with in the same regard.

I've lived in NYC. I grew up in NJ. I am thankful I no longer live in that area.

 

Insurance premiums went up for some people because Obamacare was structured to load the cost of insuring another 20+m Americans and lowering premiums for others on premiums for the remaining insureds. If the extra cost had been covered from general revenue, rates wouldn't have jumped for some insureds.

If we don't do something to deal with global warming, we're going to leave future generations a badly damaged planet. My personal take is that we may need to look at nuclear power as the way out.
